Platform Academy Session #43 - Oct 12, 2023 - Admin Center and System Clone Updates for Vancouver

Import · Oct 30, 2023 · video

all right um hello and welcome everybody welcome to this 43rd platform Academy session uh in the same uh Arena as we usually do uh today I'm being joined by my colleagues Adrien and Ashley uh welcome to you both welcome to everybody in the attendee list uh I'm so glad you could join us um and today we have a session that'll be aaz in for uh everybody who works with the service now admin uh feature sets so uh I really want to make sure that you all know that admins are important to us and we want to make your experience better so we uh released and will be releasing uh several new uh and improved features for admin Center and the system clone experience with a Vancouver release and to uh take us through this uh we'll start with the admin Center uh and Ashley please give a quick introduction to yourself hi everyone um so I am Ashley Snider I'm an outbound product manager here at service now um you'll see me bouncing around with different products I have a lot of the admin experience products which we'll talk about today Knowledge Management uh and I actually was an admin myself for about six years so I definitely understand um all the things that admins go through and I'm very excited of all the changes that we're making yeah me too and then the uh the second part of today's webinar we'll be looking at the a new app called system clone clone admin console and here to introduce that to you is Adrien please give a quick introduction to yourself hello everyone my name is Adrien bisdorf I'm part of the instance automation team I've been with service now for about six years and excited to share with you our new clone UI in a little bit that's awesome thank you so much and my name is Lisa hollenstein I'm an outbound product manager I work uh for the platform business unit my main focus areas are uh the workflow automation uh tools so that is flow designer process automation designer and decision Builder uh I also Host this Academy every other week and uh we've had loads of great sessions in the past also other sessions that I would recommend to everybody who is an admin on the now platform we've already done sessions on platform Security on uh upgrades on upgrade center subscription management and uh also sessions with Ashley about Knowledge Management so there are loads of awesome tools for for admins and developers on the N platform and before we head into things I'll go through a couple of uh housekeeping slides so uh that everybody knows where we're at and you all know this one especially since we're talking about a new tool that is to be released uh we will be talking about Safe Harbor uh statements so if we are mentioning any products that are not released yet please be mindful that things and timelines may change uh uh based on what happens till we get there uh but we do try to give you as accurate information as we can right now uh don't make any purchasing decisions based on anything we tell you today as always um this platform Academy is part of a larger series of webinars and meetups and uh with this QR code and the links that you will see later in this uh in this deck uh there are moreis and I want to encourage you to join those as well we have some about uh platform analytics next experience and of course everybody's newest and uh F most favorite new product child and that is geni in the AI Academy I have just one more agenda slide um so as I said Ashley will start all right thank you everyone so um this presentation is going to be mainly um in Adrian's house we want to leave a lot of time for the cloning console what I'm I'm going to provide is really just kind of a high level overview of admin Center I really want to provide a lot of context and really kind of provide the wrapper around that admin console and kind of where we're going with our admin experience products that way you can have a better understanding of what we currently have out how they work together but most importantly our strategy going forward when we talk about these products so um at a high level what are we really trying to do with admin Center and all the other products that we wrap underneath what we're calling admin experience now so our mission statement is to empower admins to execute digital transformation and really expand the value of the surface now platform um so you know what does this really mean in layman's term well we know that admins wear a lot of hats they do a lot of jobs and they also have a lot of influence in communicating our products and their value to the stakeholders and their companies and you know they're doing their operational work they're doing their development work and they're trying to pick up new products and enhancements that we have coming out and we really want them to be the champions We want to make their jobs a lot easier not only operationally but when looking at these new products that we have coming out because we know that they are our Champions uh so we want to help them help us really while we help them um you know roll out value to their organization so I do want to provide like a breakdown of who we're thinking of when we're talking about the admin Persona uh and we designing our products so we have broken this out into three different personas which I'll talk to in just a moment uh we do know that the admin line can be blurred at a lot of organizations you may have a large team where um you have folks who do actually fit into all these personas and you have these designated um personas that you know you have an application admin and your instance admins and your platform owner and those all work together or you may just have a smaller team of just one to two admins where someone is really wearing all these these hats um and these these lines are really cross so we do understand this when we're designing our products um you know we are kind of building them out with this focus in mind um but we do know that these will become blurred um and I do want to go over just the admin personas um I know we have admins out there that have been doing these jobs for a long time we have new admins who are coming into the service