foreign this is Daniel Slocum I'm an itam technical practice director here at Glide fast and I want to talk to you today a little bit about the software lifecycle report modifications that have taken place or should I say enhancements that have taken place in the Vancouver release of software Asset Management from servicenow so I've shared my screen here to show you the differences from the Tokyo release and the Utah release to what is in Vancouver so here on the left side is Tokyo which is the same as Utah you'll note that we're in the software lifecycle reports table there's a scheduled job here I'll show it to you scheduled job which is Sam generate data for software lifecycle report which populates this table on a regular basis based off of the discovery models and software models in your instance so what you get then is the full lifecycle report for the details that are in your specific instance so here on the left we have Tokyo and note across the top we have publisher product version full version edition software model installs product owner lifecycle phase here's where things start to get different here on the other side publish your product version full edition Edition software models it could be multiple owners and instead of product owner and this could have multiple installs which you also have and then we begin to look at the life cycle phase so the major difference here is that servicenow has removed the life cycle phase column in favor of four different phased columns that give you better granularity and visibility into the life cycle so it now shows you the current phase the current phase start date the next phase that it will encounter which is called upcoming phase in the upcoming phase start date so again we have life cycle phase being essentially phased out it's removed from the table in place of that we now have current phase current phase start date upcoming phase and upcoming phase start date so for those of you who have been leveraging this table for reports be prepared that that column life cycle phase will be going away and the new columns which add better granularity current phase current phase start date upcoming phase upcoming phase start date will give you significant better visibility into your life cycle so again software lifecycle reports I'm going to uh just drop on top of here just a little graphic I put together it's really cheesy but I thought it'd be simple how do you get here how do you access the software lifecycle report should this be something that you have never used well copy Sam write down our type Sam software product lifecycle report all with underscores dot list into the all the filter Navigator click the enter button or command or whatever it happens to be on a Mac I'm a Windows guy so it's enter for me and it will take you to this table and then just to recap lifecycle phase removed the lifecycle phase column in favor of the four new phase columns so there you have it folks software lifecycle reports from the Vancouver release of servicenow Sam [Music]
