[Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] we got the screen share up there somehow okay welcome to a great start welcome to live Cody happy hour anything and anything usually happens my name is Chuck tomasi but I'll do the intros in just a second this is the show where we go through what I would like to call a not well polished demo that you get to learn alongside us there's some thought process going on there's some discussion that happens we invite you to join live when we have this it is live coding happy hour so we've got a great group in the chat that are willing to put their comments forward but before we get too deep into this before I go off the rails again I'm going to do our introductions going this way hi thanks Chuck for having me again uh I'm ashutosh I'm working as a technical architect with national in Netherlands and I'm a Devon VPN Community MVP over to you ishan uh hello everyone so myself I'm a senior technical consultant working with third era also a service not Dev MVP and love working with flow designer integration as I always say so here today with Chuck so Sean we gotta check your audio it sounds like you're a few miles away from your microphone he's gonna check his audio is it good enough no oh go to the audio settings check your audio source and see what you got I mean we can hear you but it's just kind of fainted in the background but my name is Chuck tomasi senior developer Advocate at servicenows now we're getting an echo some speaker is too close to sell microphone all right we're gonna get a shot squared away in a second like I said anything and everything probably will happen uh where was I senior developer Advocate at servicenow yes okay good this is not scripted I just have to remember where I was I've been here since 2010 I was a customer for a couple of years before that and a long long history of software development that goes back it's now over 40 years I'm afraid to say I'm the old man of the crowd and I'll play that card the way I like it how's your audio looking Sean uh yeah hello uh is it all good now it's it's getting better you're closer oh that's it so hello everyone myself vishan uh I am senior technical consultant working with Toyota uh also so it's not Dev MVP and hey today hanging out with those going through the guided setup window thank you oh somebody said Chuck's audio is going in and out let me check my battery no still got two bars I am on the lavalier I can always shift over to the I can I can hear you properly okay it may it might be a YouTube thing but hey as far as we're concerned stream yard is working for us so we're gonna forge on now comes the part where we get to introduce our beverages because this is live coding happy hour you see how we tie that together for anybody's watching the first time welcome aboard if you're a returning viewer welcome back let's start same order ashitosh what have you got yeah all-time favorite Radler in the house love me a good Rattler usually it's a warm weather thing though aren't they it's cold but still uh that was some that is something I can't miss on Friday night all right Sean yeah it's bright and early where you are in Sydney yeah so it's 7 30 for me and I've got a coffee with me uh uh Black Coffee where did you get that mug it was a cake cutting so many that I attended so got lucky [Laughter] and I am happy to say sober October is over I was I was going non-alcoholic for the month of October and I I didn't even know it was in the refrigerator anymore I haven't even looked like let's let's hope there's some beverage in there and I pulled out one of my favorites a Modelo canterito cerveza so I have uh something that'll go well hopefully it won't hit me too hard because I haven't had a drink in over a month we'll see this could be an interesting show stick with us all right our topic today is I'm going to uh I'm gonna play Earl here first oh yeah okay we're fighting for buttons now I'm gonna leave it alone all right Earl is Earl is hiding there behind the camera he's not feeling well today but he said I can put it coming and going push some buttons see how it's going and uh our topic today is part of our Tokyo season so ashatosha need you to raise your left hand and point to that little logo in the corner your left hand your other left hand [Laughter] for me it's here but yeah this one so that that is the indication that this is Tokyo content that is part of our Tokyo season if you want to see the whole calendar and content and blocks of stuff in case you missed it we started this three months ago in August we're just winding down it's all available at the link you see right down there Tokyo devlink.sn Tokyo that'll bring you to a Blog article that we are doing our best to keep up to date I think I missed putting a link to the breakpoint episode this past Wednesday we will get that updated I swear I'll do it this weekend honest and we that way you can find out where it is even if you're watching this in the future and you go hey there was that one topic on data filtration that they did back in August I think it's in there so and just when we wind this down it's time to fire up the engine for our next release Utah we're gonna go into research mode so you'll see live coding happy hour and Creator toolbox probably taper back a little bit in November December we've got holidays we've got some traveling to do and we'll come back at you strong in 2023 which is right around the corner for most of us depends whether or not you change your clock back you have to wait an extra hour so without delay our topic today is uh we are going to be talking about guided setup creation so guided setup has been around for a while I think we brought it out in 2016 2017 started seeing this with itsm and CSM many of you are familiar with it as you deploy a new suite of tools or a new package you get this uh guided experience to go set these properties create these records add these people to this group and it walks you through those and you can see what the progress of each of those are and say this is complete or I'm going to skip this step well shortly after that came out I said I