now ecosystem so I want to make sure um that everyone kind of understands our terms and definitions when we're talking about the admin Persona and when we're designing our products um so the first one is our platform owner um this is really the individual who makes the buying decisions for the service now platform they make the Strategic decisions and kind of the road map of where the platform is going to go at the organization again this could be one person this may be the admin itself um it really depends on your organization then we have the instance admin so the overall kind of platform admin the admin is that is responsible for the health and security um of the service now platform they're the ones responsible for maintenance upgrades clones uh things like that that that person who oversees kind of everything platform wide and then the third person um is the developer or you could interchange this with an application admin so someone who is really taking uh requirements from stakeholders and transforming them into Solutions um whether you're working on like an HR application or SEC Security application or even a scoped in-house application um these are the folks who are responsible for those areas uh and veloping within those areas so again you may have all of these in your organization you may just have one person doing all of them um but just so you I did that awfully awfully familiar I did all of that except for deciding what we purchased they never gave me that permission unfortunately I I would have bought everything I know right that that would have been really nice um I've been in that situation too right I've been on teams that we had a platform owner we had admin we had application developers and that was really nice um and then I've been in the situation where it was just me and one other person um so totally get it um you guys do wear a lot of hats you do a lot of jobs and it can be really hard to look at new enhancements that we have coming out or products or communicate those to your stakeholders while at the same time you're you're working on your upgrades you're working on your incidents and all the other tasks that you have to do all while developing as well so definitely a lot going on for admins and we want to make it easier for yall um so now that I've kind of talked about what our mission statement and vision is and who we're really designing for with our products I kind of just want to go over this really high Lev slide of the current products that we have out and the journey that they fit into um so you can kind of get a glimpse of where we're going with them um so you know while we're empowering you to look at service now and adopt new products and when your stakeholders come to you and they've seen something in a conference or a webinar or something like that and they want to know more information about it how do we make that easier for yall um so we've you know broken this down into four different stages um so the first one is to discover the applications that you're entitled to so your organization has bought something whether it's you know itsm itom or um you know employee workflow something that y'all bought and you've probably implemented part of it but how do you know the products that you haven't implemented or how do you know the new products that fall underneath the things that you're licensed for um that we've just come out with how do you discover those and learn more about those in the past you really had to go through a lot of the product docs it was very manual and someone had to really go through and look through all that or you had a stakeholder kind of walk up and say hey I heard about this can you look more into it so we want to make that easier for y'all um so we do have two products right now to do that um the first one is adoption blueprints um it's been around since Tokyo where you can look at like a high level business outcome and we kind of walk you through a maturity Journey on how to get through that outcome so let's say you want to reduce cost um via itsm or itom we walk you through all the applications and plugins that you need and how to configure those to get to that outcome and we track your progress along the way I will mention right now adoption blueprints is for more of the itom itsm products but we are expanding those in the future uh and then next we have application manager so this is uh a new term but not really it used to be called plugins. Doo really um but now we've given it an official name which is great and I love that um so application manager when you go to install applications like how do you find what you're licensed to how do you find what's installed how do you find out what's coming out um those really used to be in lots of different places we've all put that in one place of application manager I have a slide about that so I won't go too deep right now um and so you found that you have applications that you're entitled to that you haven't installed yet or haven't configured yet and you want to go ahead and do that so the next step along the way is to adopt and configure them uh and we want to make this easier for you uh it has been kind of dispersed in the past and it still kind of is um we are on the first steps of our journey with this but we want to make it easier um to configure them and this is kind of where the admin consoles that we're talking about today fall into this um so you're going to see a new product in uh November coming out called configuration Hub I'll speak to that in just a moment um our admin console so the cloning admin console is an example of one of those one of the first examples that we're talking about uh and then also we have our tried and true guided tours uh setup and Health Center so really how do you onboard your users to the applications that you're implementing or even the applications that you're building um that's all part of the adopt and configure process and we want to make that a lot easier for you so once you've you know discovered your applications you've configured them they're out in the wild how do you really manage them now how do you have a high level overview of all the stuff you have going on uh we want to use the admin home um page really give