the chat I've already seen some familiar names um very very nice to see you here and uh um like like people have already started please share where you're dialing in from It's Always it's always lovely to see like representation from all over the world um I'm I'm dialing in from Seattle it's a little early here from my standards but it's um it's it's it's looking to be a great thing so I'm already seeing Belgium Florida Indiana police Canada New Jersey amazing UK India London yep through good gray morning in Seattle it looks it looks as good as it can be Poland more from India I know it's pretty late for people in India so thank you so much for joining wow love love the representation from all over the world we can probably do at some point like you know like a weather map for like what people have like facing across the participants and I'm sure we'll get quite colorful uh like map okay couple more minutes and then we'll get started this meeting does not have um audiences access to speak um this is set up as a webinar but when we get to the Q a channel time um you can raise your hand I believe and we can give you a rights to talk so um meanwhile please please put all your questions in the Q a panel and the comments and and anything that you want to share and interact with each other on the chat with that I think we're all ready to get started so again a good morning good afternoon and good evening for everyone on the call today our topic for today is getting started with employee Center um this is a live on servicenow webinar and we will be giving you a foundational overview of of just all features and functionalities associated with employee Center my name is Puja Gupta I am the speaker for this session today I'm a Staff product manager with servicenow um in their unified employee experience team um I have a team of really awesome people um Manning the Q a um for us today so please post your questions um and and um they will they will help me respond to them I'll try to take as many as I can like them like I mentioned this this webinar that you are attending today is part of a series of different webinars meetups and Academy sessions that are kinda under the bracket of live on service now and the topics range not just from employee Center but they're also an its image or SD item and and all the other different topics that you could think of um as you are working with servicenow you would see that the link for this in the chat right now please please bookmark it I would say and uh um um follow it for any of the events that you may be interested in we do a lot with employee Center as well so it's a great way to know what's happening with employee Center um in terms of some basic housekeeping you are all on mute so you've got that's all taken care of um if you have a question feel free to raise your hand um but um please use the Q a feature otherwise to ask your questions throughout the session like I said um I'm looking at the Q a there are also a lot of other panelists who are experts in this field and are going to be helping address your questions um if you do talk please introduce yourself it's always nice to hear um who are you and and it's it'll be great for others to hear that as well um then this session is recorded and it will be shared by a community so please don't worry about taking notes and and the slides as well as the recording will be shared it takes about a week so it's not that it will be available tomorrow itself it takes about a week um for everything to be ready to be posted publicly um but you will have the links and after the session ends you will be prompted a short survey so um so we will really appreciate it if you can just spend a couple of minutes to take that like with every session that you have with the product team there may be some forward-looking statements if there is an opportunity if there is a need I might like talk about what we have in the roadmap so wanna definitely bring out the Safe Harbor notice please um please use that information with this um with this notice in mind now just to get us warmed up for the session let's start with the poll and the question that I have for you um is how familiar are you with employee center now this is going to be a very basic getting started uh session so um this information will kind of help me gauge on where I should play emphasis on okay just give a minute for people to respond okay the good news is we are seeing a lot of people who are somewhat familiar or not familiar so you are at the right place um this is going to be um a session where once you finish um hopefully you will walk through with a very good understanding of what to expect from employee Center and how it is different in terms of the experience that we're trying to create okay um I let people stay on for a few minutes but I'm seeing like almost over 90 so almost 97 are either not familiar or somewhat familiar so that's that's awesome um yeah so with the audience in mind we're going to start with an introduction to employee Center I'll talk about what it is why we built it and so on and then we will dive deeper into um into the features and functionalities I'll also open an instance and walk you through it um and then and then we will jump in and do additional resources so some of the questions that we are not covering as part of this session and will give you resources to to think about uh how do we migrate onto employee Center or how do we deploy employee Center we are not covering um um the taxonomy design guidelines and like how do you design the experience um we're not covering um we're not covering just the implementation details this this session is about learning what is employee Center and I would say all your next steps we will kind of help you with additional resources and we also have additional sessions that are planned as part of live one service now so um we um we recommend you table those questions for those sessions and focus more on just learning about employee Center in this so let's get started in general if you