want to make one and I realized it was not uh customer consumable at the time so I did what any good service now employee does I went in with main mode and built my own but it was it was rather painful uh between reverse engineering what goes into a couple of tables I made some basic uh guided setup for my loaner laptop my loaner app that's on share and I think it's still in there but uh happy to say that it is now consumer friendly so let me take you to a screen share or Earl's going to take you to our screen share there we go and I am on my PDI and first thing I want to point out is this is Tokyo patch one so again if you're not on Tokyo you're probably not going to see this if you don't see this it's because you need a couple of plugins enabled and I have whoop that's not it that's the Builder I'm not sure why that's even up there right now I'm not ready to go there so system applications two Stone let's see if Charles can type I haven't been drinking yet system applications all two plugins that you're going to need for this the first one is SN underscore ads setup that is called guided setup easy enough to remember right the other one is SN help set up and that is what enables users with guidance to actually run the setup so one is a builder one is a user I guess but you need both of these otherwise it doesn't work real well and you notice the low low price of free so I had to discover those there is documentation on this now here's the odd part that I haven't quite figured out yet this is live coding happy hour so you're going to get the whole truth nothing but the truth uh this is available in Tokyo I was informed last June as we were starting to ramp up to our Tokyo content that it's a Tokyo thing yet the documentation if you look for configure guided setup or guided setup creation or words to that effect you will see this is clearly oh go back go back go back clearly in San Diego and when you try to go to Tokyo it says there isn't another one this content doesn't exist for any other version haven't figured that one out yet it's kind of weird but the instructions are most most of them are pretty darn close to what you'll see today so there were some gaps I had to ask questions of our product manager and said please update the documentation when you get a chance they said okay thanks Chuck now once you get those plugins installed you will find these under not don't look for guided setup you'll get a whole bunch look app engine guided setup it's like trying to look for the word service in this menu okay do what I do and remember that this was originally supposed to be aired when Brad Tilton uh adopted a new daughter okay that's my mnemonic adoption services it's not where you go get free kids okay it is what we call how you adopt new services and in there is a guided setup so adoption services is the key thing to remember for that and you get the Builder now currently there's nothing configured so there's nothing to do you've got basically do you want to create or do you want to consume configure is something is already built we'll see ours in there as we go forward I'm going to check real quick make sure I'm in the right scope because I have these will go into your scope applications and one thing I want to point out is guided setup is great a if you have a custom application or you're thinking about listing something on the store or the share portal please build one of these it's it's like I can't understand how you could install an application unless you wanted to make a lot of instructions now ashitosh you were saying you love got it setup yeah because I don't want to maintain an Excel sheet where I need to have let's say a run book which says I need you need to do this once you go live with this particular product or you when you do a major release let's say for example I did for virtual agent what you want to do for that for setting up the virtual agent and I don't want it to have it in an Excel sheet so we simply created this and I think the the more flexibility which we are going to get in Tokyo is awesome because uh I started with this recently our cities and developers are also going to use this in future because we are creating something for them as well that uh if I make a delegated admin for an application how we should use this how we should uh facilitate this and and that was the thing it has saved time at least for me because everything is in service now right I don't want to go into my mailbox and check the Excel sheet sometimes the excels are not updated anyone can fiddle with it once something is fixed in acceptance it goes to production and just follow that guided tour for guided setup we are that's that is making the life easy uh Ola asks is there a guided setup to create guided setups wow that's pretty meta I would think you need a guided tour for guided centers but uh yeah this one would probably say turn on both plugins not get started um so no as far as I know there's not a guided set up we we would see it here but uh or we would see it under adoption services but that would be a little bit redundant if you went to the menu and said adoption services I did set up shouldn't that launch the guided setup for guided setup nope doesn't work that way all right this is uh do we have any other questions in the chat that I might have missed what one question Chuck liked just to make it clear to the audience as well right who is the real consumer of guided setup ah okay so the builders would be typically developers as they're building out an application or process the consumers of that are going to be your admins they're the ones who are doing the installation of the configuration so somebody downloads your app from share let's say or gets it from the store they're going to find the guided setup hopefully you've put it in your list of modules under your app menu that says guided setup for loaner laptop let's say or guided setup for Jeopardy we could build that guided setup experience so the admin installs and configures the application so that it's ready to run and it may be something as simple as just set a couple of properties and Away you go but it's