Technology Workflow Vancouver Release CCM DB & Storage Optimization
[Music] thank you hi everyone and welcome to the now platform Vancouver release feature update my name is Elvis Pena and I'm a solution consultant here at servicenow with the focus on it Asset Management I'm going to be demonstrating and providing information on our Cloud cost management Solution on the platform specifically on the storage and database optimization feature within CCM which is a part of the not platform Vancouver release now this presentation may contain forward-looking statements that reflect the current beliefs of servicenow and are based on current information available now these forward-looking statements should not be relied upon in making any purchasing decisions So today we're addressing a common challenge many organizations face which is the lack of detailed insight into specific Cloud spender categories particularly storage and databases now this not only actually hinders the growth of finops processes but also complicates showbacks or chargebacks escalating the overall cost associated with those cloud-based Solutions so to meet the challenge head on we're now introducing the optimization features in our Cloud cost management tool now this tool provides a comprehensive view of our major Cloud expenditures offering actionable recommendations to help find out teams without Architects and other key personnel to reduce costs and Foster accountability across their organizations now this release we're focusing on optimizing two critical areas storage and databases which are aiming to streamline both infrastructure and platform Services now this is more than a tool it's a solution designed to support your team in reducing overall spending lowering the Developmental and operational costs of cloud Solutions promoting a more sustainable and economically efficient Cloud management strategy but basically the summary is that we're now supporting storage and database optimization across the three Cloud providers including AWS Azure and also Google Cloud now that being said we're going to go ahead and jump over to the not platform and show you the storage and database optimizations within the cloud cost management workspace so we're now in the cloud cost management workspace which is new for our Vancouver release now this is the landing page for CCM so as a fin ops manager one of the first things we want to understand is what is our spending for a particular month and how does that spending correlate to the previous months and how does that forecast end so we can actually get that information very quickly in the form of widgets here where we can see our total budget for the month we can also get a total spend through the middle of the month and how high or low that forecast is going to be towards the end of the month here now this is also going to be color coordinated so if it is green then we know we are trending less and then red if we are trending higher now from that we can also go down and get a more in-depth analysis of our monthly spending Trends we can set a specific time range here starting from this month all the way down to 12 months and from there we're going to get reporting on our three major Cloud providers so AWS Azure as well as Google Cloud now towards right here we'll notice some recommendations for cost savings on this list so here itself we notice the recommendations for all the three major service categories so we have that storage that database and also that compute and again these are going through across all three major Cloud providers and all the use cases of optimizations we have for this product such as right sizing unused and also that reservation plans another way of looking into these recommendations for storage and database is if we hit view all we're going to be able to see all of our use cases here as far as right sizing unused resources reservations and savings plans and then business hours if we move forward and select one of these use cases filter this by service category and group them we're going to be able to get a separate list of those different service categories so we have that compute list the database list and also the storage list here these are all expandable so we can go ahead and give us a breakdown as to each one of these new recommendations corresponding to each one of their service categories so this concludes a high level overview of storage and database optimizations within the cloud cost management workspace through the Vancouver release of the servicenow platform a full list of additional features and fixes for existing products can be found on our product documentation website at docs.servicenow.com thank you for listening in today and don't forget to check out our other medical release session videos