think about the experience that most organizations are probably even your organization has it's it's more is what you would see on the left hand side of this slide the employee is bombarded with multiple different portal multiple different channels to get help from um they often don't know where they should go to to serve themselves there was there was a common example that they were trying to raise and request um and uh they were on the intranet but they needed to be on the I.T portal um and they were searching on procurement portal so that that's a common scenario that you would see in most organizations the employee has to spend a lot of time just to get to where they can solve for their need and and then the time taken for solving the need is secondary the experience that most employees expect and should be getting is what are on the right hand side like a single place where they don't have to think about you know whether this is the right place this is like like where do I go from here but a single place where they can go for everything that they need and that single place knows what the employee needs are um and how how they what is their preference in terms of serving those needs um it's it's omnichannel it's available to wherever the employee is currently at so there are teams it's available there they're on mobile phones it's available there and the experience is kind of joined or consistent across all these different channels that the employee may be going through that's the intention with which employee Center has been created so if you think about employee Center it is the actionable digital front end that we are creating for organizations not just for Service delivery not just for like you know it Services HR Services workplace services and so on but also for informing and engaging employees with Communications personalized and actionable Communications and driving productivity so these are some of the screenshots that you can see on like employee Center as I said I'll walk you through the portal view of it in this session we are not covering um the mobile aspect of it and conversational Integrations like teams aspect and slack aspect of it but keep that in mind when we are building employee Center it is um it's an um it's a front end that is consistent not just from a portal view but also all the other channels and essentially it is designed to increase self-service Drive Employee Engagement and Improvement by productivity okay when it comes to just the portal aspect of this um our goal is to help organizations move from left to right over here most organizations currently have siled portals so there is a separate portal for ID there is a separate portal for HR there is probably a different portal for Point Solutions um like it could be work day or something else um and and again like there are multiple different places that the manager needs to go to get their tasks done the employee needs to do to make their request and so on we want to help organizations move away from those siled models to an enterprise portal that is multi-department in nature and acts as a single access point for many different applications or many different portals that the employee may have to end up going in now we do have intranet over here but if you will see the subtleness in the color coding um the enterprise portal and the modern intranet they're all at they're both at the same color code and we have we've deliberately done that is because even getting to an enterprise portal and having an intranet separate is a win in terms of experience that the organizations can create and this is pretty much the first step in um in creating a much better experience for your organization So currently most organizations that we speak with are between the siled portals in enterprise portal and organizations who are already thinking way uh who are already way ahead in terms of creating a modern employee experience are thinking about the right hand side ah okay um cool now the slide over here if you were to forget most of the things in the in the session today if you remember this slide and probably keep this slide in your organization um as a as a poster or whatever it tells you everything that you need to know about employment at a nutshell first it is designed to be extremely employee Centric there are there are different personalization aspects everything from targeted content to ml driven recommendations to user-driven personalization with things like favorites it's extremely only Channel as I mentioned and it is designed to unify not just portals and different departmental services but also different content types so often like you know even if you are on a single portal employee had to go to a separate uh page for catalog items or requesting something in a separate port to um to um to browse knowledge so we're trying to unify that experience into a single single umbrella and you will hear me talk a lot about that okay um it's easy to deploy and maintain so when we built employee Center one thing that we did was we built it on the service portal Tech stack so um um if you're familiar we we have this whole Tech stack on service portal um and there are multiple different portals that were built on it we built the employee Center on the same portal so um it is easy to configure um so there are there are like widgets that that can be configured um it can be branded there are 200 plus widgets available for the tech stack which which can be applied to employee Center directly and that's not a customization that's more of a configuration um and then when we built employee Center on on the service portal textile we kind of pre-configured a lot of the design elements that organizations were struggling with so when they built um let's say we had a demo portal called slash SP which a lot of you may be already using um um or or slash ESC both of it both of them came with like like little bare bone experience elements identified so we kind of built and pre-configured a lot of our Design Elements and shipped it