The Traffic Light & Form Personalization (or Context Menu in Workspaces)
[Music] foreign [Music] it's Justin thank you for watching and welcome to Justin's house in this video I'm going to talk to you about the traffic light okay I'm gonna explain this really what it is it's a context menu within workspaces um if you've been using service now for a little bit you're probably familiar with right clicking on a form on any on any form so you can get to these UI actions we call them you can if you're an admin you can do some configuration some exporting and then some other stuff like copying the sysid or copying the URL to send it somebody and then there's what we used to call what I still call it the hamburger icon the hamburger icon is right up here in the upper left and you could basically get to the same form this contextual menu that's also available here if you right click so that's what that is and we called it the hamburger icon so let's move to San Diego in a workspace that you know everybody got used to the new workspaces and I can't tell you the number of times I've gone up here to the top here and try to right click only to see that it doesn't do anything I get the browser right click menu if I do it there or if I do it here so there's no context menu there however it didn't take long for me to figure out that the traffic light icon over here next to the record title or what might be also called the vertical Ellipsis but traffic light is easier to say and easier for people to visualize when they're wondering what the heck I'm telling them to click on you have the ability to jump to certain sections within your form so if I wanted to go down to the resolution of the incident I could jump down that way to the resolution if I wanted to go back up to the Internet details I can click that to go back up and then you were also able to do a couple of similar things um like that context menu I just showed you like reload the form export copy of url url copy the sys ID and show the XML for this actual record right so again those are some admin type things which you might do now for Tokyo they've given us yet another feature and so same traffic light icon as before however now we have for our users the ability to personalize the form so now we've got this new dialogue to go pop up and they can disable and enable fields that they want to see or don't want to see if you're familiar with the way they used to do this in the old days you went up to this icon right here which is a little three lines and three dots and you could click click on this and you can personalize the form you got everything kind of similar to what you just saw in the service operations workspace but this is kind of Hidden Away in that traffic light or vertical Ellipsis over here when you're in a workspace in the next experience so that's it that's a did you know did you know this is there did you know that this is capable hopefully you learned something about jumping around two different sections of the form and then also maybe exporting or personalizing the form now in Tokyo so that's the new feature in Tokyo I hope you found this video helpful if you did please like Please Subscribe or share it with somebody who you think might be interested in personalizing or being more productive when they're moving around in workspaces and until next time don't forget to always be learning foreign [Music]
