Disable ServiceNow Product Feedback in the Help Menu
[Music] hey everyone it's Justin thank you for watching and welcome to my house in this video I have another new Vancouver feature for you and I'm not even going to really I'm going to show you the feature but I'm going to show you how to disable this new Vancouver feature um it has to do with the feedback mechanism that's been added to the help menu and I actually wasn't going to cover this when I initially uh did my review of all the features for Vancouver um I left this checkbox here video candidate unchecked and I was running through and looking at some system properties and ran across the way to disable this feature and I was like well now that's a video candidate because I could see somebody not wanting this to be part of their instance whether that's production or even sub production so what the new feature is sorry I open the wrong menu if you go to your help menu you usually get product help depending on what page you're on what's new is this provide feedback button and this is throughout the instance wherever you click on help when you do this you get this popup dialogue where you can talk about or respond to your experience about the product um about what you're doing leave some messages for service now and submit and that goes to service now it doesn't go to the admin team it doesn't go to the team that's supporting service now as product feedback for service now now I don't know about you but when I was a system owner I would want this feedback because what if the product feedback was about how we had configured service now not necessarily about the how the product works but maybe we limited features or maybe we uh designed things a certain way and we need that feedback so this totally bypasses the team that supports the instance so let's check out how we can actually disable this what I want you to do is go to your all menu type in cisor properties. l or list and you're going to go to system properties and the way I got to it is I was actually browsing through uh system properties and stumbled across it but you can get there faster if you type in Star feedback and we should have a um we should have a property Glide UI product feedback enabled and if you set this to false um it will disable that feature so make sure you're in the right application scope you want to be in Polaris app shell application in order to change that and you could double click on it here change it to false or you could open the system property and change it there by just changing this value from True to false now if I click on the help menu now you can still see it still says provide feedback but I will hit the refresh button that you cannot see on my screen and then we'll check out that again and now my provide feedback button is gone from The Help menu that's it that's all I wanted to show you in this video If you like this video please like please subscribe or share it with somebody who you think might be interested in directing feedback to the team that support service now rather than direct to service Nows product teams and until next time don't forget to always be [Music] learning
