[Music] foreign [Music] it's Justin thank you for watching and welcome to my house that's Justin's house in this video I have a new Tokyo feature for you and that is external project dependencies within the new project workspace in servicenow so I've got a project here project here in the new project workspace one of my favorite new workspaces where we can do all kinds of cool stuff it's got a new UI a new a new look and feel and one of the things that you could do before Tokyo was come in and add a dependency for a particular project task so we could come over here and say hey let's select a predecessor task and it's actually showing me all the project or all the tasks in the system right there but we'll just do pro or prj I think it was uh prj well that's actual projects but I can go at a dependency to this particular task and say whether it's finished to start start to finish finish to finish Etc et cetera now in Tokyo we have the ability to come in here and say I want to add an external dependency you can't read the whole word there but that is external dependency you can see it there when I hover over at external dependency and now it's going to pop up a box in the middle to First Let Me select a project so maybe I want it to be dependent on something of the workday patent award setup and then a particular task in that project this always happens to me on a demo I select the one that doesn't have any tasks in it so maybe I'll have better luck with the work data payroll Automation and I can say okay now I'm dependent on the project kickoff meeting to have happened for the work data payroll automation before this particular task in my security scorecard application can happen then I can specify whether it's a hard or a soft dependency hit submit and now I'm tracking that external dependency with that other project so if I look there I've actually got that task showing in my project and then you can see the dependency between those two things there that's actually working a little bit different than it used to in the old planning console but again now I have this ability into that project task in that other project I can go view that project if I want to and open it up and take a look at the workday to payroll automation project maybe nose around see what's going on or I can head back to my particular project but that's it that's a new Tokyo feature for adding external project dependencies to your projects in the new project workspace in Tokyo I hope you found this video helpful if you did please like Please Subscribe or share it with somebody who you think might be interested in managing projects in their dependencies between different projects and until next time don't forget to always be learning foreign [Applause]
