foreign [Music] Johnson I am having a pinch me moment I am so thrilled to be meeting you in real life we've met on LinkedIn I was doing servicenow coaching bringing in people who had for breaking into the ecosystem to come on and meet a mentor do that on a live stream and you are one of the people early on who came on board bravely boldly came on board and here we are at knowledge 2023 I want to ask you a few questions but I first I want to congratulate you on Landing your first roll thank you so very much I'm so grateful to be here and to meet you tell me about how did you end up at knowledge23 because I understand there was a particular program that you were associated with sure so I completed the next gen program in December of 2022 and I was invited by service now as a participant that now has found employment through the program to come and talk about my experience with other potential employers so that people are more aware about the opportunities that the next gen program can provide and also the skills that graduates from the next gen program have so that employers are more confident to hire them and give them the opportunity to hopefully Bridge some of the gaps that we have within the industry and fill the openings out of there shortly after our time on the live speed coaching and let me just be clear I'm not taking any credit for anything that you have have accomplished you've landed your first role tell me about that role the type of work that you're doing sure I am an engineer with American Family Insurance it's a remote position and I am the primary engineer for the service portals that all of our employees use to access any information that they need to complete their work to submit incidents and get assistance that they need so so far I've been making some changes that have been in the backlogs to make the user experience better for employers that use the portal and make it more efficient and seamless I'm so incredibly proud of you I just have to say it and I've said it many times but I am so incredibly proud of you now tell me a bit about the next gen program because that is a program that you benefited from yesterday at Bill McDermott's keynote speech he talked a great deal about rise up his bold and ambitious plan to scale up one million people in the servicenow ecosystem by the end of 2024. you are direct recipient of that as am I tell me some maybe there's some words of advice you can offer people who are transitioning into service now what are some words of advice you can offer Network everyone that I have met in this ecosystem has not only been incredibly friendly but so open to lend their um social capital and their experience any opportunities that they have to us and so meet people you never know about the opportunities that exist if you don't talk to the people that have those opportunities or know the people that have those opportunities so don't be afraid I know that it can be very intimidating to you know cold call cold email people walk up to people that you don't know but I have not had a bad experience yet and I'm still Blown Away by the opportunities that I have by where my life is now so I would just encourage everyone to take that leap do it do it afraid if you're scared do it scared but you have so much to gain from it final question Asia Johnson what is your superpower oh my superpower is well with regards to my work my superpower is making things efficient I am so good at making things efficient and seeing the potential for processes and the potential to improve the way that we do things and so I use it in my personal life in my professional life and it's taken me very far and you heard it here I'm Kylie Alexander and we are at servicenow knowledge 2023 and we are with Asia the queen of efficiency Johnson let's go
