[Music] okay we're gonna go ahead and get started we are at the top of the hour so we'll get started get a lot of content to cover today and excited about telling everyone what is new in tokyo this is a the first part of a two-part session that we're gonna have um we'll do platform analytics today and then in a couple weeks we're gonna do data visualization so i hope everyone is looking forward to see what's new in tokyo so with that let's go ahead and get started uh i think my mouse working there we go so uh as usual this content is for you uh and we're really bringing uh you know fresh ideas and better understanding of what's new in tokyo today so again excited about that this is being recorded it will be out on the community page later on this afternoon and also out on our youtube page so look for that later on uh we will have q a session at the end uh you are more than welcome to ask questions as we're going along please use the q a section if you can uh try not to use the chat so much we do have other uh panelists that are on the call that are monitoring questions and if we can answer those while the sessions being gone happening uh via type we'll do that and if it's a situation where we need to stop and ask the question if it's relevant to a certain section we'll try to do that as well if there are questions that are unrelated to the content that we're covering today we'll try to get to those um once we're done with all this at the end of the session if we do not do not have time for that then we would definitely recommend to you that you uh go to the community and look and see if that question's already been asked that you have or asked that question in the community so with that safe harbor notice uh although everything that we're showing you anything based off of this presentation uh my name is thomas davis and i am the uh host and also i will do some presenting today i have levija here with me as well and she's going to be doing the demo side of all of this so uh look really looking forward to what she's gonna show you and um really empower all of you with what's new in tokyo uh and we do have like i said some other panelists here i know that tara and dan are both here adam may show up at some point and we may have uh one or two others that show up at one point as well so we have a good group of people that are able to um answer questions or what not so again what we're going to talk about today is what's new in tokyo as it relates to platform analytics and that's going to cover three different uh topics today so platform analytics workspace which is something new visualization designer which is something new and then also some new things that are inside of the next experience dashboard so with that let's go ahead and get started so what is platform analytics so the best way to look at it is think of it as a one-stop shop for managing all next experience analytics uh and this is obviously new to the tokyo release so this is a place that you'll be able to go to and look at you know data visualizations dashboards uh many and some other things but it is like that one-stop shop for you know all things that are related to next experience analytics um anybody can actually get to this so all users work space is available to them and what you'll actually be able to access is all the analytics content that is related to next experience dashboards data visualizations kpis that were created in the classic ui uh the one thing that you want is the responsive dashboards or report pa widgets are not in there uh but again all of these other things and as you you know create uh data visualizations or whatnot you'll be able to see all of them there oh very simple to get to so in next experience when you go to uh workspace uh you'll now see platform analytics workspace it is at the bottom of that list so when you click on that it'll take you to it very simple um and on this there's three main uh pages or tabs or whatnot uh or or four depending on what you have is you'll have the analytics q a so here you can search for uh anything that's potentially out there already in your your platform uh bookmark and certified dashboards uh certified dashboards is something that is new we'll talk about that a little bit more here in a second and then of course bookmark and certified data visualizations that are out there these are all separated by tabs so you can go to either any one of them and even filter even further on each tab to uh see further information about that so on each tab here you can kind of see uh what you'll see so for example on the dashboards tab uh all obviously will show all of the dashboards that you have access to uh if you have any of those bookmarked it would show those uh if any of those were certified uh you can actually filter it down to that as well and then also any of those that were created by yourself and you can kind of see that that kind of follows the trend on each one of those tabs so same thing in data visualizations uh the additional thing there is anything that is shared with you from a data visualization standpoint you'll be able to see that as well and then of course on the kpis all of the all of the kpis that you have that you have access to any of those without bookmarked and any that are created by by you so it does you know really filter that information down um really good that you can actually look for exactly what you're looking for you know right out the gate instead of having to look for uh things in many different places so to talk about certified again so this is a really great new feature that you know gives you the ability to now certify a dashboard or data visualization across a department or an organization so this does provide really great governance um so now if anybody is ever curious you know what is the quote-unquote certified data visualization or the way that we should be looking at the data in data visualizations or dashboards is there one that's out there that i know that i can go to to get to get the information that is certified according to my organization and now you have the ability to actually do that and it will actually show that on the dashboard which you'll see here uh shortly in the demonstration you'll actually be able to see that so that is you know in a nutshell which was very fast but i think you're going to get a whole lot more out of the demo itself uh of what's actually there in platform analytics