[Music] hey everyone it's Justin thank you for watching and welcome to my house in this video I've got a short run for you and it's about dark mode on mobile and it's a new Vancouver feature I actually recently a day ago got a comment on the YouTube my YouTube channel now the YouTube channel cuz there's more than one um but on my YouTube channel can we configure dark mode for mobile application please help me to understand and this was in response to my service now Utah highlight video showing more dark mode basically in that video Dark mode was brought to more applications in the service now platform well the good news is Vancouver brings dark mode to mobile let's go check out the feature in my database next experience Dark theme variant support now supports mobile so basically if you are using the next experience theme and you have the mobile application available to you and you have upgraded to Vancouver this should be pretty seamless it should work like you see in the video here let's go ahead and pull up my mobile device we'll start with the agent application where I have tried this out and I'll show you how to turn on this dark mode preference so if you go to your more menu in the bottom right hand side of the now agent application I should note that I am on Android um if scroll up after the more menu we want to go to settings which you can see here at the bottom and in settings there's going to be a menu for preferences and you can see that right here you can change your instance you can go in offline mode but you can change some preferences and one of those preferences will be the theme which you can see right there the fourth item uh is now set to default well we're going to go ahead and change that and what's available now in Vancouver is dark we have a dark theme which is a variant on the default theme for the next experience so I'll go ahead and activate that it'll apply the theme to my mobile experience and I'll click through a couple of things so you can kind of see what the Dark theme looks like so it's very dark everything is as you would expect easy on the eyes very easy to see let's go back into the top of the menu here and look at my work right here my work and now I see my incidents and stuff that's assigned to me all in dark mode I haven't clicked on the calendar yet but you can see pretty much consistently dark mode works like you would expect it I'll just click on a couple more items here so you can see those different things let's try one more here I was looking at the other day asset you got all the asset stuff we can see um inventory look up assets and then do I have anything else interesting project status yeah so project status um shows everything in dark mode so that's pretty cool let's hit the home menu and I've crashed my uh emulator which I'm not surprised so let's just fire that guy back up real quick I'll do some editing on the video so you don't have to see me kind of doing all that stuff all right here we are we're back that actually didn't take that long has nothing to do do a service now it's my emulator if I do funny stuff it like freaks out and shuts down the emulator um but let's go ahead and open the now mobile application now mobile is what your users would use right agent is for fulfillers now mobile is for requesters or people who are submitting tickets or consuming stuff uh from different departments in your service now instance we're going to let that load here a second and then go to our more menu just like we did on the now agent application we're going to go to settings and under preferences we should have our theme there we'll change that to dark we see it applying the theme in this application as well and I'll just go back through those menus so you can see what that dark theme looks like for the now mobile application let's go to employees down here at the bottom let's go to favorites I don't think I have any time sheets is something I was playing around with in demoing so there's time sheets here's for me uh so my conflict of interest interest workplace reservations my items my tasks let's go ahead and open a task see what that looks like it's got a that's actually not too great uh I can barely even read that career growth discussions and annual goal update I have got tried the now mobile app so that doesn't look too great still kind of hard to see there as well so would love to see some improvements in the application with that respect but let's go ahead and click on this career growth discussion that's probably going to take us to maybe a knowledge article or something so it looks like I might be jumping out of dark mode here nope it went right back to dark mode nope we're not in dark mode um so it went somewhere weird um I'm not sure what that was but maybe something related to the AG star application let's try a couple more items here let's go back to for me and maybe oh yeah I got some requests so let's take a look at those there's my Cisco R request you can see what that looks like in dark mode all this looks great here very visible able to read everything and uh it looks like I'd expect a request to look like so that is dark mode on mobile now you know about it so get to another reason yet another reason to upgrade your instance to Vancouver to leverage new capabilities in the now mobile and now Agent mobile
