implementation successes and perhaps more entertaining when it doesn't go quite so well [Applause] hello and welcome back to the service Ducks podcast Russ what you've been up to this week what have I been doing um well let me tell you last time I said oh yeah I was naughty last time I said I've got my new trainers um but I also mentioned that I I done my son's Nativity so yeah so that kind of when we're recording these it rolls over so yeah I went to my son's um Nativity it's his first Nativity actually um because he's he's six but it's if obviously we've had covid and you know there was no nativities or school plays or anything and uh when they went back to school at that time there was still no um parents allowed to go well it's a bit of a shame so this is his first one so dead excited he was was he a sheep he was a sheep how did you know that you're quite impressive no it was a sheep I was watching for the window there was um there was three classes actually in his his nativities yeah he's got like three classes in and there was about like three Mary's five Josephs and about all right okay um but yeah they have to get them all involved and yeah they did the little sing song and a bit of a dance add his line to say but yeah it was really really good actually um proud father moment I would say heartwarming isn't it yeah exactly so yeah I've been doing that and I think I'm now and I put the Christmas decorations up outside so I think I'm now in do I want to say full on Christmas mode I am yes I am in full on Christmas mode I'm sat here in a Christmas jumper drinking Christmas tea thinking Christmas thoughts I mean full-on Christmas people funnily enough yeah you don't know yet this is going to be a Christmas episode um and I picked a topic this time that you don't know about um this is wonderful way to anyone that's listening we tend to pick a topic and then surprise each other um and it probably actually comes a lot it comes across actually when you listen to it that we don't know yeah exactly um yeah so this this one's gonna be an interesting one um what about you what have you been up to talk to me talk to me Google well I also had a um Nativity um so I was I was Jesus no I wasn't um can I just can I say can I just say and yeah it's a shame we don't video these but the jumper you're wearing you do actually look like a sheep I'm glad this is not a vlog or something let me describe it it's a knitted Woolen white jumper right it's cold okay it's really cold a boiler went on the blink last week um so yes so I'm I'm gradually getting over covered now but still experiencing some symptoms but yes we had a nativity um I also got a very exciting thing with work a good opportunity so may know that uh DXE who I work for is um uh partnered with Manchester United who is my club of choice um sorry that's true at the moment yes um but you know one of my heroes back uh in the 99 season was Dennis Irwin um so this might go completely over your headdress I don't know I know I'm not a complete you know yeah the best left back in man united history which you knew as well yeah um so we managed to have a an interview with Dennis Irwin who was talking to us about leadership um so you know I said to him We're often encouraged as kids and adults to be you know leaders different from the pack that sort of thing so I wanted to get his perspective about Sportsmen and if you need to be become the best you need to become you know obsessed with the sport and you know spending so much time in it but my question to him was can you be a leader who prioritizes their own ability and be a team member at the same time so who I was referencing to and at the time I was told don't ask any questions about Cristiano Ronaldo before this interview that was 100 about Cristiano Ronaldo so at the time he was being you know benched did Dennis Thurman come in so it's a dxc thing did he come in to talk to you or did you go there or what was uh what was the deal no it was it was just over a go-to meeting sort of thing or you know teams meeting but it's still face to face I've seen him and he's seen me yeah a little face-to-face yeah of course it's all Virtual Learn it um sitting across talking on video um yes all right okay um but yeah it was a great opportunity and just to get his input on it because I wanted to kind of goad him into talking about Cristiano Ronaldo subject at the moment being benched at the World Cup and because of his petulance and you know he's not really accepting the end of his career but his response was some leaders yeah there are some leaders out there no he's really not um there's leaders out there who can lead and not be you know arrogant like that I mentioned Brian Robson a few like that but you you know it's just down to Natural Born leaders and you know how you spend your time helping other team members for the best of the team sort of thing so it was interesting that you can be both but you know but you know what though it's like how old is he 37 yeah he did you just Wikipedia that no I know he's 37. um but In fairness he is still not at the top of his game but he is still a Class A Class above a lot of Strikers yeah I mean start for Man United Striker's job to score goals he's still scoring goals last season [Music] he's he's off the yeah exactly yeah he's gone off the cliff now he's not he's not at a good patch but you're right he's still got all that natural ability and I think I'll always be a fan because it's you know it's Ronaldo in that Ronaldo V messy argument I say Ronaldo really even I was just about to say even though now because I think you had that Ronaldo V messy Camp all the way right yeah and a mate of mine always used to say that Ronaldo is better because he's more versatile he can do more things or a message just not a one-trick pony but you're not of me um but I think now if you were on the Ronaldo Camp aren't you now swaying aren't those people that are now the Ronaldo camp now swaying over towards Messi because of how grumpy he's been yeah I think it's definitely put a little you know little blotch on his camera when all those lawyers are we I know they'll be listening there are three listeners will start complaining yeah but anyway yeah beside the point it was a very good experience good to understand about leadership and um they have something different so yeah and and another floor in your little plan there wasn't and I might be wrong but wasn't Dennis Irwin on the team at the same time as Roy Keane who was Captain therefore Dennis Thurman wasn't a leader he wasn't no he wasn't a leader he was well he'd probably argue that by not surprising you with my footballing knowledge yes but he had many leaders he was you know from the early 90s all the way up to I think 2000 or something like that but um yeah he he's been under many leaders um and I'm sure they say that everyone's a leader on the pitch and you know that sort of thing but that's not the case he was happy to take advice he knew that as a Defender he's not going to be one of the best people in the team um you know talent wise but you know doesn't mean