so with that i'm going to turn it over to la vida and she's going to actually show platform analytics workspace so la vida whenever you're ready go ahead and take control thanks thomas hi everybody and i'm really excited to present to you all these cool new features that we are introducing from tokyo release so first step the platform analytics workspace that thomas has talked about so here i'm navigating to the workspaces menu here i can see all the list of workspaces that this user has access to and we introdu use the platform analytics workspace which is an experience or workspace available for all users so i'm going ahead so it launches the analytics center you see analytic center is a module which comes as a default with platform analytics workspace however it is also possible that you include this in any workspace we have attempted for it so it is also possible to configure it but platform analytics workspace comes default with this module configured and in analytic center it's that one place where you can access all the dashboards data visualizations and kpis that you have access to so in the home screen uh we also have the analytics q and a uh feature uh nothing you can ask a query in natural language just let's say open incidents and you would see a result as a chart uh this feature has been there uh since quebec it's nothing new uh for this maybe can be another focus session on this i'll not get into the details of this but you can get the results as a data visualization if you ask the question in english in next step we have the dashboards and data visualizations so in the home screen you can quickly access the bookmark dashboards or the certified ones uh similarly you can access bookmark visualizations or certified later in the demo i'll i'll show you how exactly to bookmark a dashboard or database or even certify either of these and we have expanded tabs for each of these artifacts there are some predefined filters so you you can look at all dashboards as a default or browse through the bookmarks search through them certified or just look at the dashboards created by you and here is an entry point to create new dashboards and in data visualizations tab similarly for data visualizations so the data visualization here um so you can say in the core ui currently what you call reports of pa widgets they are both together now as a data visualization um and you can find them here more details i know thomas will tell you later and here is the list of the kpis or indicators that you have access to that are shared with you and again some predefined filters that you can access uh to filter this list or search through them so this in a nutshell is what platform analytics workspace is with analytic center already configured and available to you over to you tom great awesome thank you let me take sharing back here real quick and then we will move forward so uh thank you for that so next let's talk about um data visualizations there we go so visualization designer uh what is the visualization design so this tool allows users to configure visualization visualizations that can be used across multiple pages or dashboards it gives the ability for better reusability and management of data visualizations you can create visualization once and they can be used in multiple locations and then if you if there's a future change that you have you can create those in one place so it's a really great um you know tool that that that's that's out there and another great aspect of that is you know given the users the ability that maybe doesn't have the business knowledge or the understanding of raw data to get access to you know pre-configured data visualizations that they can add to their dashboards uh and get direct consumption as a quick start for their changes so being able to provide for them things that have already been created uh directly and then putting in their dashboards so really great things so who who will be affected so end user so um has access to the visualization library in the analytics center platform analytics workspace and they're able to view the data visualization shared with them and of course add them to their dashboards if you have the this creator rule this you can actually create new data visualizations and share them with users and groups and of course you can view uh only data visualizations that were shared with uh them and the viz admin role which can view edit and delete all data visualizations in the system same as admin and can share also with roles and mark data visualizations as uh certified so if you need to mark something certified because you know that you're actually creating something that's certified according to your organization you need to make sure that you have that dz admin uh role in order to do that uh how do the how does the feature work so in the analytics center users can find a new tab called data visualizations which levit just showed you just a few moments ago and there you can see a list of all the data visualizations that they have access to you can do a quick filter search of data visualizations in the left panel and then users can view and manage existing data visualizations or of course create new ones in the visualization designer itself how does it work so you can configure new or edit existing reusable visualizations and you can select visualization type configure the data and styling uh you can add description or who who is request who requested the visualization uh you can mark the visualization as certified as i said before which of course is the admin uh role uh and of course you can share it with other users and groups and roles to allow them to reuse it um once the data visualization is added to the dashboard page you can be viewed on that page for all users who have access to it and it doesn't need to be shared with those users additionally so i know that is something that um should be exciting to a lot of people rather than having to share the actual visualization itself with multiple people once it's on the dashboard then everyone can see that and of course you can always bookmark that visualization as well so you can save the visualizations in the ui builder or on the dashboard so use the save reusable visualization and ufb component so save the data visualization um and if you save the data visualization in inline dashboards you can select the library or save data visualization from the add new