Video Shorts: Task Bundling
foreign [Music] let's review task bundling now I'm logged in as our most popular dispatcher Lisa Ray but note that this could also be an individual who qualifies tasks prior to making them available for scheduling so in reviewing the list view my dispatch queue or even a personalized saved list I can sort tasks by location by geography work type assignment group or other Criterion upon when I select multiple tasks a new action button called create bundle appears and upon selection of that button our bundle is created here I can review it to see all the relevant information and I can select the bundled tasks related list to add even more tasks or perhaps remove tasks as appropriate here we can see how easy it is to add tasks now similarly I can select one or more of the tasks in the bundle to remove them from the bundle now once the bundle is qualified or ready for dispatch we can assign directly from that bundle or we can use the drag and drop capability within the dispatcher workspace to assign the work now at the top of the list on the left of our pending tasks we can see our bundle and its details including that it's comprised of two tasks and the dispatcher can drag and drop the task for assignment in this case assigning it to Avery parball for this Wednesday as of Utah we support either manual assignment or drag and drop assignment so here we've assigned the job but note that we can also unbundle the task within the dispatcher workspace by selecting the actions on the card we'll review that in a minute but first let's review how the technician views the assignment so I'm logged into the agent app as our agent our technician Avery parball note that our technician isn't aware of any bundle do they really need to be instead our technician executes their assigned work as normal they're pleased that there are multiple tasks after one another at the same location reducing their need to travel and improving their productivity time in fact in certain situations they may even be able to do some of the work from both tasks simultaneously for example perhaps they have to perform a system update and they have downtime as that system updates in that time they can start on that next task at the same location while the previous one is still in process thereby saving time for the company the point is the bundle doesn't impact them other than reducing their travel time and their frustration now back to dispatcher workspace I previously mentioned that there are times when a task needs to be unbundled to do so the dispatcher can simply select the task and select the unbundle option from that list now the tasks are removed from the bundle in place side by side in this case because they're at the same location and there's no travel time between them however if the tasks were bundled because they're merely in close proximity we would see the relevant time the travel time between those work order tasks