you that kind of bird's eye highlevel view everything that's going on in your system so this was first released in San Diego uh it's got a big update in Vancouver um so definitely check that out on your PDI if you haven't seen it already um but this is really going to be kind of your command center and we are definitely um updating it and making changes to it um in future releases but but for now I do want to let you know that we have a lot more capabilities in that and then the last thing on the journey is to realize value this is something that we're we're maturing in right so as we're giving you guys your adoption Journeys and your maternity Journeys we're taking our own along the way so we've gotten to operate right now but now we need to get to realize value so when you've installed an app and you've have it in the while and you're operating how do you understand the value that the application is giving to your organization and that's something that we need to provide to you guys and that will be in a future road map so we've gotten through kind of our adoption Journey with admin Center I just got a few more slides on some products that I talked about before I hand it over to Adrian so the admin homepage um again this is kind of where you're going to drop as an admin as soon as you log in if you have next experience turn on and you have the admin roll you're going to see this admin homepage uh like I mentioned in Vancouver we redesigned it to put a nice next experience dashboard up there for you you can configure that dashboard um you can even create next experience dashboards and swap back and forth because we know admins not only are you doing operational work you're also doing probably development work as well so you're going to want to see some agile things there if you're using um our Agile development products to do your work uh and you're just going to want to be able to configure this and really kind of customize it to your needs as an admin so when you go there you have everything that you need uh so you can do that I will say check out like the product documentation on analytics Center check out the U platform analytics Academy if you want more information on these dashboards they're going to be really helpful to kind of get an understanding of where our dashboards are going in the future uh on the bottom there you'll see we have information about your instance so um any kind of upgrades you have coming up any kind of upgrade issues you need to take a look at uh you can jump to upgrade Center pretty easily um you can look at entitled applications at a glance so how many applications on that particular instance do you have installed and this is an easy way to jump to that application manager as well and then adoption blueprints so you're wanting to look at a business outcome as an admin you talk to your stakeholders and you want to start exploring that uh you can jump to adoption blueprints from there as well I think the most important thing about this page though is really that feedb feedback button at the bottom um so there is that feedback button it does go directly to our product teams it does not go through the idea portal I'm sorry idea portal I have a lot of love for the idea portal but uh sometimes it does get missed so this is going to buypass that and go directly to our product team so if you do have feedback about the admin homepage and things that you'd like to see please share that with us via that feedback button there at the bottom I have a quick question uh from uh the from the attendees uh does the um if you're a platform owner do you have to have the instance admin role to uh see the admin console or any of the link products like the app manager adoption Blueprints and so on do you have to have the admin role I can't speak for the admin consoles because those will be um console by console basis for application manager yes you'll need the admin roll for adoption blueprints yes you will but in Vancouver we've provided the option to share a blueprint so in the past only admins could see it a lot of stakeholders need to see those as well so you can share that out to anyone in your company and it will give them a readon view of that adoption blueprint um so that is new in Vancouver awesome thank you so um kind of on the subject of admin consoles again I won't get too deep because you're going to see one out live here in just a second um but we really want to put everything as an admin um at your fingertips when you're looking at a specific application so you'll see the cloning one in just a moment uh another good example would be the now assist admin console that we're coming out with so installing plugins doing configurations getting helpful information and then at the end using the metrics to track who's using that application and look at that value those are all in different places in the past um you'd have to go to guided setup application manager U build a dashboard all kinds of things product docs um so it's all in one place for you now and this is really where we're going with admin consoles so when you start to see us rep platform a lot of our admin consoles and you see the word admin console think about just everything that you need as an admin for that application centralized into one place for you uh and I won't Ste the Thunder too much from Adrian on that one so I'll quickly skip over to my last few slides um so you know admin consults we're going to start having a lot out there um where do I get to those like how does this all really work together um that's going to be in our new product called configuration Hub which is coming out in the store I'm going to ask Lisa to put me on her backlog um to speak about this one at some point um but really so you know right now we do have a few admin consoles you are going to have to go to the all menu to get to them we didn't want to hold back from releasing them but we do want to put them all in one centralized location for you and that's where configuration Hub it's going to come in uh as we have admin's consoles come out as you're trying to do stuff uh you go to configuration Hub to kind of walk through the guided experience of setting up something and managing it and looking at any kind