element so you can add it to the library where other people can see it and get access to it going back to what i was saying earlier where you know if you have the users that aren't uh you know don't really understand the raw data and don't have the access to necessarily create those you can put them in a library and they can add them to their um their dashboards or whatnot so with that uh real quickly we'll go back over to hey thomas before you jump into the demo sure um so this is really great because libidja actually just talked to our pack a couple weeks ago about this um kind of talked a little bit about how this is going to work one of the things i wanted to point out that may not seem obvious is that it now takes um we in within the classic platform that everybody's used to you go to one area to create a report uh visualize your report and then you go to a different area to visualize your performance analysis analytics widget and what's happening here now is you have one place so you can configure your visualization based off of a report or um performance analytics if you are licensed for that so it's just one quick call that i wanted to make to uh say we answered a lot of we had a lot of feedback on that early on is why do i have to go to two different places and oh you know and and do everything differently and so now we have one single place for you to go and do everything so i just wanted to point that out yeah and i appreciate that because i may have actually misspoken earlier in there when i said you you you couldn't do that so that might have been just a a typo and i read it and i probably should have just not done that so i appreciate it no i just point that out uh definitely so um so we do have a good question yeah one of the good questions yeah i was going to say sure and i know that laviga had already answered one uh via but i'll go ahead and ask this one and it says can you please explain a bit more how the access to the data visualization itself separate from the dashboard versus on the dashboard works i get the improvement to similar sharing but for collaborative building of the visualization how would that work so lavija i don't know if you want to go ahead and demo and maybe even talk to that a little bit while you demo or talk to it first and then go into your demo if you'd like yes i can talk to what stephen asked after or while i'm demoing okay let me share my screen again um thanks for pointing that out tara yes now we have a single tool to create what we in the classic in the core ui we called reports npa which is and that's the visualization designer so now i'm in the data visualizations tab i hit this new button and the visualization designer is launched so here first step i choose a chart type so i will go ahead choose single score this here we have all the configuration options available for this data visualization separated in different sections based on the function that they do now i'll go ahead uh select a data source now this is where we see that you could either choose to select a table or an indicator so you don't have to anymore go to different places but use the single interface to create visualizations so i'll go ahead in this case i'm going to ask a question out loud because i think everyone might have it really quick is when thomas was talking about certified is that just on the visualization or is there can there actually be like at this point could they choose a certified indicator to visualize it is it is at the level of visualizations and dashboards okay so i i'm choosing incident table i have here a nice preview of uh what that table's records look like and also the report sources or indicator sources are available under the filter so i could also choose one of the available report sources or add some more conditions with condition builder here i'll just select incident table and there are for example i can also choose a title an incidence and also give a nice description that that will appear on the widget on the whisk here we'll do that and save i'm prompted to enter a name now that creates a data visualization based on table data similarly i could create a visualization now i want to create an indicator data single score just for the simplicity and now i can choose number of open incidents i can see here a preview of what this means so it's an automated indicator based on this indicator source the frequency the direction at the source and there it is of course there there are controls i can choose in the presentation layer uh what to display and what not to display uh but um in the next session that is focused on data virtualizations you will see more about this controls but all these settings are available in the right side panel so you can tweak what is displayed on the data visualization and then i save this coincidence indicator not the best name out there i quickly also want to show the info panel that is available with this visualization and this is also where we can mark a visualization as a certified one so this says this visualization is an approved visualization you can treat it as a certified your source of truth so i can go ahead mark it as certified you see that the certified batch appears and save it i can also share the visualization to users groups and roles so i will share it with the user i can share as editor or viewer so viewers get only view access editor can also edit uh the visualization additionally we have this uh new option so that lets uh the user to share so if i select allow recipients to share then abraham can share this visualization further he he would see the option to share if not no so i would choose to add abraham as editor to confirm and now it is shared with abraham additionally i will also this this is my favorite visualization so i will add to bookmarks so that i can easily access it in analytic center so this uh bookmark is different from the platform favorite feature so it doesn't appear here but it is more in the analytic center so you're kind of pinning this visualization for easy access so i bookmarked that one and i see now it appears in the list of bookmark visualizations here in the home as well as in data visualizations tab it shows up under bookmark visualization so i can easily access uh the ones that i frequently use hey laviga one quick question real quick um as you were sharing can uh can a group be an editor or does it have to be an individual a group