Getting started with the CMDB workspace
[Music] this video provides a tour of the cmdb workspace components and their functionality the cmdb workspace on the now platform provides a centralized and efficient way to search and explore the cmdb use it to examine health and recent activity and to access cmdb dashboards and tools to support tasks in your organization the cmdb home views gives a highlevel view of tools for accessing and managing all things related to the cmdb such as tasks cmdb health and CI relationship data with intelligent search you can query the cmdb using plain language important actions shows time-sensitive activities that need attention such as overdue tasks or duplicate or stale configuration items my work is a quick reference to review open and overdue tasks cmdb Health provides an overview of the current state of the cmdb based on factors like completeness compliance and correctness what's new shows new CIS broken down by application Hardware software and other categories CI overview shows a summary of CIS including those that you manage as well as a view of on premise and Cloud resources selecting any of these options gives a more detailed view of the relevant data the governance views provides visibility into attestation tasks cmdb 360 views displays data brought in from different sources such as Discovery or service graph connectors this provides visibility not only into where the data comes from but also which records it populates Discovery Source overview shows the total number of CIS per data source coverage displays the number of Discovery sources updating CI records with queries you can build queries to analyze the data that's been been tracked by multisource and then run reports from [Music] it insights views shows the level of adoption of various cmdb features and application Services selecting any of these options for cmdb feature adoption shows tools and features that you've already adopted and tools you might want to consider adopting links to documentation demos and install pages are provided for features and tools you haven't adopted to help with decision-making on the management views users with the admin role can access tools and information they need to manage the cndb rejected CIS are CIS that have been rejected from an attestation task excluded CIS are CIS that have been excluded from data manager policy tasks the administrator can review them to determine why they were excluded draft policies are data manager policies that have not been published CI correctness provides a view of CI correctness scores from the health dashboard this includes duplicate orphan and stale CIS recent CI activity displays the most recent activity for configuration items in the cmdb recent application Services activity shows the total number of operational Services updated services and services experiencing outages in the last 7 Days management tools are broken down into four categories manage optimize visualize and create each offers convenient links for quick access to related cmdb management tools the cmdb workspace provides a centralized view where you can search explore and work with cmdb data to handle related tasks understand data sources and manage your cmdb health and activity for more information see our product documentation or knowledge base or ask a question in the service now community
