foreign [Music] it's Justin thank you for watching and welcome to my house that's Justin's house in this video I want to show you a new feature in Utah that is applicable to flow designer I actually stumbled across this I had heard a little bit about it but hadn't experienced it until I found it um I'm still trying to retrieve all the release note details and pull them in and I went to what I had configured for my Tokyo stuff you can see here release retrieve release note page details well this is a flow in the old way that I did it and since I've learned a lot after doing this I want this to be a subflow in my new application my new application is not going to be released specific and I was like well what how do I get this into a subflow and for the first one I just recreated it until I figured out how this works in Utah there is a new button next to actions here called select multiple when you click on this it's going to give you check Boxes by each action in flow designer and when you check those like for instance I want all of these actions in my subflow when I check those it lights up a operations box right here and the operations box if I click the little um Arrow or I guess that's a it's a subflow symbol um is what it is maybe I'll zoom in on it and post now I can create a subflow name so we're just going to call this um get release note page details I'm not going to give it any put inputs or outputs at this moment I'm just going to leave it like it is I'm going to convert it to a subflow and that is super super helpful if you're like me a lot of times will go in and start creating a flow and then I'll get to like a couple different for Loops or you know it gets to so many steps I'm like oh I really should have done a subflow for this especially once you start to learn how much more efficient and faster those subflows are than the flows are this is going to be big this is going to be huge and we can convert them really quickly and by really quickly I'm gonna have to edit out how long that took because it wasn't really quickly and I'll point out something else that I'm a little disappointed in my app right now is actually a an app called servicenow release notes and this created the subflow in the application that that flow was in which was application Tokyo features but let's look at here let's go and see what my scope is actually the service now release notes that didn't quite do what I wanted yes it created a subflow but it's still in my old application for Tokyo so I'm going to go up here to the right and I'm going to copy the subflow which as you can see there is going to put it in my new application let's try this and my new application right here I forgot that I had the the pen on right there so I'm just going to get rid of this copy of because I am in a different scope and I want to probably delete that one from Tokyo I'll do get release note page details copy that and now that will be how I want now still I didn't have to manually recreate a subflow and if you've used flow designer you know how difficult that is because when you move from one of these tabs up here to another tab there's a little penalty for uh kind of waiting let's try that again this tab these tabs up here if I switch between these there's like this waiting penalty and you can see it kind of happening here this processing if you try to do anything before that processing is finished there's kind of just some weird UI glitchiness and so the it's not easy to switch between tabs and recreate something it's kind of a pain so already even though I had that application issue which is unique to what I'm doing probably not unique to someone who's actually developing something within an application and needs to convert certain items from a flow into a subflow like you see here but that's it that's the new Utah feature I hope you found this video helpful if you did please like Please Subscribe or share it with somebody who you think might be interested in new Utah features and efficiencies and improvements to flow designer in service now and until next time don't forget to always be learning followers [Music] [Applause] [Music]