out of box and there are a lot of topic Pages there are a lot of pages that are Auto Part automatically populated and dynamic in nature um so it's very easy to deploy in minting thirdly um because it's built on the service portal Tech stack it's easy to extend it's pre-integrated with multiple different X data sources and it is easy to customize and every time when we are building a capability for employee Center we are thinking about how we can make sure it is extensible so as you want to do more with with that functionality you can do so foreign Center is just one portal but it does ship with two packages there is employee Center and there is employee Center Pro employee Center is available to all servicenow customers as part of like as a platform capability and um its main functionality is to like everything that you would need for self-service um for driving a models and service experience there and I'll talk about some of the functionalities around curated experiences multi-department making it extensible all of that is available within price sector employee Center Pro kind of UPS the game in terms of providing a better experience with targeted and actionable Communications with Enterprise search so searching for Content not just within um within servicenow but also searching for external content Integrations with external systems um and bringing for example approvals that are sitting outside into servicenow and showing it in the same border so there's a lot that employee Center Pro is doing to help you consolidate portals to help you engage employees and drive productivity but employee Center Pro requires a separate license or can be licensed via the hrsd pro or Enterprise queue let me pause here and do a quick poll um just because this will help me um understand um um let's start that awesome so you should see the point we just want to understand if you have an important a pro license I will be showcasing um employer Center Pro when we do go on the instance but I'll call out which of those functionalities are pro if you think about the experience ultimately if you just remove the pro widgets um the the experience scales to just be easy so when you move from easy to easy probe you're essentially just adding widgets in the same experience please one of the questions that I'm seeing in the Q a and is often a question that we also get um if if you are um if you don't have any portal implementation you're starting fresh where should you start should you start with EC easy Pro let's say you don't have a license for AC Pro um no matter what where you are the reason why we kind of made employee Center available for all service now customers is because we want organizations to start with a good employee experience um anywhere they are with service now so if you are creating an employee facing portal we recommend you start with employee Central and if you have an employee Center Pro license then of course you would start with employee Center Pro but this is where our product team is investing this is where you would see all the new features and functionalities to come in so um definitely start with employee Center and the good thing about starting with employee Center is like I mentioned a lot of the experience is pre-built so it it can be Plug and Play for you our organization or like you know the most organized like at most um admit those let me say that again majority of organizations have been 95 out of box with employee centered and able to do what they wanted to do so it is um it is and and have been able to deploy within two months um on their own um so it's a great way to get value out of the system pretty quickly okay um I am seeing that there's a lot that don't have an easy Pro license enough it's a good mix of people who have license who are planning to get the license um and that's okay I just wanted to get this information because I will be showcasing employee Center Pro a little bit and feel free to ask any clarifying questions if you see something and you don't know whether it is EC or EC Pro just feel free to call that out okay so let's get into our second half um we will be doing a features walkthrough and there are three main things that I'll focus on um these are more like paradigms or like you know the umbrella things um first one is how are we building a unified search in Brown's experience on uh employee Center second second one is employee Communications and third one is is mostly like you know we are thinking differently about tasking with employee Center and and um I'll focus on that Beyond this there's a lot that's imply centered offers so again I'll Point them out in the additional resources but this would give you the foundational uh at the foundational level what you need to know all right so let's get started with the unified browse and search experience so with with how we are creating the especially the browse experience Service employee Center has kind of initiated or created a new new way of thinking about it and I've introduced what we called unified taxonomy so often like I mentioned earlier people did not know like whether they need to raise a request or whether they can self-serve themselves by reading an article and it is often difficult like it's always a journey for an employee to end up in multiple different places and then get to what they really needed to do um so what we are trying to do is um build um build a unified taxonomy for browsing all the content so if you think of a taxonomy a taxonomy is nothing but a collection of topics it's a hierarchy of topic it's to give you an example it is I.T Hardware computer so if you just think of these three tiers they together for my taxonomy and if you just do that for all different things and ultimately what we are doing in these topics we are tagging content whether that content is quick links catalog items articles Communications or even even applications so anything that is associated with let's pick benefits so all the links that you may have associated with benefits are you target to the