[Music] hey everyone it's justin thank you for watching in this video i'm back to talking about microsoft teams something happened recently i need to deal with it i found a solution well kind of a solution and i wanted to share it with you if you use windows if you use mac keep watching i'm going to show you something in microsoft teams you will have noticed maybe that the emoticons got an update so let me highlight that there i'll hover over this message real quick so you can see there this really creepy laughing face this strange surprise face and a really weird looking sad face not sure what's going on with the icons not sure what the strategy here is on microsoft but same thing down below if i were to do that you can kind of get a better visual here of what all these smileys or emoticons actually look like i'm not a big fan and i don't usually post critical videos but in this video i have a workaround that i stumbled across or really forgot about and that is on windows you can use your windows key plus the period sign or the period punctuation mark to get to a system emoji or emoticon window so notice now we're back to what the icons used to kind of look like in microsoft teams so let me do that again i'm not able to do my little green thing but see there i've got kind of the back to the normal maybe flatter less 3d looking emoticons so what's this look like on a mac we'll come over here i'm going to show you on my mac give me just one sec all right everyone this is me on my macbook air and i'm doing the same thing here if you hover over these messages i got a message to myself here same creepy little emoticons um down here on the mac same thing you've got the weird looking 3d-ish kind of emoticons but to get back to something different is on a mac you want to hit control command spacebar and that will open up the little less creepy icons on the mac they're not much better but they're still not the weird ones up here that you see in microsoft teams so not as fun as a workaround or not as a throwback as a workaround as the one in windows but control command space on your mac to get to the system emoticons or smileys and don't forget windows period on a windows key period on windows alright welcome back i'm back at my desk off of my macbook i hope you found this video helpful if you did please like please subscribe or share it with somebody who you think might be interested in getting different emoticons or emojis or smileys in their microsoft teams application and until next time don't forget always be learning [Music] you