of metrics that are pertinent to that application um and then if we don't have an admin console for something yet U and we're working on it we do have a nice file explorer view now we call explor view um but it's like finder in a Mac U file explorer and windows you can now see all of the relevant um tables and Records such as business rules UI policies things like that that are pertinent to an application whereas in the past um if you're working on some of our older apps you'd have to go straight into the form and kind of rightclick or go into studio if it was the scoped app so it was disjointed and we're trying to put it all in one place for you guys and we'll definitely go deeper into configuration Hub um around November all right um so two more slides for me application manager again was a big one um we redesigned this and brought a lot of the external resources that we had out there in house uh so we wanted to make it lot easier for y'all to navigate search look at things that you're already entitled to get more information that's all going to be an application manager there is a an hourong Creator toolbox um session that we did with the developer Advocate team we basically just did an entire tour of this thing so if you want to go deeper into application manager and really get all the information about every little single piece about it um check out that Creator toolbox session it is linked on our admin experience product Hub so we have a brand brand new product hub for all the admin experience products um I do have this cross posted this uh session cross posted on there I have the creative toolbox cross posted on there so if you hear anything relating to admin Center application manager guided towards guided setup help center configuration Hub and the more products that we're coming out with it's all going to be in this product hub for you um as a One-Stop shop Place uh and as we have more events and things coming out and FAQ just be sure to know how to navigate to that it's underneath now platform or just go ahead and bookmark it and I will send the link out and I will hand it over to Adrian wanted to make sure I give him enough time to kind of go through everything today that sounds awesome awesome so Adrian you go ahead we'll take it from here yeah well thank you Ashley for providing that wonderful overview this is uh super exciting and and thank you Lisa for putting together this uh session so welcome everyone I I see it's really exciting to have all of you join us today I have a question for all of you who on online is cloning from who we have uh here today and I imagine it's it's pretty much everybody because cloning is such a ubiquitous action that every admin um or architect or platform owner has to has to do on service now and so today I'll share a couple um just a couple tips and a couple basic cloning U pieces of information and then I'll dive into our new clone console which will come out November 2nd on the service now store so we'll dive briefly into what is cloning just to level set on on a couple pieces of terminology um why you would want to clone a couple tips and then I'll provide I'll I'll jump over to an instance and give you a preview of what is coming up in in our clone admin console we'll also have some time for Q&A so first up cloning is essentially copying all of the data metadata configurations from one instance to another so we have a source and a Target and of course in reality this process goes through a backup uh system so as you are cloning we are actually pulling this data from the last nightly backup and uh feeding the data into the target instance so something to keep in mind as we discuss cloning today and a couple of the basics it's not a direct instance to instance copy but it is Data from that last nightly backup and this has some implications on on how you want to strategize around when to clone and what to keep in mind there's an excellent Academy session that dives deeper into this into the mechanics and and um into cloning that is from Andrew Barnes and Daniel Drees and highly recommend that as well if you want to dive deeper um yeah so the terminology we'll cover briefly is production sub production instances the source and the Target and then preservers and exclusions as part of the Clone and all of this will be part of the console which we'll share in a couple minutes before I dive into that though I'm curious in in uh if we can put up the poll I believe we have a poll how often do you clone from production today yes the poll is running people are clicking the clicks and we have a a leader right now is every six months but every 3 months and yearly are right on its heels it's a nice distribution and yeah we we have obviously different use cases for each of these frequencies right um everything from cloning right before upgrades to development and setting up your development instances for your Clon we'll dive into those in just a bit Yeah and replies have slowed down I'm sharing the results just uh for a second we have about 20% for yearly about 40% every six months uh a quarter 24% for every 3 months and the rest clones even more often awesome that's an awesome distribution all right well we um would definitely be interested to also share and to learn more about the reasons how you're you know why you might clone every six months versus every week or every two weeks right and this this depends also on why you clone one uh a couple very common use cases are before testing or before a family release upgrade before testing new apps or new capabilities you are pushing to production but also to set up for a new development cycle on this third one you have to find the right balance for your team right to because cloning can be disruptive to stakeholders to developers and so um just to keep in mind that cloning too often can also disrupt that that work all right um so thank you for for sharing that those frequencies a couple pieces of information on exclusions and preservers so as we talk about exclusions in in the Clone up and in general as well when we're copying we're cloning data from source to Target when we exclude data we copy over over only the schema of the table and essentially the result is an empty but usable table