foreign your personal developer instance or PDI is the go-to place to practice developing applications and sharpen your acts in the servicenow platform and right now I'm going to walk you step by step through how to obtain your own free personal developer instance hi I'm Kylie Alexander technical trainer here at Glide fast now to get started let's log into the developer site at developer.servicenow.com let's head over there now all right so as you see once you log in and if you haven't created account be sure to do so once you log in you'll see a couple different pop-ups and one of them says you are ready to create something great what best describes your job responsibilities now this is optional I'm going to go ahead and put in developer and as you should be sure to read the developer site terms of use it gives some really important information about how you are allowed to use your PDI I'm going to select the check box and select finish setup all right so here we are this is the home page of the developer site at the very top right hand corner you'll see your initials plus the button that says request instance let's go ahead and select that button and here comes a pop-up we are processing your request this will only take a few seconds now rest assured your personal developer instance is being spun up and while we're waiting let's talk about a few important guidelines to keep you in good standing number one your personal developer instance once it's an active for 10 consecutive days will be released that means that you'll no longer have access and you'll have to request another instance assuming that some are available so be sure you build on a pretty regular basis and secondly your personal developer instance is as the name suggests is personal and it's never to be used for business purposes or production purposes in fact if you do so you can get into some pretty big trouble with the PDI authorities so keep those two things in mind now while we're waiting let's head on back to see if our instance is ready so as you see you have this little indicator here saying the instance is still being set up now this may take up to 20 minutes but rest assured there is some magic that is taking place for you and just shortly your instance will be ready and when your instance is ready you can start building now keep in mind build frequently observe the guidelines and watch the video on the next screen where I'll walk you through the next experience unified navigation I'll see you there [Music] thank you [Music]