a lot easier to remember that than assuming once the application is installed that it's ready to go because many times it's not you have to enable something or put records in a lookup table for example there's there's usually something to do maybe add your credentials for an integration to actually work it's like hey I've got a Spoke I put it in there you could even put a guided setup around a Spoke say don't forget you want to go into the credential Alias hook up a connection hook up the credentials and where you go so does that answer the question I hope yes someone's got to do it [Laughter] all right should we build one yes definitely all right before we do that I want to we've got uh I do have an application out here that I've been playing with for a while uh I simply call it carbon it's got some orders on it you may recognize it when we did the formula Builder and there's some records in here it also has some properties so if I go to Studio let's see it's a it's a pretty typical application with the table some properties you know a little bit of navigation notifications that kind of thing so I want to build that out let's go to uh back to our adoption services and open up the guided setup all right so there's nothing to configure therefore there's nothing to export over on the upper right do I still have my cursor thing I do it's a little oh it's not showing up that well okay my cursor locator needs to be replaced I don't think it's friendly with this version of os so I'm going to switch over to build your guided setups again there's nothing here but I've got to create new so we're going to start there and the guided setup is is kind of like guided application creator it takes you through an experience that says here's what we're going to build we're going to build some categories we're going to put some tasks under them we're going to put some definitions you can do basically three different types of tasks that we're going to look at so let's get started because I certainly don't want to hit cancel and it says let's give it a name I'm going to be unimaginative and call it carbon setup prescription this is mandatory as well yeah make sure everybody can read that at home even if they forgot the glasses yeah uh make some stuff to make the app go now you can restrict this to certain roles like say I only want this for the people who have oh yeah see like delegated admin right like like right these are your these are your standard roles right out of CIS user roll table I I could lock this down to just admins so I'm not going to restrict it in any way now here's another interesting one this checkbox it says this setup will include installation of plug-in you may have dependencies for your app that say before you run my app I want to make sure you have say the process flow formatter installed or something that's not normally turned on you can do that I'm not for this one but I'll show you where it comes into play uh actually you know what yeah let's turn that on I do want to show you this because I can always reverse it continue I should hide that then not on the screen so I'm not gonna worry and it creates kind of a vtb slash process automation designer set up for you this is my category up here called plugins the little circle is gray so that's not done and then there's install plugins now if I go into install plugins and I want to configure that put this message away it's kind of bothering me uh you have to hit view edit simply clicking it apparently doesn't do it already learning things wait for it wait for it okay you have to wait for it to finish loading because the the name looks like it says nothing and then I'll send it says install plugins okay uh let's enable plugins to make the carbon app go and there's one task type that is install plugins pretty self-evident on this one what this one does so we're going to say let's make sure we install the plugins and click continue I thought double clicking it might work I think this page has to finish loading yes nope okay uh process flow formatter let's say we want to install the process flow formatter as one of them you can pick and choose other ones I can add another one it's a um formula Builder is there any is there any Checker Chuck like do you have a subscription for that particular Plugin or so you want to know if I can install now this is a PDI so I'm not going to guarantee everything's going to be perfect on this yeah um but perhaps um integration hub yeah how about Google sheet spoke you know so you would you'd have to I I'm gonna answer that question right now and say it looks like there is you can't install things that aren't in your current list uh that would appear under that system applications all that we were just looking at oh hey what what about the um guided setup yeah so get it set up configuration I'm going to guess that one okay cool now we're on step two configure task step three is Task settings what do we have here uh these are optional settings you can define a dependency obviously this is the first thing that we're going to do so I don't think there's much of a choice that we have a dependency on this one we'll we'll look at maybe making one of our other tasks dependent and select the type of test this is this is this is something I needed explained to me because I don't think it's documented that well or it wasn't a month and a half ago uh there are different types of experiences you go through when you're installing or when you're running the guided setup for this application there's Quick Start uh there's mandatory and then there's custom I think that's what it is we'll have to double check so you can say do I want just the bare minimum or do I want somebody to do a deeper dive into this what do you need to get this application up and running I'm leaving all of mine as custom at this moment so keep an eye on that because it will come up again I'm going to hit continue and you see that it is a blue circle now it's not a gray Circle we need that green this is green installed plugins is happy because the little green bar over here on the side so you say Chuck how do I get that thing green well