this video we will discuss what the announcement module is its benefits and how we can use it out in service now so let's get started and understand what is announcer modeling service now so the announcement module is a feature in servicenow that allows administrator to create and manage important announcement for users this announcement can be used to inform user about new updates changes maintenance or any other important information for the user that need to be aware what are the benefits of announcement model you must be thinking so you can use benefit you can take down the benefits of an awesome model like uh it can it can be used to keeping user informed about the new change in maintenance window and all it's pretty easy to curate okay and it's the most important aspect of its like it's a targeted communication it's used for Target communication so for uh if you ask me we work into a giant module right okay where we have a Sprint of two two weeks so whenever we complete the Sprint it's always essential to know to let the end user know what new features are coming down the line right this information to the end user so without wasting any more time okay let's get started with the tutorial so as you can see on my screen this is a service now instance okay and in order to navigate to this announcement module what you have to do you have to just go to the printer Navigator and try announcement and here you can see under service portal model which comes into now now experience framework okay we can see this announcement module see if you click on this announcement module a list will you will appear okay which has bunch of existing mod existing announcements again so we'll be creating a new one so I will click on new anyhow you can start filling the form okay the first time Pharmacy in name of the announcement so I will just give it like um no more come on title we can give we are about you complete 4K subscribers okay we are just few subscribers we have dismiss option so in dismiss option is like you don't want a certain message you don't want to showcase user again and again right so the first option is when a user dismisses the message there is no red display so it will not be visible again it's a one-time dismiss is gone okay if the second option is for the current session if a person dismisses a message for current session so it will not be shown on the current session okay but again if you launch the new session that particular message will come again as I said it's like where you don't want user to distance the message only so for this I will just make it user cannot dismiss it because I want to showcase this I want you to celebrate it outright and you can simply save it out so once it's saved okay now you was thinking where exactly we can see this message so for that what we will do will open the portal policy so I will just duplicate this out let's remove this and we can simply type ESC or you can add portal so es stands for employee Center home page right okay so you can see over here at the banner so this is a service portal for you and you can see at the banner we have this message we okay but as we have in this particular message no one can uh no one can remove right okay we have just made the dismiss as false that's all there is no x mark over here this above message is coming as a part of urgent one right that's how it's showing in red and also it has the option to dismiss okay so a person get distribution out from there and then if they refresh it will not be shown to them so this is really important model if you want to forecast your information okay forecast any updates to the end user because end user will be using the employee Center only right so they can get this message over there