you're not I guess as effective as possible yeah I guess that was a flipping comment of me because you don't necessarily need to be captain or manager or project manager or whatever to be the leader you can be leader in your own right in different areas I get that just before anyone starts emailing we're making this topical now so there we go that's good you've turned that round into it I have I have turned it round but it's nothing related on what we're going to discuss about today you know oh damn it I was trying to predict it no you think I'm trying to sway you around um so should we get to it what are we talking about yes do you know shall I tell you I don't you're gonna have to you as this is near Christmas I thought what we're going to do is we're going to play a little game oh and it may be um entertaining um or it may go down or we may start again and you'll never hear this episode I thought what would be quite fun right is we are going to play the alpha Alphabet game so we're going to start at a and we're going to go through every letter in alphabet and we've got to and we're going to take it in turns right um and we've got to come up with a term a term a word or a phrase you can't have a long phrase you only are like maybe two or three words right a word or a phrase that begins with that letter that you've been given so for example if I go first and say a ACL right right you see what I mean and then I'll follow along whatever um are we going to edit out all the gaps [Laughter] no there won't be any Gap yeah of course when when we get to X maybe right are we allowed doc sign up absolutely not you're not allowed any assistance at all um should we give it a time limit yeah so you've only got a certain other time to come up with your answer and that length of time is determined by me because it's my game so when I'm bored of waiting when I'm bored oh I see so you're just gonna do like it basically I've got have I got anything that make a noise yeah I'll just make a weird noise down there like a buzzer or something yeah yeah that'll do with it yeah yeah right or a screech but anyway that's the game it's not very Christmasy but I thought it's a bit more fun than yeah yeah this thing to me talk about stuff right so I'm going first and I'm I'm just no I want to go first no no no no no no no no I'm going first and I'm going to say ACL that doesn't count no no it's already been covered my game my rules ACL okay let me think business rule client script can I say Deltas yes you yeah we'll go for that yeah that counts all right email oh was a person that comes to mind flow designer you can have Flow Design you're not even file attachment uh mind you I suppose if I had email I should allow that all right okay that's a platform feature sure heat bubble thing what are those bubble things yeah cool reports what are they called they're bubble heat bubbles they are yes right so we're having that okay it's my turn right because I'm the what's worse is that I've actually got a picture of the alphabet up in front of me so I can see what's next because therefore I'm gonna have knowledge base oh easy yeah yeah it's not bad um what's next to L uh logs logs logs okay log Analytics metric instance that's pretty yeah okay do you know what this reminds me of do you remember I'm laughing before I say it but do you remember that time when we were on a on a project right and we were at the project site and we are waiting to be we're waiting in the canteen for about two hours for the um for the customer to come down and and greet us and we created we created our own version of battleships on a spreadsheet and we played battleships for two hours yes yeah we wouldn't do that now this was this was years and years ago in 2021. but no this is years of advice for those in the rise up campaign but and In fairness already we were sat there waiting for the um customer to come down and greet us and take us in um yeah so in our defense um we're amusing ourselves but it was a good game about battleships um anyway what letter am I on oh no I said um metric instance didn't I N oh yeah sorry it's on me isn't it it is uh hmm no intelligence you could have had anything man no intelligence there's quite a few next experience yeah o is four uh only before I can't have open record can I no no no I'm not allowed Orlando can't have that no I could have operational intelligence that's pretty boom yeah yep yep yep okay uh p actually quite an easy one two of them come on you're not allowed platform that wasn't gonna be that it on yes quick messages I was about to start the countdown yes that's yeah I probably lost on that one but go quick messages um okay I've got a pretty good one for oh I've got a couple of ours um robust transform that robust Transformer yeah have you played with that you must have done yeah I think um yeah I've done a little bit with that not too much to be fair yeah what was the other one a little bit miles ago uh release management oh okay yeah it's a bit dull robust rope yeah but don't transform that's a lot better okay s is four gotta be a few of them oh I've got a few but strength comes to mind is stringify oh wowed that Json stringify am I allowing it yeah there's people out there that might not know what that is though so let's accept let me have something off okay uh sass software Asset Management uh Sam Pro no ham Pro I don't know uh there's a few there's a there's a few there's a few yeah okay um T I'm gonna go for Telecom service management telecoms there's a theme to yours you know you're just listing out process products and products come on get more nerdy what else can you think's a really nerdy Tech shed what I don't know but just some random friend that's a random Forum okay okay um um you can have Telecom then okay cheers I'll go back to television oh hang on I'm just I'm just thinking ahead if I got all the difficult ones coming up oh no I haven't right U is four uh uh you is of course for well I don't know of course um umbrella there's got to be something umbrella in there she makes me not yeah umbrella coding yeah that's not a thing by the way if anyone's listening um you are now learning fundamentally before come on you can step in and help on this one no no I'm trying myself as well you is for under understanding stuff yes that's a bit of a reach is there a table called yeah Ultra no can I can I have a custom table that I call that comes out as you underscore something do you know what do you know what probably right there we go I've created a custom table and I'm reading out the the name to you it's called you underscore something nice right there we go saved fair enough that is I think that counts I think it doesn't but go on um okay v um vulnerability you're still listing products you boring you well if there's more things that comes to mind don't choose it come on but there's got to be something Vector in there surely going through the platform trying to find a year which I'm sure I probably will actually do just in case there's a life or death situation where I play this game again and it's it's a matter of life
