[Music] hey everyone it's Justin thank you for watching and or listening and welcome to my house it's time for another SSH episode or service now stor house lights 113 2023 that's right we're in November of 2023 we had another small week just a slight tick up from the last week you can see here the past three we've gone from 23 to 27 and this week we've got 29 new or updated applications let's go ahead and see how that breaks down by categories that I have created um these are not service now categories they are my categories and this week's episode we have three three compatibility updates two of them to Utah and I think one to Vancouver I think there's also some compatibility updates in the highlights too you'll see we have two downgrades three fixes 15 highlights only two new releases this week and four release notes fails let's jump right into it and take a look at those release notes fails if you haven't seen an episode before a release notes fails is exactly what it sounds like there's no release notes for me to tell you what was updated or what got changed so this week new cation service graph connector for Verve industrial Protection Service Channel facilities management and zert ID identity management IM am and IGA all were released nodes fails I can't tell you what was new or changed in them but the version number increased on them if we just don't know what changed uh next up compatibility updates again two of them were Utah one was Vancouver cyber grx risk exchange lenix integration and pager Duty for customer service management all had compatibility updates there were two downgrades this time capital projects and projects base both from nuvolo were downgraded to their previous release they are another company that always makes the release notes fails because all of their release notes are behind a pay wall or a login so I can't tell you why these were downgraded I can't tell you what was wrong or what was fixed so if you are a neolo customer you're going to have to go talk to them you're not going to finding information here there were three fixes for this episode service now's generative AI controller guard rails and Pronto forms mobile forms for field service execution all had some minor fixes all right that brings us to the good stuff let's jump into the new releases this week we only have two first up on the list is going to be Accenture Telco Reinventing Assurance the future of Network's multicloud architectures and evolving Telco business outcomes in the cloud first strategy let's scroll down to the key features and check those out functional features synthetic dashboards in-depth insights for critical issues and streamlined workload Distribution on the technical side a single Telecom standard data model open architecture with standard open API interfaces towards external systems and AI Ops features there's no screenshots on that new app so that brings us to our second and only other new release fly form GDs toolkit modernized public service for efficient enhanced Citizen First experiences key features on the functional side create and publish Citizen Services at speed modu or interface for easy scalability and modern experience transform existing service now service requests into GDs aligned citizen facing Services digitalized application and request forms on the technical side industry standard web components built on GDs recommended CSS in HTML aligns with GDs best practices for HTML CSS and accessibility enables gdpr C+ compliance and wcag 2.1 AA accessibility they don't have any screenshots either they do got a video if you want to go check that out I'm not going to play it in this video and that is our new releases for the episode which brings us to the highlights we've got 15 of them they'll probably go byy pretty fast here let's take a look at the first one absolute connector was updated to version 1.1.0 and in this one uh lots of new enhancement let's take a look at them here refactored to use absolute V3 apis added Remote Management commands flow designer action types for each Remote Management command Remote Management Suite all Remote Management commands consolidate into a single UI action uh to simplify the user experience absolute custom device Fields import option to turn off CI insert SL update and only use the integration for Remote Management commands option to filter devices by operating system and refactor to use username instead of current score username for user lookup next on the list acronis acronis has the Cyber protect cloud services updated version 2.0.1 and in this one they've introduced support for the Vancouver release and fix in alert types um it builds on top of 2.0 which was developed to meet the needs of large msps uh scatter etc etc um the version that's still 2.0 so basically uh introduce support for the Vancouver release of service now as well as fix and alert type so probably a minor update but it is compatibility with Vancouver and some fixes next on the list is going to be Bell Tech Logics knowledge manager assist updated version 1.0.2 which you can see right there next to my head but we're going to scroll down for the release notes and in this one they have a new feature for automatically create actionable knowledge renewal tasks to manage your knowledge article life Cycles that's what's new from belltech Logics Inc uh next up bright toolbox was updated to version number 1.0.6 and in this version runtime access tracking set To None added string similarity implementation of Levenstein algorithm and added set structure implementation of arrays containing unique elements I believe that's the first time in this series that's uh now over a year old I've ever used the word Lenin so that was fun thank you to the team at bright Consulting Services LTD next up codeless catalog automation was updated to version number 1.5.0 uh got some good release notes Here uh let's see General changes Vancouver support um updated support page with latest dxc contact information and uh updated installation document has been updated the latest version and they fix the order of execution of