ServiceNow Project Workspace 3.0 - FIXED!
[Music] hey everyone it's Justin thank you for watching and welcome to my house that's Justin's house in this video it's a follow-up on Project workspace 3.0 if you recall if you saw the video when I installed 3.0 I was so excited about this new feature in the upper left hand corner where we can now access our rideac component directly from the project workspace that was a cool update I thought but after I did that update I was no longer able to use the workspace to add and edit tasks so I couldn't come in here and do this add task above add task below and likewise I couldn't use this add task button here to add a task to the uh to the plan and on the Gantt chart I couldn't do use it there either to actually add a task when something was done it's actually working now and that's what I want to make this video so you can know exactly what to do I'm going to give you four steps to complete after you upgrade your project workspace or if you're having issues with your project workspace step number one is to repair the project workspace plugin so go to your um all system applications all available applications all and then once that loads it always takes a long time go search for Project workspace and I want you to click on repair which says it's going to reinstall the application so that was step number one it didn't resolve my issue but I don't know if it partially resolved the issue that's why I'm leaving it as step number one step number two was to go to this plugin SN task planner and repair this plugin now this is the one that servicenow's Dev team said had some low code still in the instance and might have been causing the issues so step number two is to repair the SN Dash task Dash planner application after that I want you to change your URL at the top to dump the server side cache so you're going to do a cash dot do just like that up above and that is going to clear the server-side cache that is Step number three and even that didn't fix everything for me I had to go to actually let me pull my window down here again so you can see what I'm doing I had to go to this button to and I'm going to Chrome by the way developer tools and you're gonna right click the refresh button up here when you have developer tools open and you're going to do this empty cache and hard reload so that's clearing your browser side cache so that's step number four so step number one repair the workspace plugin step number two repair SN Dash task planner plugin step number three reset the server side server side cache or dump the server-side cache and step number four empty the cache and hard reload on your local browser depending on what browser you have I have Chrome and that's the way I did it on Chrome look up the instructions for your particular browser once that's done I was able to come in here I was able to add a task above I was able to add a task below I was able to click the add task button and everything was working well yeah everything was working swimmingly so that was the fix for this particular issue probably doesn't hurt to go ahead and do this in your instance anyways um to prevent possible future issues because I really don't know what the underlying cause was other than there might have been some old code associated with the plug-in I hope you found this video helpful if you did please like Please Subscribe or share with somebody who you think might be having issues with their project workspace in servicenow and until next time don't forget to always be learning [Music] thank you foreign [Music]
