Jon Lind, PM for the ServiceNow SDK and Fluent, once burned through $170 of AI budget in about two hours. The agent was just grinding: searching the web and digging through the SDK source code instead of using now-sdk explain because it had lost track of its ServiceNow SDK plugins. The fix: explicitly list the ServiceNow SDK plugins under enabledPlugins in your settings.json, and install the skills in your project scope instead of globally. Then Claude Code (and other agents) will keep reaching for now-sdk explain instead of brute-forcing their way through the problem. If you ever stop seeing it call now-sdk explain, that's your sign the plugins have dropped out.