steps when combining multiple action plans this might result in existing plans running in different sequence see below for more information conditional task changes new support for service model field selection when using the catalog item field when type set to service model renamed business service to service to align with service now naming fix the field catalog variable will now show correctly when required and also fix tasks are now correctly assigned to the group when using service model catalog item or catalog item um so there's a note when when the catalog item has more than one action plan order of the action plan was not taken into account this resulted in incorrect execution order um so they fixed it by adding a conditional uh the order was decided by the conditional step order with this update we'll first look at the action plan order and then the conditional step order it means that the version 1.4.2 might have a different execution order than 1.5.0 so take that into account before you upgrade and this my friends is a great example of good release notes to let everybody know what they're in for if they choose to update to your latest version of your application next up digit trust life or diger trust life cycle manager was updated version 1.2.0 and in this release they've added email notifications for these base actions certificate requested request Certificate request approved or rejected certificate issued and certificate issuance failed admins can now configure support contact for users they've added the sync certificates button to the certificates page and basic validation was added to the request certific ifate form next up IBM Guardian data protection was updated to version number we're going to wait here I I noticed this earlier when I was prepping the story has been really wonky this morning this is the morning of Wednesday uh November 1st I did my crawl yesterday and you can see it's just acting weird I had to refresh that okay version 13.20 and let's see more wonkiness um I clicked on the version number for those of you that are listening and nothing's coming up I just got a blank windows so let me refresh the page again uh for the third time now I've got a blank page again thank you store let's try again third fourth times the charm maybe all right let's click on that app version there we go that's what we're looking for certified with uh so basically they've upgraded uh to uh compatibility with Vancouver and what that me brings is IBM Guardian version 11.4 plus patch 441 version 115 plus patch 525 version 12 and version 12.1 English language installation of IBM Guardian data protection and service now mids server proxy for connection to Guardian behind a firewall uh next up on our list of highlights is Microsoft Azure open AI generative AI spoke updated version 3.0.1 and in this one they changed chat completions actions refactored into a subflow for all of you out there who doubt the future and potential of using flow designer that includes flows subflows and actions this is service now building their latest generative AI application and you can see they've taken an action and refactored it into a subflow this is where you should be developing everybody if you can put it in a flow put it there and I'll stop my PSA for flow designer next up on the list now assist admin console also from service now updated version 1.1.1 and in this version new skills are labeled with their llm service provider such as now llm that service now's llm or Azure open Ai and there were some fixes for some minor defects in this release uh next on our list office templator was updated to version number 3.0.1 and this one they've got some enhancements and fixes the enhancements image export to excel field tag designer improvements portal template management and new template generation form fixes were PowerPoint generation fixes HTML generation fixes and improvements in PDF generation next onor our list of the highlights powerbi connector was updated version 1.5.1 n and in this version transform duration format to DD hhmmss into seconds create from a report improvements uiux improvements and minor bug fixes um looks very similar to the last release notes but slightly different so uh I'll I'll give that that is what's new from powerbi connector next up is service graph connector for aant updated version 1.0.3 and this version new columns and import set tables to receive customer information they will only be send from Avant release2 240. or higher so that's the integrated app the affected tables I'm going to not pronounce the beginning part of this um the effective tables are databases sap instances SAP systems server cluster and sap servers and the new columns are customer name customer custom field 1 2 3 4 and five uh so that's what's updated uh next up shift Handover management was updated version 1.1.0 and in this one they have two enhancements ability to see group schedules directly from the Handover form and ability to document next shift members on the Handover next up on the list Ty systems connector was updated to version 22312 and in this one they had some minor changes an enhancement the product heading length update another enhancement when handing over ownership to a remote system set the owner system to remote at first and a small bugfix contract ID missing for the catalog so look at those great release notes from the team at T Systems next and last on our list of highlights is going to be an update from VMware ARA automation plug-in going to version 8.14 new up at the top here are is added confirmation popup for supported day two actions support for constraint validation of fields with default value added support for field level error messages for Day Zero catalog items enhance the support for or of conditional read only for the object field support for event-based data synchronization support for IDM terraform AWS CFT and ABX actions and address minor bugs bugs and implemented fixes and that my friends is the complete list of all of our highlights let's take a look at what you just saw or heard two new releases 15
