Import · Apr 19, 2022 · video

in this video we'll show you the steps for creating your first checklist pro checklist it involves creating a template configuration and template records and associating that configuration with a checklist configuration first you create your template configuration which is just a container for the template records that define each item in your checklist and their characteristics such as what they will say that is the name the type of data it will hold and its order in the list in this example we'll create a checklist with four items a string a check box a custom choice list and a number field [Music] [Music] next we create a checklist configuration record that references this template configuration which contains the definition for each checklist item the checklist configuration record also allows you to define what type of checklist it is in our example it will be a standard checklist what table this checklist will appear on and the conditions in which to create the checklist and when the checklist shall be editable in our example we'll are creating a standard checklist to appear on an incident table when the category is software and the subcategory is email and when the state is open or in progress we'll define this checklist to be editable by the person this checklist is assigned to and only if the checklist is in open or in progress state next let's define closed conditions for this checklist you define closed conditions when you want to enforce required fields and also protect against checklist edits after the record that the checklist is on is closed closed conditioned handling is done by creating a business rule with an api call to a checklist pro function we've built an easy to apply template that will pop up if you've not yet built such a business rule for the table you were on we recommend adding the name of the table to the business rule after you've saved the business rule you are now able to define conditions for this table that constitute when the record is considered closed by using the condition builder to define the closed record conditions in this example it will be whenever the incident state is resolved closed or cancelled one final step is adding the checklist pro formatter to the form view on the table where your checklist was defined [Music] let's go back to our checklist configuration and change one of our items to be required we will go to the template record that we want to be required and change that value [Music] [Music] now when we go back to the checklist we will see the required field reload the form page complete the required checklist item then resolve the email and the incident closes as you would expect if you reopen the incident you will see that because the record is considered closed we can no longer edit the checklist