top or the request item or catalog items that you have you target to the topic the Articles uh knowledge knowledge articles that you have you would tie it to that Communications let's say you have um like open open enrollment for benefits going on and you have to push out Communications for it you push those out and tag it to the topic applications that need to be accessed for like um submitting the benefits choices all of those are tagged to the topic so at the back end you are just doing this tagging and and what this tagging is kind of creating it's a curated experience for the employee they are searching for the topics they're not searching for the content type so we have when you go in the instance you would see that there is a mega menu on top where the employee is searching what topic does my does my question probably relates to and that topic will give them to a topic page and let me just show you in screenshots and then we'll go on the instance um it gets them to a topic page which basically has within the center of the screen it has all the content that is related to that topic highlighted in one page and the best part is we've seen organizations create an experience like this by having to like you know manually tag um the applications and and the different things that they want people to be able to find um this is dynamically created whatever you tag in the back end is automatically created or available on this page and once on this page um employees can search for Content they can like browse it they can favorite it and and get to the content that they're looking for the admins can also feature content like they want something to be available on the very top they can do things like that to make it easy for people to discover so this is a whole different shift in terms of how content is arranged and made available for employees there's no longer a separate place to search for applications a separate place to get to Communications or a request or knowledge it's all Consolidated into one page and from an admin perspective it works really well because they don't have to worry about making sure this single page is um is accurate relevant and all of that experience design for it is also automatically taken care okay now let me switch gears and show you um um the portal um Can someone just put me put on chat if they're able to see the instance my browser they don't okay let me see is it better now yes okay awesome thank you so what you're looking at over here is employee Center Pro and um um like let me just quickly scroll through it's a pretty rich experience this is completely out of box this is um this is uh the experience that um uh has been created using demo data which we ship out of box now um I'll get to the communication pieces but let's just focus on the browse experience so you would see over here there are all these different uh um menu items and if you take a look it's it's all multi-department in nature and you can browse um with one click this looks slightly different in my view right now but you can browse um all the different topics that are available um for this I just upgraded my system so like this the mega menu looks slightly different it typically opens up uh um horizontally uh not vertically but yeah that the it still holds true you can see all the uh all the um subtopics and topics associated with it when you go to a topic page let's say we go on benefits this is what a topic page looks like it has all the subtopics highlighted associated with it it has the resources that have been tagged to resources essentially meaning uh catalog items or knowledge requests that have been tacked to the um to the topic you can search for it so this is the latest capability that came out as part of our February release and it's going to be available tomorrow for everyone on February 2nd you can search for um content directly from a topic page and have relevant results pop up you can see applications related to that topic right over here and you can favorite all these different applications including applications and you know refer back to them on my favorites page so no matter where you have tagged the favorites from whether it's a topic page or a home page you can actually see them all together in my favorites now let me point out what are the different things if you were on an employee Center Pro so a banner is available um with employee Center too but if you're on employee center Port this can be an actionable communication and I'll talk about Communications shortly applications applications are available with employee Center Pro so anything related with applications are all employee Center Pro so um this basically highlights our browse experience now if you go and search let's say research for um computers this is the experience that we have oh I'm sorry about this I need to fix a few things in my instance looks like um but um um yeah so if you search for this you can see the search results you can see like the top result coming up as a genius result but what is interesting is you would also see the topics or subtopics that are related to the search items show up over here so you can actually filter down and see based on topics what what are the uh called catalog items or knowledge articles or whatever that you're searching for um and how that fits in so what this is doing essentially this is again a new capability that came out in February so you need to be on Utah release and uh and February store release to see that but what you are seeing is the browse experience has kind of brought together with the search experience and research experience that you just saw was AI search so um employee Center does come with AI search okay um so that was about um curated experiences um let me see so we spoke about um just to refresh we spoke about unifying browsing experience um you'll have the slides so you'll have additional details on each of these um that you can you know to scan through in your free time we spoke about Mega value now we didn't spoke or speak about