let's set up and integrate the OCTA spoke in your service now instance we'll show you two ways to do this the first is using an API key access the OCTA developer portal and log in once you have logged in open the security tab in the left panel and then select API under the tokens tab select create token enter a name for your token this can be anything you like but it's helpful to choose a name that is descriptive of what the token will be used for then select the create token button API tokens typically have an expiration date so it's important to note this date down you'll need to renew your token before it expires to continue using it you should also save the information Fields as we will use them when setting up the integration Connection in service now now we create an API key credential record for the OCTA spoke navigate to credentials in the search menu select new select a API key credentials in the name field enter a name for your API key credential record in the API key field enter the API key you created in Octa this credential record will be used by the OCTA spoke connection to connect it to other systems and applications now let's create a connection record for the OCTA spoke navigate to connection and credential aliases in the search menu open the record for the OCTA spoke select the connections tab select new in the name field enter a name for your connection record in the credential field select the API key credential record that you created in the connection URL field enter your OCTA organization URL then submit with this connection you can manage OCTA users and groups from within service now now let's see the second way to set up an OCTA spoke by creating a custom oaf application in Octa to authenticate the service now requests access the OCTA developer portal and login open the security tab in the left panel and then select applications on the applications page select create app integration on the create a new app integration window select oidc open ID connect and then web application fill out the form with the following information app integration name Grant type information any redirect uis at this point you should also o save the information Fields as we will use them when setting up the integration Connection in service now and finally select the assignment information select save and the ooth application is created next you need to Grant permissions to access OCTA apis open the applications tab in the left panel and then select applications choose the oath application you have created then select OCTA API Scopes under actions scroll through the list and select grant for the following apis next you will create a connection record that contains the information to connect to the OCTA server in the search menu navigate to flow designer under process automation under the connections tab select the outbound tab in the search all connections field enter OCTA on the OCTA spoke tile select view details select configure on the form fill in the connection and cre IAL information and select configure and get oaf token The Oaf access token is now generated for the OCTA spoke for more information see our product documentation or knowledge base or ask a question in the service now community