let's go back into view and wait for it the category itself did not get a mandatory field of description seems like an oversight to me if you're walking through somebody through the experience you would start with the obvious so plugins I want you to install now notice down here you also have uh like an article title and URL I could log this to Docs and to go out to that page that I had before oops that's the app that's the Builder that in or a video hey come watch my YouTube video on how to do guided apps Creator installing plugins there's a better one let's see installing plugins activate plug-in this should say don't install them you activate them request to plug in that'll get me close activate a plug-in there we go let's link to that page instead we don't have a video edit docs activate a plugin I haven't put any of these in before let's save the video for another one yep now when we hit continue because it's all done this is the same stuff we did before that's the task under the category our entire category is green let's add another category this is that was that was fun and all for the built-in plug-in stuff um I'm gonna call this one uh create so many records because I can't think of anything better to say and it has a task create an order maybe it's a lookup record that you need you got to put people in a group this is where you can do that kind of thing and I'm going to create another category set system properties set a limit because my app if you remember right my app had a property in here like two of them actually that's four I'm not sure what that was all about but the property category has limit and prefix and I want those to be configured when somebody runs this so let's start from the top view edit category all I have is a name describe this um make an order or something again we could put in a video maybe we got a tutorial out there hey welcome to the carbon app this is for tracking orders or just using for demos on live coding happy hour then it takes us into the the series of tasks yep granted order navigate to carbon orders and make a new record something for them to do and here is what the task types are this threw me at first when I looked at it I wasn't sure quite what to make of it first one's pretty self-explanatory add records to existing tables yes that's what we want to do second one is show any page in an inline frame okay maybe I need to bring up a calendar or a UI page or something of that nature I can do that and then the last one is just like what we've been putting on the bottom of the other ones articles and videos let's start with this one and add our task and of course it needs to know what table this is our order table any questions not yet one question from in the chat yeah um how to export guided setup from Dev to I think any other instance is it captured in an update set it's captured along with all the all the other files I'm going to tell you a couple tables at the end and those are extended from CIS metadata which means same thing as business rule script includes acl's Forum layouts it's all coming with the application which is why I wanted to double check my scope before I I got into this I want to make sure this is captured as part of it good question indeed and there is one more question um it says can it perform checks on actions or is it best on based on the honor or it honors the system uh checks on what kind of actions I think they mean like uh once the you know they click on create record basically going and checking if that has been done something of that so um no it's the same as any other guided setup it's it's the honor System if you mark it complete you can always come back to it it's a set of instructions it's not going to validate what you actually did so to that end it's in my understanding is the same as it was before we can test it out when we build this when we actually run it all right we've got our task complete and this is where you say what experience do you want to put this in uh is it mandatory is it best or is it custom only we're gonna go custom only and there's a reason to pay attention to these because there's a warning that's coming up so now we're moved on to system properties it's just walking me through all this stuff figure some set the limit and prefix properties accordingly again video and or article uh this is the page that's going to do something you should know what to do when you see the screen this is the part that um crew me at first because I wanted to go to an existing record my instinct was let's go to Sis properties and and look at that record and let them change it and I went that's probably not the best way to do it but there are cases where you may want to edit an existing record and the only options we have are create and then show something in line and then show a video or a blog or a video or a document so what I found was you can do this better with properties as an inline experience now here's the another one that threw me that I needed some product manager assistance on if I go into studio and I say I want to try this properties page you get a properties page like you would expect right and I can borrow that URL I don't know if you can't see that darn it because I only shared the one screen okay trust me a pop-up window came up with my properties we can actually look at it back here I suppose carbonne properties that's what I want the person to see and you get that through the UI page system underscore properties so my first instinct was great let's go system underscore properties underscore UI dot do sis parm title equals carbon properties and CIS parm category foreign equals Urban I can't remember what the actual title was idle carbon properties categories just carbon okay and I went well what's wrong with my URL well first of all I didn't finish spelling carbon it won't let me do that any thoughts gentlemen uh foreign [Music] oh it needs the whole uh it does and this worried me because I said if I'm putting this into my app I don't want to hard-coded instance name in there the next the next happy admin that installs this is going to get my instance for a setup page and