[Music] foreign [Music] hello and welcome to the now platform Tokyo release features update for strategic portfolio management my name is Ryan Kaiser and I'm a senior digital solution consultant here at servicenow focusing on strategic portfolio management today we're going to talk about our updates to project workspace and financials functionality plus our updated UI for agile and safe boards but before we get started don't forget to click that like button as it does help with the algorithm and if you want to see more content on this channel please do me the favor in subscribing and turning on those notifications so that you don't miss another video without further Ado let's get going on our updates from San Diego and the next experience to our project workspace we've added support for external dependencies to other work items and automatic propagation on Upstream changes are made multi-row indent and unindent which makes my life easier and warning messaging for tasks that if a plan start date occurring prior to the project plan start date in case I make a mistake but I've told you enough let me show you so now that we're in our project workspace we're going to drill into one of our projects here and we're going to go into 180 360 feedback we're going to pull up our planning console we're going to track down that test that requires an external dependency we're going to pull that task up add that external dependency tie that in to an established project and the tasks that it depends on we're going to set that as a hard dependency and now we can see that that external dependency is attached and if desired we can drill into that particular project and see what's going on there we're also able to indent tasks and that makes my life a lot easier I can also back that out if necessary so back in our planning console here we can go ahead and ensure that when a task is created that it's not happening before the project plan start date if we add our task here and we'll say this is our early task we're going to commit that to an earlier date and that warning will come up letting us know that this change will move the actual project start date to Prior the existing start date keeping a close eye on financials is critical for portfolio managers program managers and project managers to know if they may need to request additional funding to achieve the outcomes they have committed to leadership PMs can gain visibility into real-time Financial metrics by fiscal period month quarter and year to identify if more funding is needed plus they can see those project Financial metrics Consolidated into one place and get help when they need it by adding a co-owner project managers will be able to re-forecast project costs a little easier by reviewing various Financial metrics together all in the overview tab without having to navigate to multiple pages continuing to build on our UI updates from San Diego with the next experience we've updated the look and feel of our agile and safe boards foreign thank you for joining me today in reviewing the now platform Toki release features update for strategic portfolio management focusing on our updates to project workspace and financials functionality plus our updated UI for agile and safe boards if you like what you just saw click that like button subscribe and turn on those notifications stay on the channel here to watch more Tokyo release videos and if you have any questions or want to know more about strategic portfolio Management on the now platform please head over to servicenow.com forward slash SPM