on target things to keep in mind for exclusions are that when you exclude a table it also automatically excludes all the child tables in this case task is apparent to incident problem change uh Etc and so these tables will then also be empty on your Target if you choose to exclude it how do preservers work preservers uh work a bit different let's say you have an empty table on source and a table with some data on your target instance let's say it's a custom table if you are preserving or seeking to preserve as the name suggests you seek to keep that data on target things to keep in mind for preservers is that it does not not preserve the child tables of this table so today it is set up so that it you have you'll have to individually preserved tables if you wish them to be uh preserved both of these are set up on the source instance which takes me to our next topic which are clone profiles here's a quick snapshot of the Clone profile section on the app which I'm about to show so a clone profile you can think of it as a template for cloning which you can have multiple profiles for different scenarios you've uh you've just shared with us the the frequency right if you're cloning before upgrades you might have different exclusions in preservers versus in other scenarios so think of it as a reusable template it's instant specific and uh you can prepare your exclusions and and preservers for those scenarios with clone profiles this is a great place to start if you're new to cloning start with clone profile as a first step all right and that brings us to our second and and final poll question here how long I'm curious how long do clones today take from production for folks online and as we pull up this poll um I'll I'll share a couple main drivers of duration right so main duration drivers today the primary one is database size the larger database the longer it'll take to to clone that data but then as we uh before I I share the demo with you we also have some tips on how you can check some settings and ensure that that you're optimized for fastest for the fastest possible clone times yes today yeah and looking at the results for the most uh most of the people about 71% it is uh done in 2 to 5 hours uh they're about 177% for 6 to 10 and very few where it takes longer I think that is a good good result 6% 11 to 24 hours there probably larger instances larger databases over 24 hours I see for for people so that that's definitely a longer duration and hopefully some of these tips can can help with that as well all right so um a couple tips so as I mentioned starting with a clone profile if you are new to cloning and if you haven't explored that yet um communicating to stakeholders making sure every everyone knows when the Clone is happening really important because obviously the inflight development work has to be saved um as the previous question brought up so if you have an app that is in progress you'll have to either commit it or export it and then reimport it after the Clone really really important if you're working with update sets um or if you're if you're committing Chang is right before the Clone make sure you commit the changes prior to the backup this is because as we shared at the beginning clone pulls from the last nightly backup so if you're publishing changes right before the Clone and then triggering a clone it might pull the backup from uh several hours ago and not include those changes so really really important to to uh keep in mind that um committing changes prior to the backup time not the Clone time and then we'll have some time-saving tips that I've alluded to I see there's another question in in the chat Lisa if you yeah I think we we covered um them there's uh the tips to accelerate we'll get to that in a second and if there's an option to get a readon clone like an instant clone I think if there's an option so if you have something that you need to urgently debug on your prod instance you can reach out to support um sometimes they can help you uh set up something like that to uh debug a business critical issue so I would I would reach out to support for for Urgent cases otherwise uh we have the regular cloning I think yeah I second that it'll take about the same amount of time as a clone because it's it's the same process but but yes that's uh yeah especially if it's business critical definitely reach out all right on on those of you who have multiple instances especially multiple Dev instances you can save time by clone something called clone chaining who I'm not sure if if uh folks are familiar with the term clone chaining but essentially rather than cloning from production every single time which can take a long time because production is typically a larger database a lot more data you can first clone from production into into test let's say or stage and in The Next Step you can use test as your Source instance to then clone to development and those clones are typically much faster if you're running a lot of post clone scripts let's say your anonymize data or you remove sensitive data one more reason to to then clone from the smaller cleaned up data set set to your development instance it'll really speed up uh the time there are a couple settings that you can check as well so there are there is this exclude large or exclude attachment data checkbox or in the new UI it's it's a toggle um If you experience the large clone durations those folks with 24 hours or more try deselecting this and just copying over the entire attachment data it will help with clone time so counterintuitively it'll actually be faster because the attachment table also includes some internal catalog images and other images and going through the logic especially if the table is very large to selectively remove attachments will take a long time in a large data set so deselect uh that when when there is also a amount of data copied from specific tables this is the task and is child tables keep that as full so the default out of the box is full so avoid that last 90day setting especially if your task table is very large large preservers also add a lot to clone time and an alternative to this last 90day setting that I me mention is to exclude the large tables Al together so for instance