popular topics what we are also doing is like employee doesn't always need to like search for the Mega menu and like browse topics there should be a way to just highlight that he like you're a you are in December and you are searching for um you're on the employee portal you're most likely searching for this topic because all of your peers are searching for these topics so the popular topics essentially highlights the topics that are popular across all users a great way to just like Source content then um um yeah so we spoke about that we can like get into the article view catalog view all the capabilities that you have associated with catalog and art article views all of that still States um it's just the top layer that how these are being surfaced up to the employee that is changing with that taxonomy so anything that you would have done uh or you had available with an article for example flagging an article having having um like some sort of Engagement by saying like is it helpful or not adding comments most views all of those are still available um it's just how those are being surfaced up had that has changed um AI search we spoke about AI search now if you will see this screenshot we are talking about external sources like SharePoint Confluence these are all things that you can actually configure um and and create with employee Center Pro so with employee Center Pro you kind of build Enterprise search by uh bringing in uh by making external Source um available for AI search and and Source content from there as part of the search results um out of box we have a SharePoint search connector and there are a lot of additional connectors available by our partner ratio on Via the servicenow store so if that's an area you're investing you would want to see that we also talk about search on topic pages and and how topics can be um included as topic facets on the search page to kind of bring the browse experience and the search experience together okay um yeah so let me go back on the instance let me show you something so um the other way to search for Content or other way the content relevant content is surfaced up for the employee is recommended for you so if you are employee Center customer um this is mostly going to be um popularity based so here are the articles that are popular in in your employee base um but if you have licenses to our predictive intelligence system that is typically through HRS hrsd Pro or itsm Pro skus um this function widget over here can be machine learning driven so you can look at similarity between employees and say all product managers are looking into this article or all employees based in us are located in this article or based in India are looking into this article so this this can be made very relevant and personalized for the employee using the um using the ml algorithms the other way to surface up um is quick links again this is something available both for EC and EC Pro um and um this is a great way to put external links put links to like frequently accessed things like password reset or system status um or or maybe Pages like orb chart which an employee may have skipped on top so a great way to just um just surface up content if you have been using service portal in past this is like an upgrade of the icon links and you can have images you can configure it in multiple different ways so it's a great way to engage now the other widgets that you are seeing on this screen are EC Pro um and I can walk you through them when we get there most of them are related to Communications um maybe I'll cover one so the applications over here like I mentioned applications is essentially an AC Pro functionality and ultimately what this widget we call it the app launcher what this is helping with is employees shouldn't have to go to a separate portal just to search for applications um so what we have done is we've built Integrations with OCTA and Azure um to um to bring in the applications that an employee is assigned to and uh um um and then surface up over here so the employee can browse all the applications they can favorite it they can access their recent ones and then these applications are also tagged in the topic Pages like I showed earlier making it easier for someone to get to the top application in context to the need or explain something that they're searching for so app launcher functionality EC Pro but again a great way to consolidate photos okay so we will move to um this is the app launcher so we will move to oh wait before that let me talk about one more thing now as you are moving into a multi-department view um organizations typically struggle with like you know we don't want to lose ownership we want to own our own content so we have something called distributed ownership of taxonomy topics so um um essentially you can have let's say um it on their topics and manage all the subtopics associated with it as well as um all the content associated with it so explore this this is um this is a great way to um to make sure that departments are able to own their content and are not always having to go through a central team to get all their questions on our needs served okay let me pause here very quickly where time is running so I'm gonna just take a few questions and then go um go further okay so yeah so I'm seeing some questions in terms of can we have our tab view instead of scrolling down um one of the good things about service portal Tech stack and I would say in service now in general is that you can achieve whatever you want so yes you can have that but it is it's it's not something that is available as a configuration out of box um but we have seen organizations play around with the widgets to make the scrolling um uh much less than what it is I'm also seeing some questions around what is Tokyo versus what is Utah I'm going to differ it to all Community because we we kind of have um like articles and blogs posted which highlight what is what is available as part of each release okay um in the interest of time I'm gonna move to Communications so