hey this is Brad from servicenow I'm here with John from zebra and we're just going to talk a little bit about the new integration we're coming out with between zebra motion works and then servicenow Hardware asset or Enterprise Asset Management John my first question for you is what is RFID technology so radio frequency ID RFID technology is a way to to capture what we used to capture with human readable or a barcode but um to do it without a direct line of sight so to be able to capture that in an automated way without necessarily having to put a laser beam on a barcode we can we can fill an area with it with an RFID reader and then just read the RFID inlay on a back of a label or an encapsulated RFID so that we can we can automatically identify whatever it is we have tagged very cool and so my follow-up question would be is with the technology why would that be important for asset tracking or Asset Management so really to automate that whole process to be able to understand where something is all the time or in real time without someone necessarily having to scan a barcode or or go and capture a location right so we can we can capture that in real time with a with an RFID reader a tagged asset goes through the zone of a reader and we know that it went through there with no transcription errors no you know what time was it I didn't write that down sort of information it's automated it's real time and it's very precise yeah and then you know last question there's obviously a lot of applications where you could use that but when you think of managing Hardware assets or potentially Enterprise assets what's a use case that comes top of mind to you when you're leveraging this technology well certainly in in the it assets uh realm keeping track of who's been assigned what assets where they were last seen uh using a system like servicenow to understand what's the you know what's the schedule that you want to go on for maintenance or or end of life or something like that but but to be able to add to that the automated you know with without any extra human effort to automate that process of knowing when it was seen where it was seen how it was seen and then uh some of our other customers for instance will use it in manufacturing and processing you know has has whatever I'm manufacturing gotten through process a b c hasn't been shipped out the door that sort of thing and then certainly as well in the hospital arena for instance in healthcare understanding where key critical pieces of infrastructure are key tools assets like that and cool well John thank you for your time and answering these questions for us of course servicenow zebra we thank you for your time