you can exclude task and then save um you know save storage space and time on your on your sub open clones are there any questions thus far I see some uh numbers on the Q&A yes so uh one of them is will the new cloning console show your last full backup that would be leveraged for the next clone so that last full backup we we don't have the backup timestamp in it but I'll share with you a new feature related to backup so it it has an ond demand backup uh functionality on the app that sounds awesome and then the second one can you revert only specific portions of a clone if changes were not saved in a particular instance or you have to re uh versus reverting the whole uh clone today you'll have to um roll back the the Clone and you can do so within seven days or two days if you're on a sharded DB all right but but yeah we we included that as well and the but I'll share that in a second all right so let's uh provide a couple U just a couple pieces of information here what we really focused on with this console is visit ability and usability uh to your all and bringing all clone related settings into one place as was shared earlier so it brings a simplified clone request form it also provides some guidance on the items that can add to your clone duration it has a new scheduling tool to uh prevent timing conflicts has that on demand backup option which can come in handy and it uh provides visibility on your current and on your recent clone activity and with that I will switch over to my other screen I see there's another question while I while I pull that up there's a question about off fisca uh data post cloning uh like sensitive data I believe that is done with the scripting right we do we do we have a product on that so it's called Data anonymization and it goes hand in hand with uh yeah so you can you can categorize your data and then anonymize it uh we can share the link after this session as well but it's a it's a job that would run after your clone and then you can choose for instance Social Security numbers you can Define it by Rex and find that data and then scramble or obfuscate it as you wish awesome all right thank you for for those great questions let's dive a into a brief demo of our new clone app so here is an overview of your recent uh clones and the inlight Clones if you have any it can also be switched to a list layout as I mentioned up top you have all clone related configurations definitions in one place and and a simplified request experience first I'll just show you briefly how to add or where to add instances clone instances are those uh instances that are that you can can clone to and from so you can have multiple Target instances depending on how many Dev instances you have and then you have clone profiles if this is loading there we go so in this case I have one clone instance and to add a new one you have to be an admin on that instance in this case instance URL the admin and the admin password to add a new instance clone profiles are these templates for cloning that highly recommend especially if you're new to clone great place to start and they can contain all the exclusions preservers and cleanup scripts for this specific instance in this case and I can also check to make this the default if I frequently use this specific um profile the profile also has the different optional settings you can select what we did in the new request page here we provided some context on what each of these settings do and how they affect your clone time and we look forward to provide more guidance as we move forward within the profile you can dive into each of the modules here exclusions for example and add it uh and add different uh items to your profile if you seek to add preservers or exclusions you can do that under definitions so here you have all the uh exclusions that you can that you have set up to set up a new one you'll have to go to set up a new exclusion and then as I mentioned by default if you add an exclusion it will also add the child tables of this of this uh table so let's say if you add task it will also exclude the uh incident problem change tables that are part of those extended tables and preservers works in the same way but once again keep in mind that when you exclud when you preserve a table it does not today it does not preserve the child tables something to watch out for all right and of course we have clean clean up scripts these are the outof thebox scripts and you can create new ones um that for instance your own uh scripts or own uh types of actions that you want to automatically run after your clone completes something to keep in mind is that the Clone completes and the cleum scripts are actions that happen afterwards essentially so if if you are seeking to Opus gate data uh then you'll have to keep in mind that access to that data is uh part of uh the process as as you go through it let me briefly show you the Clone request form here so you'll select a source instance you select the target instance the one that we've seen earlier you can select your profile you'll have a scheduling calendar that avoids the the um maintenance conflicts over here and you can pick your exclusions preservers and cleanup scripts here is the on demand backup option that I've mentioned so um you can toggle this on and it'll give you a an estimate that's pretty neat it even gives you an estimate and uh the one thing that I mentioned earlier with the amount of data if you choose last 90 days it'll also give you a quick warning that it might add to your clone duration this is essentially a shopping cart summary of what you have selected all your settings and then you can confirm and submit your clone request so I'll I'll uh end with with the fact that I hope the some of the time-saving tips have helped reduce some of those longer clone durations and uh a couple next steps on this clone UI November 2nd is our store release in March we will ship it as part of Washington so it'll be on your instance uh at the latest when you upgrade to Washington and then we invite you for next year and Beyond to to join us and yeah to provide us feedback on it and to if if you have availability we would love to invite you to provide feedback on some new ideas and iterations