let's get on my instance again so one of the main things that you would see as you move from EC to AC Pro is this big banner image that you would see right now the one that is showing it your new iPhone right now so ultimately what we are doing here is we have created a a carousel widget which allows multiple different uh Communications to be pushed to the employee now good thing about these communications one they're all actionable so you can actually it's not just a communication but it is you can you can have the action associated with it right there get a new iPhone order it now company Hall All Hands what's the replay right here so um it's it's literally making those Communications actually second these come with um with the backend interface which I will which I will not demo right now but I'll showcase on the slides it comes with a backend interface which makes it super easy to design these and secondly Target them to the employee you can literally say um um you can use user criteria HR criteria or just have selected set of employees that you would want to um you would want to push this communication out to so it's extremely targeted so um the other thing about the widget is you can have a like a like a different layout so you saw the one that with the tabs you can also have it like the one I'm showing on the slides over here and then you can embed videos in it you can scale it you can like do a lot of different things to make it look and feel the way you want for your organization now this is the view that I was talking about uh for the back end if you would see the screenshot on left um there are a lot of different options and these options are like low code no code they're like buttons or drop down menus that will kind of make it easy for you to design the image that you want for your communication and it comes with an integrated image editor so no longer you have to like edit the image outside of service now put it back in and all of that you can do you can do all of that within the same framework and last but not the least it is it comes with a built-in integration with servicenow's localization framework so with the click of button you can request translations to be made for the content that you have putting in your communication you can um you can review those translations edit it to make it look the way you want it to look and then when you hit the publish tab over here there are all the different capabilities that you would require just directly publish it from the same view so you don't have to go into a separate form to design it in a separate place to publish it it's all together and then what we are doing in terms of these communications we're taking it a step further now um um if if I wasn't clear and I'm looking at the chat uh and the Q a the communications functionalities are all EC Pro so you would see a tag of EC Pro um highlighted here as well so um we have shipped a new capability this came out in our Tokyo time frame um called Dynamic topic microsites so the topics that topic pages that you saw can actually be given a facelift and like you know made to act like a micro site um by adding the components that you were like kind of seeing on the screen here and I can show what this can look like uh in the instance in just a minute and it comes with an editor which is again embedded with the Content Library view that I was showcasing and the editor uh comes with um comes with um a lot of predefined templates and a lot of flexibility in terms of Designing these components which will make the topic Pages act like a micro site so let me give you an example um of um uh I think I have that yeah so I have that model over here so this is this is what your topic page could potentially look like so you have an image you have like some highlighted Communications things that you really want um the employee to learn this could be descriptions as well just to explain the topic and everything else that you have is still there so these are just components that you're adding in the topic to make them look like a micro site now this is different from a knowledge article uh form this is essentially just a new widget that you are creating you're probably adding some description to um to get employees to a knowledge article itself so your button that you're creating is a knowledge article but this is this is not helping you create a knowledge article this is this is a rich content widget that you're placing in any page on Service Board um learn more about this on on um our other Academy sessions and as well as um um the community I'll Point them towards you towards those the second thing in terms of communications is um we wanted to like as you're building an enterprise portal um we want it to be easy for different stakeholders and employees to be able to request Communications that need to be made on the portal and different places so with employee Center Pro we ship an end-to-end workflow everything from a request item on the portal uh for for requesting a company communication to be made to the back end which will allow the content authors to work again on the same Content Library View and that communication curve comes out as an approval um in our personalized tasking which I'll just walk through walk you through on the same portal so it's a completely integrated workflow end-to-end design for the employee to be able to request communication they're actually like see it through um directly on the portal itself okay let's talk about personalized tasking experience um and um I'll walk you through the instance again for that but ultimately what we have done is we have this widget called my active items widget on the home page and what this is doing it's bringing in all the tasks all the requests you can configure it to bring surveys you can configure it to bring um reservations um appointments um anything else that you may have which could be an active item for an employee and we have designed this widget to be such that it is completely extensible to include any custom or