foreign and I'm a technical consultant here at Glide fast today I am going to demonstrate one of the newest features coming in with the user release which is going to make our jobs a little easier while designing catalog items have you come across the scenario where you need to display variable values depending on another variable for example I have the requested email and Department understand the laptop catalog item and I need to Auto populate the email and Department based upon the requester in Prior releases my first thought would have been to create a script include and then use the script include in a non-change file script to Auto populate these values will get what and the uter release that has been made much more easier and much more passive to make this change you go to the catalog item and open your target variable we will begin with the requested email you will notice on the variable form you now have a section called Auto populate for dependent question we simply select our Target variable in our case it's going to be requested the reference is auto populate to the user table as that is the table the request to references and now on the dot work path you have the option to Auto populate any of these values let's go ahead and select email and save and now if I go back to my standard laptop catalog item and reload it requesters email now Auto populate to my email address let's do the import requesters Department we open our variable rather populate with the library requester and dot walk path simply select Department go back to the portal and reload and requesters department now Auto Select to my department even if I change the requester the email and Department are going to change as we need that was all for today thank you for watching [Music]
