this video shows how to create an application in devops config you can manage configuration data used in the devops environment by creating an application in devops config applications created here become a container that holds the configuration data of the application this container is synced and used in devops change velocity for work items code commits and pipeline executions you can create an application that is connected to an existing application model or application service you can also create an entirely new application and application model let's start with creating an application that's connected to an existing application model or service navigate to the dev Ops config workspace and select apps to create a new application click new select the model type and the existing model or service you'd like to connect the application to creating a connected application will ensure that the the configuration data is associated with a configuration item in the cmdb and linked to the corresponding application model in your devops environment for the model type select application and for the existing model select application model enter the application model name and click create now you can see the application details let's create an entirely new application and application model you should select this option if you don't have an existing model model or application service and want the application's information to be associated with the csdm we'll select an application for model type then enter the application name and click create we've now created a new application and application model now you can determine which application creation method suits your needs for more information see our product documentation or knowledge base or ask a question in the service now community