that doesn't make any sense product manager told me I haven't verified this he told me it's like emails if you put in a full URL it will make it relative okay I trust you on that one again I haven't I haven't validated that again what experience do you want and we have Green Dot on the categories green bars on the tasks but here's where it gets fun normally I would want to set properties before I create these dummy records because properties often impact the behavior of this so let's just drag this whole swim Lane over whoo that was fun right I had to show you that yeah the other one is I want to make this task dependent on that and that task dependent on that so there's got to be a succession of order I can't just do these in random order so let's make the dependency condition on this one Charles made a screen a little too zoomed in uh completion of one or more tasks completion of one or more categories let's just make a task specific I want it to finish that one before I continue although technically now it says right at the bottom see that it says after task set the limit yeah same thing here that one after task blah blah blah and this one can't do that this is the first one why do you even give me the option to do that then that's what I would say one question Chuck but can there be a dependencies between the tasks in the same Lane can we try that absolutely here let's do create another order go into the details of that because it's gray we'll say actually I think I have more than order records in there do I not maybe not I think that's the only Cable in this app well carbon I don't think so carbon just has orders and properties but we could always say create an incident I suppose be adding rules or something created I don't feel like going to making another table right now create an incident that's what Abel would do Hubble would do right so we'll add a record we'll keep this simple from the incident table continue make that custom and we want to make that dependent on creating our Knights yeah now I could say you know just go by categories you have to do with assist you have to do these everything in those two categories before you can continue so a little bit of flexibility in here as to how you want to do this so across swim Lanes or write down them and of course if I say hit save we get very useful information on there yeah this is this is again this is the construction this is the creation process all right look we get the finalize button ready to go that was not there before and if we wanted to change any of these things I can go back to the basic information and maybe say I really don't need those plugins I think the other way you can do that that will uncheck it is to delete that property swim Lane so you can take this category and say get rid of it no I don't have any plugins to install but will that have an influence on the check box which we had in the first screen yes yes I verified that Wednesday or Thursday whatever it was as I was trying to refresh my memory what I was talking about so let's hit finalize and then you get this lovely message that says look if if you have dependencies that are in other experience types this may not work right so if I said this custom is dependent or or this quick start is dependent on a customer somebody didn't say they want to run this as a custom experience it's not going to work because you're asking them to it's kind of it's kind of like the same as having a mandatory hidden field like I want you to fill in this field it's mandatory but it's hidden which technically can't do in service now but you get the idea so that's all that message is saying you say yep I reviewed it I think I'm smart enough to go ahead now you get one more step this is a little checklist that uh you may want them to do which puts a little HTML on the screen one is login as admin read the release notes and inhale deeply in impersonate able to create apparently you can use three different types of dots but no numbers I'm not sure why it's just a simple little checklist we're gonna have fun with that then then we still have our definition of all this stuff it is published you can see over here published and on configure products we now have our carbon set up ready to go it has not been started so you think Chuck nobody's going to come to this page but what you can do is when you launch it you can always take the URL and make a system module out of it okay using arguments from URL hopefully everybody went through their CSA and made a module so let's continue we're actually going to run this continue it says which experience do you want now I said all of these were custom right oh there's my little checklist too plug in his admin read the release notes inhale deeply keep this information handy another process I have to remember to inhale it's anything about exhaling so a follow of mine are custom what happens when I hit Quick Start hmm you there goes no category and task so again if there's nothing there why did I select it go back go back go back continue hmm pick the type of setup you wish to configure you can always add configurations later yeah I think it only has three options Quick Start and then the other two custom if you click on it it will show custom right but yeah this this screen just changed I used to have three well that was interesting okay exactly let's go to custom now I should see all my tasks and this is the guided setup experience that some of us are used to if you've been through this before so I let's let's try doing something out of dependency order this lock say signify something yeah it says locked please complete the install plugins first that's what that message says zoom in there so you can see it okay so the lock says you can't do this yet it's grayed out but that's what you would see if you tried so let's obviously go to start on the plugins both of these are installed hooray waiting for continue to light up I think there's a check box is there a check box if I go in here it's going to take me to that where did you think it was just make sure oh there it is yes okay very very dimly lit and not clickable hey welcome to