as it relates to the Clone console that sounds good uh we do have a QR code a little later uh but we'll address some of the questions that have come in uh uh for a little bit uh so one very good question uh posted by Jose is will the Clone request get cancelled just in case the on demand backup fails for some reason or would it still go through with a clone I haven't encountered this specific case personally I I haven't seen this show up in in in our data uh but we will so I today it would cancel the Clone uh if if part of it fails but it's a it's a great question but it hasn't to my knowledge it hasn't occurred uh to date awesome uh so the uh another question is is there a way to clone multiple instances many to many I'm not sure that would be reasonable to do one to many I can see many to many many to many that's a great question many to many I I would love to understand that uh use case better so I think I DJ Patel you you you'd be a great candidate for those uh iterative sessions if you're interested I'd love to dive dive into that but uh we are working on on one well we are exploring this space with um how how to for instance clone chain to if you have 20 development instances to make it easier to not have to go through 20 different requests but um yes Safe Harbor in mind we are um are we are working and exploring this right ah so many questions coming in uh will this how will the Clone console acquire the high portal change number info do they have to set up anything or is it integrated in the back end it talks to our support instance right it does it it'll have the Clone request and the change number in the theend and it is available on Utah patch 2 and above so anything it's compatible with Utah patch two and above oh that's awesome so in November when it uh is available on the store you can install it on what you say Utah Patch Utah patch two patch two awesome thank you and then uh save haror in mind uh when will this oh the that's the question for Ashley when's the configuration console uh going to be released yes so uh November 2nd so you know that's a big store release day so you'll have a lot of um fun things on that day uh it will be Vancouver I believe patch two that could be subject to change I'll post an update on that but I believe it is Vancouver patch to awesome I think we're good with questions so if you want to click through the last couple of slides for me um Adrian awesome There's the link let us put this in chat as well but you can also use that uh QR code and uh to sign up for the research and the session that have been mentioned before uh and then we'll see if there are more questions okay um so DJ asks is this not an automatic update do you have to get it from the store if you want to use it as soon as it is released you'll have to install it from store so that'll be on November 2nd with the Vancouver uh store to release uh it will be automatically we call that um uh rolled up I think it will be up in the Washington uh release so once you upgrade to Washington it will be there however uh the true true up is the word the trub version that you get with the family release is most often the previous version of a store apps so with Washington when you upgrade your instance to Washington you'll get the Vancouver store to release version of this app uh we uh as we go we do publish more updates to the store app so there will be another release uh that will coincide with Washington early access to the store app that will not be included when you upgrade to Washington so if you always want the newest version of a store app I want I would like you to uh always check the wonderful application manager that we saw earlier which will notify you about available uh upgrades to the store apps installed on your instance all right uh so that is that uh we will keep an eye for more questions uh but we will address them um after the session so if you have any more uh things please put them in the Q&A uh Channel um or put them in the survey that you will be asked to fill out after the session ends um before we head out uh and say our goodbyes I want to quickly call out the other academy uh series again uh we really have sessions that are interesting to to everybody and everyone um that works on the now platform and I want to uh really um give a shout out to all of my colleagues who do uh great work U providing that content to you there are so many great sessions in those um cataloges as well so previous sessions that are uploaded to YouTube it's always a good idea to check those out uh we um are currently going through loads of uh what is new in Vancouver for each of our product area sessions so there's uh what's new for next experience session there's what's new for platform analytics and for virtual agent and of course uh all of the Gen goodness so please uh check those out and then I think there's uh one more is there another slide I think there's just the thank you slide there we go thank you thank you Ashley and Adrian for this session I think this was very highly interesting we had some great interactions great chat feedback and and poll results uh awesome questions um I hope to see you again on this show um and I will definitely schedule a session with Ashley for the uh configuration conso sounds good thank you so much for hosting us Lisa yeah thank you for hosting us and thanks everyone for joining oh yeah totally uh thank you everybody you have a lovely night and or rest of your day and then I will see you again let me quickly recap I will see you again the next session in two weeks will be skipped I will see you again early November uh and Andrew Barnes who was mentioned before and I will talk about how to secure your work for automation products which will be a very complicated but highly interesting session and then end of November uh we'll skip a week for uh the Thanksgiving uh Thanksgiving in the US um we'll have another session on November 30th and uh on December 7th with Jason Le fever we'll be talking about process automation designer and Playbook experience because there are so many great new things that were added in Vancouver and Utah and we really want you to see those uh and with that H I wish everybody a good day and byebye thank you everyone