can be yes okay great thank you any more questions um yeah we have a we have a few that came here so maybe we can talk about these real quick so the first one is is there any management to see who is using your visualization elements will dashboards break if a visualization element is decommissioned or retired so let's see if there's a visualization on a dashboard that somebody decides to get rid of is that gonna is there gonna be an issue on that on that dashboard no uh so let's say if you're deleting it the dashboard will be fine um what we are also going to do not in tokyo but we are considering right now is to give you more visibility so when you are let's say deleting a visualization there is some message that tells you hey this visualization is used in all these dashboards so are you sure so then you are more informed about the usage of the database that's something that's coming up that we are considering but the dashboard should not break okay great uh next one is is data visualization nothing but the pa widget except that not necessarily it has to have the source as an indicator i think they're trying to compare like you know is that is that basically what it is yeah it is both a widget and a report so it's all together so how we see data visualization we don't anymore you know it can be any data source so it can also just be based off of a table uh it can be based on an indicator or tomorrow we don't know other sources we will add more support for other sources in the future but treat it as a graphic or as a graphical representation of your data but there is also pivot but you know it's a generic data visualization entity i also wanted to note i think it's important to note here that the actual creation and editing of the indicator sources and the indicators you know that the the the data element side in the back end does not change so you still create an indicator source and then that indicator source can be the source for one or more indicators it's so you so to populate this list of indicators you still have to create an indicator the way you would normally the way you would same way you would have previously correct thanks dan it's a good thing to highlight definitely uh and then the last one that we have right now is if you allow recipients to share can viewers when viewers share can they also share do they have to just share with you access or could someone that you share it with turn around and share and give edit access to who they share with yeah that's a very that's a very good question so viewers can only share with you access editors can share in view only or edit access so you can't let's say if you have only view access you can't share it in edit taxes does that answer your question yes i think stephen will let us know if that that that does not answer his question and then the last yes he said it does so awesome uh and then the other one that came in that says can you forecast on a data visualization based on a data source and not an indicator no right now forecast is uh type two indicators okay great thank you okay uh let me take it sharing back and then we'll get into next experience okay great let me move this here real quick so the next thing we want to talk about is what is new as it relates to next experience dashboards um so right off the bat you know we now give the ability to allow non-technical users to create and edit dashboards from the workspace to help collaborate between users and have one single source of truth around data and processes that uh is is really paramount being able to have that single source of truth uh end users can create and edit dashboards using the new inline editor from workspaces system admins or more advanced technical users can uh ui builder or whatnot advanced technical they can create the advanced technical dashboards using the ui builder it is now the add new element drop-down and that gives you ability to add multiple components to the dashboard of course you can access the library so that would be anything that is reusable or saved visualizations that are out there um that have been created via the visualization designer and then also all components so that's configured directly from dashboard uh right side panel and see if i can go to the next there we go so um again end users can create and edit dashboards we talked about that dashboard admin will be able to manage all the dashboards created from the workspaces and again the system admin and ui builder admin can create advanced and technical dashboards using the ui builder so that's kind of who will be affected also the non-uh technical users again can create you know directly from the dashboards uh users will be able to add save data visualizations or can create of course create visualizations filters texts and images directly from the dashboards and uh ui builder admins uh can create pages from templates which we'll see uh here in a little bit as well so this is uh kind of what you'll see and levigil will uh show this uh here in a moment so you can create a new dashboard when you click the new create create dashboard button it will generate a dashboard wherein users will be able to add visualizations filters and text like i said and again if the user has uib uh ui builder admin role they'll be able to see what you see to the right there the technical editor editor where they can create a more advanced uh technical dashboard and we know that we have users that are out there so it really is nice to be able to have um you know two of those so based on what you are and of course what access that you have you can get a little bit more advanced or you'll be able to um you know just create something uh that's directly based on your access there um again when you save so when a user clicks the edit button uh it goes into editing mode uh the save button will be available um you know and to go back to view mode the user will need to click on the exit uh editing mode one big thing to understand is is save automatically uh the changes to dashboard layout it does not happen so make sure that you are definitely clicking that save when you make changes uh save visualization and dashboards real quick so again reusable and save visualization can be added to multiple dashboards and ui builder pages uh if a user has access to edit save visualizations they'll be able to edit those directly from dashboards when a user make changes to save visualizations on