[Music] foreign [Music] it's Justin thank you for watching and welcome to Justin's house in this video I'm in Hardware asset workspace and we're going to take a look at a new Tokyo feature called content lookup now if you've been watching my channel in San Diego I showed this same feature for a software asset workspace now I'm in the hardware asset workspace because in Tokyo they made the hardware models and products now part of the content lookup portal so you can see the new icon here on the left hand side if I click on that I can come in here and I can search for things and in my previous video I showed the software products and the publisher part numbers what's new in this feature or in this Tokyo release is the hardware products in Hardware model numbers domain having access to them from here so you can see before I did this demo I was searching for Lenovo so let's go ahead and search for Lenovo again and show how easy it is to search for both hardware and software so I searched Lenovo I got some active asset types there if I search for Microsoft I'll see the Microsoft stuff so whether you're him whether you're Sam whether your Hardware whether you're a software you're going to have access to what you need in here and then we can drill down into hey I really just want to look at Microsoft's software or I want to look at Microsoft Hardware if you have a vendor that does both and apparently Microsoft does they have keyboards and they have software um or we can do it the old-fashioned way and use these links to view all on the hardware products and pull those up so Hardware products being you know this is a particular product and it might have several models associated with it so you can see here I've got some old compact stuff from Hewlett Packard cathode ray tube CRT monitors now if that's not a throwback for some of you I'm sure it's end of life by now but you can see I can browse through here I can come in and I can filter on any of this stuff so I want if I wanted to filter um let's do polycom polycom is that conferencing software or conferencing hardware and sometimes the headsets and stuff like that headphones yeah telephony equipment so I can see all that there and get to exactly what I need that way or I can come in and I'll move my head again and use this Hardware model numbers and get directly to a hardware model number by clicking on view all once I view all it's going to pull up a similar list like you just saw with the hardware products but I can search just like we were searching before let's try on this one I think it contains blade as I found where there's a life cycle associated with it so when I click on this it'll actually show you what I want but with these Hardware model numbers we actually have the hot the hardware the asset life cycles for them so in this MBS 100 let's see I thought they're worth three maybe I clicked on a different Blade the last time let's try this 6125 blade switch and yeah it has one Hardware life cycle definition so you can see their General availability starts in 2012 and we don't actually have an end date for that but it's still active so that switch is still supported or that switch series and let's just try this blade 14 series see what it's got there no Hardware life cycle definitions on that one so you can kind of get an idea this was all under the covers before so having this content lookup where you can just go start looking at your data and you'll notice on this home page for that they even give you insight into when the next content update will be so remember this is a subservice that you just opt into and it'll download all the information and if you consent it'll upload your information to servicenow so they can enhance and add to the Content Library I hope you found this video helpful if you did please like Please Subscribe or share it with somebody who you think is really interested in a hardware asset management and once the way to look up their products and their Hardware models and until next time don't forget to always be learning [Music]
