in this video we'll Import in s mine key pair which is used to sign outbound emails or decrypt inbound emails this task is part of setting up S mime for email before we begin we should ensure that a cryptographic file format is pkcs12 and the pkcs 12 file is created with a key alias on the email accounts page we choose the instance email account whose email address we want to associate the key pair with note that the S mime key pair must be uploaded corresponding to an instance email account we select the import s mine key pair link this creates a basic cryptographic module now let's modify the default crypto specifications the algorithm definitions are fine let's move on to life cycle definitions here we'll delete the system generated entries and create the keys manually on the following screens first we'll upload the key certificate by providing the key alias note that the origin field should be import from pkcs12 next we'll select the import key link provide the password and select the key pairs pkcs 12 file the S mine key pair is uploaded to the instance in the module Keys tab we can find the system generated records for the private and public keys you can use these keys to continue setting up S mime for administering your email for more information see our product documentation or knowledge base or ask a question in the servicenow community