a dashboard when they click save they will see a module asking if they want to save the changes to the library or only the dashboard and save visualizations of course added to dashboards are automatically visible to all users who have access to the dashboard so again what we talked about earlier so a user that um maybe it doesn't have to be shared with a user for them to see it if it's on the dashboard and they have access to the dashboard they're going to see that and um uh some really great information and sharing power so each dashboard has an info panel uh that gives the the name description if it's certified of course you'll see that um and let's just show that a little bit earlier visibility is the dashboard visible in one or more workspaces who it was requested by or created by or the last updated by will be there and of course the sharing information will be there sharing is available only from the view mode of the dashboard dashboards can be shared with users groups and roles we talked about that a little bit earlier as well and users can specify if they want to share uh with the viewer to edit and levitja showed that is it am i just sharing it to them or do i want to give them access to edit what i share to them um as well so um so there are also uh templates so and we'll show those here in a second as well so you can embed those as part of any experience with you know uh the help of out of box templates and some of the templates that we have are all dashboards dashboards analytics center visualization designer and kpi details so now one click you know adding a template there will give you those uh particular accesses um this is kind of what templates look like and i'll and lavish i think we'll go into that here in a little bit and we talked about that but here's an actual view of what you uh may see when you you go to select a particular template so with that uh i think we get more of out of actually seeing it so uh levija if you want to go ahead and share and can we do a quick question yeah can we do a i think we have a couple of questions sure and actually i just wanted i just wanted to make sure that we talked about this one because i think it's really important uh the question is that so when you upgrade to this next version will you have to recreate the data visualizations created in the previous so the the nomenclature that we've got is it's recalling kind of the core ui is the previous it's kind of the the previous dashboards core ui those do not yet have a migration path they they will that isn't that is in the pipeline for the product um lid vijay can you correct me if i uh see marta's on here too my understanding is that is targeted that a migration is targeted for the v releases is that correct yes uh we are okay we are uh uh working on that so we want to give some kind of support the migration tool we still the details are unknown uh however uh as of tokyo when i'm showing this demo the data visualizations are built using this new tool and what you have in the code ui are in the core ui so there is in tokyo there is no way to automatically move the old menu yep so the quick answer is today uh yes you would have to recreate if you wanted to create it from if you wanted to do the whole thing again but uh it but if you want to wait on uh the vancouver release for the actual the ability to just migrate what you already had so it's really god that was just letting go just an important question to clarify forever absolutely absolutely thanks dan all right uh and i i see laviga you were actually typing an answer out to one but it might be good just to answer that one out loud as well yes so when you click on the this you would be redirected to the list of records just like now uh what is the behavior this would happen for tables and database views uh for indicators you would be redirected to kpi details uh which is the new uh way of analytics hub what is non-core ui and now is kpi details in the next experience so the drill down would happen i i can show you one my demo sure and then uh are is there any role changes for for users to just access next experience dashboards uh any any role uh can uh so you don't you don't have any role restrictions the dashboard should be shared with you or created by you to view the next experience dashboard so it ha it can be any role but it has to be an internal role so if you have only one role and that is an external one then that is the only case when you can't view next dashboards but otherwise yeah anybody can create and access them okay great yeah so if you're ready to demo we can go into that yes my screen all right so again back in analytics center in dashboards tab i have this option to create new dashboard when i hit that i see i am presented with two options for editors one is the inline editor and technical editor and this this option is shown only if you have uh certain goals like if you are the admin which i am here or if you are a ui builder admin uh because technical editor is nothing but ui builder uh to build a dashboard so you need to be a ui builder admin to see this option if you don't have any of these roles when you click create new it would directly launch you into inline editor so i'll first start with the inline editor so let's build a dashboard for incidents incident management a better description than this create new dashboard so this is what happens when you hit create new and you don't have any of the admin rules that i mentioned you would directly be taken into this ui now here there are multiple uh options to see so here i can also edit the title inline for the dashboard add a tab uh right now uh by default i am in editing mode if i exit edit more then i am in the view mode of the dashboard and this is where i can choose what to add on the dashboard so if you look at the elements here we have different components data visualization so all the charts uh single score uh pi bar so there are a set of chart types that we support currently all of them are bundled into the data visualization component apart from that you can add filters so these are unified filters uh some other supporting elements like heading image list uh the list of records and which text so i will uh library is the place where you can access the data visualizations created using visualization library so these are the ones that you create and then reuse across multiple dashboards or even uxf pages so i will