As part of our ongoing effort to improve the Now Platform’s foundational capabilities, in the Tokyo release we’ve updated the platform with numerous enhancements that enable ServiceNow customers to increase the pace of business innovation and deliver new services with a faster time to market.

AI-powered Regression Testing

Whether you’re upgrading your ServiceNow instance to the latest release or creating custom workflows on the Now Platform®, automated testing and verification help to ensure your apps are working properly. With the Tokyo release, we’ve made automated testing fast and easy by enhancing the Automation Test Framework (ATF) with AI-powered regression testing that determines your test cases and automatically generates detailed tests to test them.​ This innovation not only reduces the amount of time spent on testing, but also improves the quality and stability of your apps.​

Headless Browser Testing

We’ve also simplified the execution of automated testing with the ServiceNow® Headless Browser for ATF. With a headless browser, you can now test UI functionality without having to manually open a browser, making testing applications faster and easier.

Upgrade Plans

With the Tokyo release, we’ve also made the upgrade experience faster, smoother, and more seamless with the introduction of Upgrade Plans. Upgrade Plans enable you to define which applications and target version to install when upgrading your instance.

Also, by allowing applications and customizations to be packaged into an Upgrade Plan, upgrades can be simplified and configured to help ensure the desired behavior in a sub-production environment. In addition, manual effort is further reduced with the ability to apply an Upgrade Plan to multiple instances at one time.