live coding happy hour things don't go the way we anticipate can't do anything there am I missing something on the screen that it's done click continue planting you can't click I was expecting it more like a to-do to Do's in HR right when when you click on something it automatically considers a click and then uh like accept the terms and conditions done yeah do I want oh this is calm that glider guided setup config that's not the one that I'm on so sure I'll install a plug-in this is a bit like At first I thought I was sawing off the branch that I'm sitting on in a tree okay hopefully this is quick any questions not yet okay the last two percent takes 98 of the time as his guided said to be so pretty now [Laughter] okay maybe this is the part that's validating you actually did it all right no because it's already installed okay so uh this may be an issue that we didn't look at I can't go forward because my other things are dependent on that these are still locked right indeed yeah that's locked um did we select any role Chuck at the beginning I did not yeah okay well that's interesting it says progress is half done if you look at this little Circle there you can try clicking on the other plugin as well like just installing the maybe it will sell the process flow for a better we're going to do the same thing this shouldn't take too long while I'm waiting I'll tell you a story about process flow formatter so when I went to knowledge 10 as a customer and got that happy little award that's behind me called The Innovation of the Year award there were three finalists yeah that one right there uh three finalists and uh one of them had made uh it wasn't a plug-in at the time because they'd created it was they made that little Chevron subway map process flow formatter that was their final thing so every time I see that I think they were second or third place and they got a plug-in the other one was a change management risk calculator and they got a plug in and here I am with my app for managing loaner assets never got a plug yet but you know what I got I got a job okay let's do that and let's do it we were talking about that yeah we were talking about that little progress icon right but it is also same for the the step below that yeah we didn't actually do anything I think I think it's a generic in progress it doesn't show you like on the other guided setup you used to have you know the wheel that was going around so you're 75 complete yeah and you'd see three quarters of the circle lit up I think we may have possibly discovered an issue here can I mark this as complete no and the fun part is Chuck the continue plug-in the continue button if you go to the create dummy records you will see or maybe just a system properties thing resume uh yeah here you see the continue Button as enabled see all right but since it makes it comes yeah I don't know what this is because there is no inspector or due date field on here that feels a little weird like oh I see the inspector due date field on the form the form is read only but I can't continue until I fill in the mandatory Fields because wait this is somehow completed oh hooray let's charge forward we fixed it although we don't know what we fixed is there a scheduled job Maybe let's set the limit to one and we'll call this lchh save those properties properties updated oh look Mark is complete down here that wasn't on the properties was it or on the plugins no okay you guys would have spotted that yeah it looks like something background for the plugins go back I want to see is it now we it steps right into create carbon order or create let's try create other incidents we know that the lock we know what the lock icon means right it means don't go there yet because you're not done with all the dependencies so here's the inspector let's say Felipe there was another mandatory field in here somewhere due date where's my due date field I don't see a due date due date States date States they ship date ordered due date there we are wow it's not exactly doing a uh a tabbed layout on these forms hopefully I don't have a formula Builder thing from a previous show that says you can't choose that okay Apple would do didn't even have a good grammar on that one okay so we continue that by creating our record oh oh this has created another created there we go another incident well let's make it able and call the fire department s I did set up it's hot but is there anything because I think correct me if I'm wrong like in the old way of guided setup there was a button to mark it as complete even though if we don't create records right yeah we saw that on the first record or on the system properties I think it was yeah but in this case I it is actually taking you to create the records but you're right you're ordering off of like uh an inserted event or something here I can go back and edit you're right so the properties if you do one of these iframe actions then you get a mark is complete because there's there's nothing to really say hey just because you saved doesn't mean you necessarily did anything this one's the honor System yeah I remember like there were some create groups create rule I did set up in past and I if we have done that already we just used to go to the guided setup and say Mark as complete it was not uh it was not taking us to a it was of course taking us to a form but we had an explicit option to mark it as complete and it was not showing the record list like it is showing now in this new UI I don't know we might have to put that in as an enhancement also looks like we can create three experiences like a custom best and starter yeah we created one right now and if you create another two there will be separately available for the users which is which is great yeah one more thing I want to show you and that was the tables that are involved uh you can obviously reverse engineered if you want by going to options services all guidance you see there's some in here already now what I showed you was uh the carbon setup is of type Global setup see that there's also embedded help and modal when you first log into uh like a San Diego or a Tokyo instance