Bubble Chart Data Visualization
foreign [Music] it's Justin thank you for watching and welcome to my house in this video I got a short one for you it has to do with data visualizations in platform analytics workspace but I'm gonna do it from my new workspace because on my new workspace when it got created through app engine Studio I actually got a tab in the workspace for uh platform analytics it doesn't say that like it says analytics Center but I can do my analytics just like I was in platform analytics workspace which is right here if you wanted to see where I normally would go do this but now I could do it from within my workspace so in Utah we got some new data visualizations and one of those was a bubble tart and Bubbles sound like fun I was like what can I make a bubble chart out of so if you look there above my head we've got our different options here and one of them is a bubble I'm going to click on that no content at the moment so let's go ahead and select a data source I was trying to think of something that had three dimensions of data because you know with a bubble chart you got your X you know your y-axis you got your x-axis and then the bubble size is usually a third dimension so the only thing I had in my collection of stuff that I had ready was my SSH episodes there's an episode there's a number of applications there's a number of new applications number of updated applications highlights release note fails fixes compatibility updates yada yada so I was like okay that's a couple of Dimensions so let's try that this is what it did when I tried that so I was like well that's just applications on the x-axis they have applications on the y-axis and then a count of apple or the account of the episodes and the as for that so I'm going to just change some of these values I'm going to go ahead and change the count I'm going to change this to a sum and what I want it to sum up is the number of applications that are in the episode so that should start altering my bubble sizes right there Then for my x-axis I'm going to say I want to see along the x-axis the number of new releases in that episode so that should give me some variation there and along the y-axis another one that I'm actually interested in is what did I highlight during the episode so let me put that on the y-axis and now I've got a good visual in my bubble chart of all the SSH episodes that I've done using my new um my new application not the ones that I have many more recorded um actually let me just give this a Title Here SSH episodes uh bubble chart looks better than Untitled like I said there for a second and just click out okay that looks better so now I've got in this episode there are three new releases and 42 highlights in this one there was 4 and 36. now it's interesting I'm not sure what is actually showing I don't have an episode name that would be really helpful to actually see the episode name that we're actually looking at but this is actually if I click on it it'll take me to the episode so that's cool that it's interactive so there's SSH version 3 10 2023 and it says undefined so there must be some kind of other aggregation that's going on when I'm summing these up and um actually let me just add a group here we'll we'll Group by the um episode title let's try that and see if that changed oh that looks pretty cool so I've got some colors now and I've got my episode title that's much better okay so there's 310 there's 4 14. there's 421 32 highlights six new releases um I just released an episode I wonder where that one's sitting at that should be 428. um it was actually quite a big episode uh it's right behind my head so let me move my head out of the way so it's saying there was only 10 highlights and 19 new releases so it's way over here on the x-axis because it had a lot of new releases but it's really low because there wasn't that many updates so Other Extreme here would be a lot a lot of highlights but not many new releases three new releases above my head there so that is the new bubble chart in the data visualization tool in platform analytics workspace that I got through got to through my analytics Center in my new workspace I hope you found this video helpful if you did please like please subscribe or share with somebody who you think might be interested in messing around with bubble charts and servicenow and until next time don't forget to always be learning [Music] foreign [Applause] [Music]
