August 2026 | Core Business Suite
August's CBS release is all about knowledge โ specifically, making it easier to set up, generate, and continuously improve the knowledge content your employees rely on every day. No big UI overhauls this time, but if you've ever felt like knowledge management was one of the more painful parts of getting CBS stood up, this one's for you.
Out-of-the-Box Knowledge Bases
One of the most common friction points in CBS deployments is standing up Knowledge Bases for each business unit. Starting in August, CBS Foundation ships with a pre-built Knowledge Base for each BU (HR, Legal, Health & Safety, Workplace Services, Procurement, and more), plus one at the aggregate CBS level.
Note: Finance is the one exception and is coming in a future release.
What this means practically: admins can immediately assign knowledge owners and managers to each KB and start building out content โ all from the same Product Console they're already using to configure everything else. No extra setup hoops, no hunting through platform menus. It's one less thing standing between installation and a live, useful knowledge portal.
Note: Article creation via import will be available in a later release. In the meantime, the setup flow links directly to Knowledge Center for article creation and import.
Now Assist Knows Your Cases
Generating quality knowledge articles from scratch is time-consuming. This release makes it a lot faster by connecting Now Assist's article generation capability to your existing CBS case tables right out of the box โ no configuration required.
Knowledge authors can now reference those case tables directly from Knowledge Center to generate article content, turning the work your teams are already doing into searchable, reusable knowledge. The big value here is speed to content: you're not starting from a blank page, you're starting from what's already happened in your environment from one of these existing tables.
AI Knowledge Skills, Now Accessible from Setup
The third piece of this release ties it all together. The AI skills module in the Product Console now surfaces Knowledge-related skills directly in the simplified setup flow โ things like Article Optimization and duplicate article identification and merging.
This matters because keeping a knowledge base good over time has historically required ongoing manual effort (or just... not happening). Now admins can enable skills that continuously monitor and improve content quality from the same place they configured the KB in the first place. Easier to activate, easier to maintain.