external task and we pre-configure it for approvers campaigns Journeys learnings and and all the other existing tasks that we have within the servicenow ecosystem and like we saw um we we can also have the agents assigned tasks that these could be for communication tasks or it could be anything that they have as part of communication campaign and what you see on the right is is a like once you see um the item and you click on it you would get to a my to-do's page or my task page and here there is a very nice view of what is open what is completed and we've been working to make sure the employee is able to get the information associated with that task or request very nicely highlighted and the admins can configure what information is highlighted how it is highlighted for each of these requests this is a functionality that is available for EC so all customers they all have this access what tasks are available depends on like what license you have so if you have nhrst Enterprise license you get the journey does and learning does um otherwise it is approvals for like case um if you're VC Pro then you can get campaigns tasked and so on but this whole experience is available for all customers where employee Center Pro takes this you can actually bring in external approvals or tasks into the system and and showcase it over here so for those Integrations you would require reply Center okay um one thing that we also added um I think this was in our November release was that you can filter these tasks based on a filtration criteria that admins can't become and they can configure the filtration based on user criteria so it manages the different different set of filters then and maybe an employee so um depending on like the kind of task they have so you can admins have a lot of power in creating the the task experience and personalizing that tasking experience for the employees now when it comes to that personalized experience we also ship something called manager Hub um this is this requires employee Center Pro but this is a very personalized experience for managers not just for tasking but also information that they need to know about being a manager as well as around their team so where their team is located what are the upcoming tasks what are the upcoming team events uh news announcements there's a there's a whole different experience that has been shipped just tailored to managers and is available as part of employee Center Pro foreign before I get into additional resources I want to just make sure you get a chance to look at the tasking experience um and and if there are any questions you can like post it on the Q a panel but essentially the my active items is this widget that we are talking about over here it's a really awesome widget to unify um like all the different um integration um sorry all the different active items that an employee would need to have paying attention to so we see many organizations kind of move it and place it in a place where they especially if they want further emphasis and when you click on the task you you get to this my item page you can see like you know there's an action button over here so you can complete the action right over here you get the enough information to make the decision and you don't really have to go to the back end or any other place to get additional details on the task um additional few things that you would see especially if you look at the screen that I'm highlighting um there are communication widgets like upcoming events this is an EC Pro widget again out of box often a question I get is what is this add to calendar this is like any like you would you can add the event to the calendar if you want it to be configured with your outlook or with Gmail you can you can get those done um but we have an upcoming events um that can be configured and there's the videos you can actually put videos um and and put them on the home page this is again EC Pro these are all different ways to communicate with the employee and when it comes to just comparing employee center with any other portal that you may have seen in the past by service now we've done a huge facelift to um to the um footer we have changed the brandings to make it more consistent across all pages um and if it makes it easy to just Rebrand the things because we've kind of built that framework which makes sure that the branding that elements that you apply are consistently applied across all pages so I wanted to call those out all right that pretty much covers the basic um um features and functionalities um please keep posting your questions we've been getting some really good ones let's talk about additional resources where do you go from here um first that I want to highlight is employee center community a lot of great resources are posted over here we have our release announcements definitely here so um yes we have released notes that come out in product documentation but I would highlight this as well just to get quickly quick access to what is coming in each of our store releases now um if you're not familiar employee Center is a store release we have four releases a year and because we are a store release a lot of our features and functionalities are Backward Compatible so even if you are on let's say San Diego you can get some of the capabilities that we launch in February because we are a store release and you don't have to get the family release so details like that are very nicely covered in the community blogs that we have on the release other thing implementation guides if you want to set up employee Center or employee Center Pro um with demo data and get these and see the experience that I just showed to you uh in your instance we have the two links over here and we'll be posting all of these in chat as well um um you would see the implementation guides that give you step-by-step guidance on how to like set up EC and EC Pro with demo data Beyond this we have FAQs we have a lot of best practice guidance and you can there's actually a forum for you to post questions and