choose a safe data visualization here so let me choose i created the open incidents we'll add that here so it gets added let me add a new tab so now when i do that whatever was initially there is in my tab one and in the new tab i will add a data visualization element so i i can also create data visualizations on that on the dashboard so i can drag and drop so with the settings i am presented with the configuration panel now this data visualization i create in this way only exists on this dashboard so it is not available for reuse but if you have to create uh something that is only relevant for this dashboard then you can do so by adding the element directly onto the dashboard just like i did now let me go ahead configure this one choose maybe a vertical bar it's the same configuration options that you would see otherwise also in visualization designer for this component and next i would choose the data source i can choose table just some time for it to load oh it was loading now shouldn't have changed that i want to switch back to vertical bar add the data source we'll choose incident select group by category and that's my bar chart so uh the other advantage of inline editor this is very flexible to be used by end users so users with very low to no technical knowledge can work with this editor it's easy drag and drop interface you can resize it however you want and you can this is pretty much flexible layout that you can work with uh and when i added a tab you notice this top section that is common across tabs so here you can choose to place uh some data elements that are common across all tabs so let's say i want to add a filter here so let me drag and drop a filter there and i want this filter to apply across tabs so i could place it in this comment section and i will configure the filter my instance is slow but just before the demo it was working perfectly fine well of course it was that's the way it works the way demos work [Music] all right maybe safe okay while it looks maybe i can show you the technical editor so because i have the role i see this option otherwise not so when i create advanced dashboard yeah maybe problem management description not mandatory but good practice create new dashboard now it would launch ui builder maybe i did not choose proper b so it it actually launches ui builder when you do that and it will take you into this interface and here you can choose to add there are more choice of elements available here but this also needs some some technical knowledge because it involves some scripts if if you want you can also do some scripting do some data bindings and all the other features that ui builder offers and here you choose the data visualization component so this component is the same that we saw before for uh database that are only available on this dashboard or alternatively choose save database so this would uh bring up all the visualizations that we created for reuse using visualization designer so you could add those components and then the configurations are available here options are available here and you save that now this is available for the end users there is no difference right so let me reload that when i when you share the dashboard and i access the dashboard as the viewer of the dashboard i don't see any difference between a dashboard created using inline editor like this one i created using inline editor before and uh a dashboard creator this i created before using ui builder so i would not see any difference as an end user but as a dashboard creator i would be presented with more advanced options if i were to use the advanced dashboard editor which is the ui printer okay let let me give it another shot to configure this filter if not um yep so here i'll choose incident table assignment group save exit editing mode and now this filter applies to by default uh we set the visualizations to follow filters you don't have to do addition setting uh so now by default these two visualizations follow this filter and since it is in this uh you can you know build the dash board in such a way that is evident this whatever is in this common area applies to all tabs but still you can also choose to add internally tap level filters that will only apply to data visualizations so in the in the settings you can always choose of course not to follow the filter so we have a settings option for that whether to follow the filter or not um okay if it's not learning so the video while that's loading real quick question is relevant to tabs so if you create a data visualization on one tab is it exclusive just to that tab or can because it's within the dashboard can it be moved to another tab it can be moved okay it can be moved to another tab it's it's uh it's exclusive to the dashboard so if so you can easily so is the dashboard created in uib versus inline editor and interchangeable object and the only difference is the environment you're working in in other words are there any gotchas in creating a dashboard in uib and taking it to the inline editor or vice versa uh yes there are gotchas so think of it this way steven um you know how now we have really cool things that can be done in the platform but require assist admin to do them so a lot of scripting you can build custom visualizations but they do need to be done by a cis admin so uib is just the new tool that sysadmins would leverage so we would only use uib to build a dashboard if you were doing something super complicated super customized otherwise for most users we would just stick with inline editor because um there is no they're not interchangeable you can't go from one to the other it really is the new base way of working within the platform the uib and so you do need to have you need definitely need to be technical you definitely need to have an understanding of the environment that you're working in because you're actually building workspaces um with uib so it's not it's basically what our system admins do today and what we call our classic environment in with lists and forms and building all that stuff it's just a different a new tool to do it so um does that help you yeah i could actually hear your voice saying those words um so yeah sorry about that and we did do a specific pack on on dashboard inline editor we we have um dan myself and thomas have tasked ourselves with figuring out um a good workshop and and walking you guys through this um uh as we start moving into