with the next experience it walks you through those modals this is what it's using these are already been configured I have not gone in to do those obviously the the experience that we use to build this guided setup did not even expose that to us but if you created a new one and and I'm curious to look at this a little deeper if we create a new record from this table we have that option of what kind do you want this is interesting so if we look at what it takes to build this getting started modal learn how app engine Studio works and there are contents under there so it's possible to build some of these other experiences for setup and and tours and guidance and whatnot I have not explored these I only looked at the new Builder and I've mentioned I was going to talk to you about tables so the first one is unimaginatively called help guidance Oops I Did show XML and you realize you can't see that so here here's another way to show it configure show name help guidance not very imaginative I thought it would be like CIS underscore help or something the other is drill into one of these like it name on this one help guidance step makes sense this is a step in there and then we've got contents under here for the links uh and for the video and whatnot this one is let's go to title help underscore content so those are the three that are are really involved with this and if I want to like wipe it and start over I would come to the carbon setup and delete that record you can see it was captured in my application note the application file field is filled in for me and when I delete this it's going to delete all the steps remember this is the definition not that instantiation that we ran yeah refresh this oh there's a refresh button I totally screwed that up nothing there and nothing there so I've hit the big old reset button on that by deleting those records so don't do that unless you're really mean to and we have a question uh in the chat like yes can we skip it can we skip a step if we don't want to take that like yes if it's not dependent on anything else sure go ahead you just can't Mark the entire uh the entire thing complete I didn't see a checkbox that says like this is optional uh you could potentially say these are the steps that are all uh for the custom setup and and these are the ones that are for quick start because you can mix and match them as long as you don't mix up your dependencies so you could say here's what you absolutely what I want you to do for a quick start and here's what I want you to do for custom so there's three steps for quick start that makes the other seven optional because they're not part of the Quick Start yeah and and Phil says that where should we manage this guided setup and and we answered one question previously that it is part of your update set or your scope application so you can move it from depth towards production but I think then the management should also happen in Dev right not in yes yes just like building a flow or a VA topic slash conversation do that in depth but I still have a fear about that URL which we just oh man you're gonna you I I was told on good authority that it would become relative we should have checked that while it was still in the application we could have gone into the XML and checked I should have done that ta-da all right that's our questions now look at that we're pretty much right on time let's go radar and last one maybe what environment do you feel out consume your setup um I think wherever you install the application right wherever you install the app absolutely so it might be Dev it might be test it might be prod so wherever you want to run that to actually make it run yep yep and it gets captured in the brexit and you can move it across my preference would be if I was going to attach this to like my carbon application for example I would bring up that starting point and then just take the relevant part of the URL and put that into a module so that when somebody installs my application they're going to see guided setup portal properties you know everything you need to run and manage that application is in one nice place rather than remind them to go to adoption services and click this and click that it's like Just Launch it from your menu even if it's only done once it's handier to have it there yeah and like you said right whenever we'll we enable next experience we log into San Diego instance with that it automatically pop s up so does the model type of guidance automatically pops up or do we need to do any magic somewhere so that it can automatically come on it automatically pops up with that when we walked through ours you know initially it had the three on there and I picked the wrong one on purpose but yeah it would show up with the right ones there clicked cool all right ashitosh how was your drink I built a riddler right so five not gone yeah almost on a scale of zero to five in quarter point increments how would you rate that I said uh five on five five okay this was a mixer this was a different yeah this was a different Radler this time from Germany uh and a special edition for Oktoberfest was that the one in the tall yellow can indeed I've had that one that was that was how I was introduced to Rattler so good stuff I forget what the name is this just says Rider 0.0 uh what do you got for me you were drinking coffee yes coffee is always five and five still going with that all right and I've got my Modelo I forgot to mention this is almost like a rattler but I drank it I thought I think I've got ashitosha's drink here it's got grapefruit orange and lime in it it's almost gone that is a good thirst quencher also it will go well with the pizza we're gonna have tonight because it's Pizza Friday where I live I'm going to give that a 4.5 and that's with the quarter point success factor so good stuff I don't see any other questions in here a few nice toasts to us so wishing everybody a happy weekend thank you for joining us thank you ashitosh and thank you Sean thank you thank you good questions and answers and we are going to Boogie oh thank you Earl Earl's behind the scenes he popped in a little