servicenow experts are across the board like Partners internal they're all like monitoring this forum and and are constantly like helping people who are asking questions so please please go review these and then all our events um and I'll talk about those very shortly all the live and servicenow events as well as the academy series that we run for employee Center are are all posted on community the recordings for it the upcoming information all of that is posted on community an employee Center is essentially a monthly event that is hosted by the product team to provide you a a deep dive into not just employee Center features but also related capabilities um like unified um like user experience analytics or AI search or virtual agent on a unified portal so there are a lot of different capabilities that you were probably thinking about as you are deploying employee Center this is the place where we talk about those and um I would say along with the upcoming one take a look at the the previous sessions that we have done and the link that we are sharing will will take you there then a common question that we receive is could you help us set up that unified taxonomy um um and um [Music] and help us build make sure it is employee Centric what should be our starting point how do we design our experience um Beyond just the taxonomy so there are these set of resources that we have highlighted these are from how do you how do you take a human-centered approach to design the experience a little bit more in-depth information and curated experiences which is the whole experience I walked you through with the taxonomy driven um there's a workbook that I now create teamcreates which will help you map um your knowledge and catalog categories and map them to the out-of-box taxonomy and make it your their personalize it so you can you can use those workbook and we have additional FAQs and others so these are resources that I would say you should start with um to as you start thinking about setting up the taxonomy then migrating from service portal to employ Center another question that we get quite often um there's a whole Academy session that we focus just on migration so we literally walked you through if you have this in-service portal here's what it looks like in employee Center and and how you would kind of map that experience so very very helpful Academy session uh if you're thinking about that we also have an infographic that walks you through the step or like the process step um like uh um like first map The Experience then build a taxonomy and so on so that that will give you the right steps that you would need to plan for as you're thinking about the migration and then a little bit more deeper on just the deployment part of employee Center is this webinar that we have highlighted over here so um good good resources for you to keep note of and in addition to all of these we we have a training by and now learning um it's free it's available for everyone and it gives you all the basic information it's like an extended version of what we just spoke about today um and it's a great it's a good one to get your team up to speed um so I I would highly recommend that and then if you're looking to self-implement or you're just looking for some more guidance and deploying employee Center we have a a success pack associated with unified employee Center by a now create team and and they go completely like they have a whole process to help you um plan on how you would go ahead with the deployment okay um that's all I had um like we do have some time and I wanted to save this time for questions anyone um has any questions feel free to raise hands or Rue if there are any unanswered questions okay I see one on workday um so our workday Spokes and integration are there any dependency on EC Pro so um the workday spokes are more dependent on your hrsd license so you get it through that um and when you have the hrsd license you have the EC Pro license as well so um the hrsd pro and HR is the Enterprise is what will give you the workday license ultimately okay there were there were a couple questions that actually came up in chat uh one of those questions was um are there release notes for the February 2nd release in Utah um so I think the release notes must be about to come or they should be out we will be posting a Blog shortly on on the Utah release the February 2nd release and it will be coming out by the end of this week on community so I would say look out for that yeah and I believe there will also be uh information available on our docs site docs.servicenow.com yep another question from February oh sorry the release notes for February actually available I just double checked so I posted them in the chat now awesome thank you no worries also there was a quick question how does the support resources widget work on topic pages are the results driven by the topic page content though which widget to support both support resources widget business support resources is it like you can um did we see that in the pages okay this one I see so yeah so this is basically coming from the um the uh the content that has been tagged to the topic page so um um all the knowledge articles all the catalog items um that you tag are highlighted over here and quickly the last question that I have that I'm picking up from chat was on the my to-do's page is there an ability to sort and search um there is an ability to sort yes um I don't think there's an ability to search Let me just double check so you can um I don't have that filters configured here but you can filter it you can um you can like when you're filtering you're kind of sorting it as well so you can do that you can't search for it right now but I think you can add the task as a search Source on the AI search page and and see it over there that's it all right um and um we'll be here so if there are any other questions I'm happy to spend a couple more minutes please post them in the Q a channel apart from that have a good rest of your day everyone thank you foreign
