Track asset location using indoor maps
hello everyone this is a quick overview of service now Asset Management on a single platform before we dive into the indoor mapping visualization demo what you are seeing here is a single platform for Asset Management we're going to be talking about two types of assets first we start with Enterprise assets these are your connected and non-connected assets that support a variety of use cases in different Industries in the second part of the demo will cover Hardware assets which are your physical it assets we introduce indoor mapping in the November service now store release this is an enhancement to the current hardware and Enterprise location data model it allows granual location tracking based on longitude and latitude coordinates to visualize asset location on a floor map Joe is an asset manager at a large company using the workspace Joe oversees and maintains their physical assets throughout their life cycle and he needs to verify the location of the assets that were recently moved to the New York campus he starts with Enterprise asset estate and you'll notice a new tab for the asset indoor map feature this is where he'll see where the assets reside based on the location from here Joe can filter The View for the New York City Campus in Building B floor one to see a floor map with blue pins indicating the location of the Enterprise assets he wants to verify the location of the camera and hvx system that were recently moved to the New York City office by filtering on the models he can quickly locate these assets he also has the ability to view the asset details along with their granular location hierarchy clicking on the location map icon it takes him directly to where the assets reside and extremely useful when someone needs to quickly find a specific category of assets let's now switch to Hardware asset management and see how indoor mapping works for your physical it assets Joy is getting ready to do a big Hardware audit before taking on this enormous task he needs a bird eye view of the asset location to understand how much work it will take he starts with inder mapping under asset estate and just like an Enterprise Asset Management he's given this global view Joy is going to be auditing the office in the New York City Campus the map provides a visualization through these blue pins where different Hardware assets are located he can expand on the list to see an itemized list of all the assets available but Joe specifically wants to see all the computers in this office he might want to drill in a little bit further and check on some of these assets along with their location hierarchy so now he knows exactly where this asset is but he also knows exact location of all these other assets Joe returns to the indoor map with confidence in the location of the asset and level of effort required for this audit
