foreign [Applause] [Music] and welcome to employee experience product demo Series this is pretty Gupta outbound product manager with unified employee experienced product team and today we will be covering curated experiences curated experiences is the term used to describe functionality available with employee Center that makes content Discovery easy and employee Centric curated experiences create experiences across the portal that makes it effortless for your employees to find and explore content that is relevant for them there are a bunch of different widgets different pages and different experiences that we have created which are together called curated experiences for example we have a popular topics widget right on the home page with surfaces topics which are of most interest between your peers or users with similar profile other functionalities include included with curated experiences are Dynamic topic pages and the mega menu navigation included as part of employee Center header curated experiences essentially eliminates the need for employees to go to different pages to explore different kind of content so before curated experiences let's say if a user needs help with an issue on his laptop should he be going to service catalog to raise a request or should he be going to knowledge base to find out what Solutions are available for self-serve users would be often confused going back and forth between these different pages and it was not a good experience but with curated experiences we have created topic Pages which actually has knowledge articles catalog items and quick links all placed on the topic page which it is relevant for talking about licenses curator experience functionalities like Mega menu taxonomy topics Dynamic topic Pages popular topics widget is available for both employee Center and employee Center Pro the actionable content experience banner and the videos are available with employee Center Pro only now let's say as an end user for employee Center Pro portal I want to request an IT asset I navigate to The Maker menu on the top which is part of the employee Center header and when I click on the topics on that header I would be able to explore all the different sub topics that are covered within that topic each of these topics would lead to a topic page where topic owners could link catalog items knowledge articles quick links employee Communications under a single page this eases the discovery process for the employees let me click on the ID topic page here on this it topic page I can see all the ID related subtopics on the top and relevant content mapped here which may be a knowledge article or a catalog item on the right hand side I see quick links my applications or even related news items widget let me click on this catalog item here to request the IIT asset that I came looking for once I click on the catalog item I would be able to see the catalog item details here and request directly by click clicking on this order now button here now the entire curated experiences functionality is driven by unified content taxonomy unified taxonomy also called as content taxonomy is a collection of hierarchical topics that brings together different content types like request articles quick links employee Communications across departments into a single employee-centric taxonomy unified taxonomy brings together all these different content types and tags it to a three-tier topic structure for example the out of the box taxonomy shipped with your instance is called employee taxonomy and one of the parent topic is called it the first level of child topic would be hardware and the next level of child topic would be computers you could of course configure this taxonomy topics as per your organizational needs but our recommendation would be to not go beyond three tiers it is a it is recommended to clone the out of the box employee taxonomy in order to modify add or create an organizational specific hierarchy content authors can tag catalog items knowledge articles employee Communications like videos campaigns or announcements or even applications or quick links to the taxonomy topics once the content is tagged to the taxonomy topics admin can apply user criteria to Define which content is available to Any Given user for instance in the above quarter example parent topic it could have a number of child topics like Hardware software security network developer Services Etc and Hardware could have various other child topics like computers printers accessories phones Etc for the child topic computers could have various catalog items like incident request new laptop requests monitor request Etc linked to it apart from that computers topic could have various knowledge articles also linked to it like resources guiding users for cell service it topic could also have few quick links external applications or communication announcements stacked to that topic also each topic would have a topic microsite built onto that page for easy communication of additional details to the employees like team members overlooking that topic or help desk details we'll be covering this demo in three parts in the first part we'll learn how to clone the out of the box employee taxonomy that is shipped with employee Center after cloning the out of the box taxonomy you could modify the taxonomy topics as per your organizational needs we'll see how you could add a new topic here in the second part we will see how to link a knowledge article to a taxonomy topic and in the third part we will see how to link a catalog item to a taxonomy topic let's move on to the dim now on your instance navigate to content taxonomy taxonomies click the default employee taxonomy click on clone enter the new taxonomy name and click OK this copies the taxonomy and its contents to the new taxonomy optionally you could manually create a taxonomy and add your topics there now we'll modify this taxonomy here we are going to create a new topic under this taxonomy called teams migration I'll add this topic under the parent topic of it and put the order as 200. I'll add a small description here I can probably add an icon as well I could choose a file for the icon click ok and I already have an icon here and just click update your new topic will be created now we need to associate this taxonomy to the portal that is being configured for that we'll navigate to service portal under that go to portals select the portal that you are trying to configure here I'll select employee Center and now we'll have to link this taxonomy um the newly created taxonomy to the portal that we are trying to configure then click on this edit button now please be one mindful that these has to be done separately need step I'll just uh remove this existing taxonomy that has been linked click on Save and then go back to map the new taxonomy just a second probably the taxonomy that we created is not active yes so make sure that the previous taxonomy has been deactivated deactivated update click on the new taxonomy make it active update then go back to the service portals portal employee Center click on the edit button of the taxonomy this is the newly created taxonomy double click to mark it with the employee Center click on Save now the newly created taxonomy has been linked to our employee portal now I have already shown you how to deactivate the existing taxonomy and activate the newly configured taxonomy this step is done so that the search configurations pick up the content from the new taxonomy only now that we have created the new topic themes migration and activated our new taxonomy we'll learn how to link the knowledge article to taxonomy topics we can do that in two ways the first approach is and I'll um tell you you have to navigate to you have to navigate to knowledge articles under this I have already published two articles that I want to link with my newly created topic of teams migration this is the first topic that I want to link and this article has already been published I can simply go to assigned topics here if you are not able to see this related links you can simply go to this context menu right click click on configure configure related list and from there you'll be able to select this Con connected content knowledge then you will be able to see this assign topics in this related links once you are able to see this you can simply click on ADD here select the taxonomy select the topic and the newly created topic click ok now you have successfully linked this knowledge article to our new topic click on update now there is one another article that I want to link to my topic and for that I'll be using the second approach so I'll simply go to navigate to content taxonomy topics this is the newly created topic that I want to edit I can see the knowledge article that we have just linked to this topic is already available here now I need to link the new cat knowledge category for that I'll click on this add or remove content from categories please be mindful that this capability is only available with Utah instance and above I'll select the content type as knowledge and under under my knowledge base I have already created a new category under it this is themes migration so I'll just select it and click save you've seen this notification we are adding the content from your selected category to this topic through an event so it will be the all the related content all the knowledge articles related to this topic will be associated with this topic see this new knowledge article that I wanted to associate with this topic has now been Associated right similarly the last part of the demo how to link a catalog item to the taxonomy topic you can do it similarly uh whatever catalog item category you want to associate you can select this category from here and Link it or another approach is to do it via the connected content tab so under the connected content you can click on new select the content type as catalog item then select the catalog item that you want to link I am looking for teams migration catalog item so yes I have this catalog item already created that's called teams migration assistance I simply click on this and submit now this new catalog item has been linked to my topic how it's going to look I'll just impersonate a user this is the new taxonomy that we created under which we can see the ID topic and this is the new topic that we created under this taxonomy teams migration and these are the two knowledge articles that we link and this is the catalog item that feeling foreign