this environment of different moving parts and stuff so we will get we will get on that awesome great thank you um yeah this is the option i wanted to show so you can toggle that off uh for the database not to follow filters anymore we'll save that exit editing mode yes it can save changes oh yeah and you see uh we also have this notification that comes up let's say if you made some changes on uh a reusable data visualization on this dashboard then it would pop up give you this notification do you want to this changes that you made to be applied only to this data visualization uh on this dashboard if you want to only change for this dashboard and if you choose this option then it will create a copy of this data visualization on your dashboard which means it is not affected on other dashboards reusing the same data visualization however if you say save changes to library then whatever changes you do in the configuration are impacted on all the dashboards that this data visualization is used on and this is for data visualizations created using visualization designer so you have that option additional option that pops up when you are editing data visualizations on a dashboard and then the sharing options in the dashboard similar to virtualization you can share it with users groups and roles and the same rules apply you can also give sharing access or not you can add address viewer or address editor when you share uh the dashboard and in the info panel we have the certified flag you can mark this dashboard as a certified dashboard as an approved uh certified uh dashboard that you want your users to look at and of course there is also the shared with information that you can see which again brings up the dialogue available as a summary here save okay i will choose to save changes to library uh i see that pop up because i changed uh property of this uh data virtualization that i that is from the library or that is created using the visualization designer all right uh now that i mark that that has certified i it will also appear in the certified dashboards that i can see in the analytics center home so now it appears here the incident management dashboard that is all some questions sure and and we have a few but let me let me first say that i think that um a really deep dive into actually building dashboards out and and next experience and what we can do i think it's probably a session that we're going to put on because i know that this this is this is pretty fast and i know that you know laviga didn't you know show you everything so i think that um just i think just just know in the next few sessions there definitely is going to be another one we'll come back to this and i think that we'll take a a deeper dive into uh everything that you see on the screen because there was a lot that um you know i recognize that we weren't able to cover uh in this real real quick uh demo here but uh so la vida you're gonna be on the hook for another one so look for that so um yeah a couple of the questions that we have is um will next experience dashboards include usage analytics do we know that i believe the answer is no for now um it is in the pipeline but correct me if i'm wrong uh you can build data visualizations using usage analytics as a data source so it will appear if you have the right plugin installed so in that sense you can have data visualizations with user experience analytics um i'm not sure if this usage analytics is the same as the one i'm talking about my guess though is i think what you danielle is asking about is probably along the lines of tracking usage of the of the content of the dashboards themselves so i'm thinking like yeah for usage like user experience analytics okay um no we don't have uh as of now any usage analytics for the dashboards but we have plans uh for it okay so yep danielle says yep that's what she was wondering but it is in the so it's something that's in the it's it's in our it's in the pipeline it's just getting it where on the road map we're not sure of yet is that what i'm hearing yes okay okay great um marta is answering one um so this question is need some clarification so will an idle user be default for inline editor uh if not what are what are those that an idol can't do that inline editor can do so i'm thinking they're talking about the actual access so is that will an idle user see that or is there some other role that they would need or no the i2u user will be by default and inline editor that's it yes okay great and we had a plus one on uses analytics for dashboards that was a vote so i would i would say uh that is a great vote or or put in for the ideal portal so go in the community and put that in and then other people if that's something that you want let's get some votes on that so we can get that you know hopefully move to the top and we'll see that in the future um um tom do you want me to show the templates real fast here or sure sure [Music] absolutely so as i said the platform analytics workspace for example comes by default with this uh pre-configured analytics center and there is this page that lists uh all the dashboards that the user has access to but let's say if you're creating an experience and you want something like this let's say you only want this one particular page to be available then we have uh some templates that we make available uh that you can use to create pages in your experience i'm just choosing platform analytics workspace here but it could be any experience any custom experience that you have created and in there when you create choose to create a page um [Music] then you'll be presented with all the templates that are available so these are all the list of templates that are there so dashboards is the template where you can uh uh provide a page with the dashboard switcher uh you know currently also similar experience in core ui so where the user can access all the dashboards that they have access to or edit the ones that they have edit access to share so just access all of them or look at one of them and shift between the others uh using this drop down here and we also have visualization designer so if you use this template you will you can now have a page launch the visualization designer tool and then we have the analytics center which is this whole module that comes with a home tab all of these tabs so pretty much this whole experience that i have shown with all of these tabs available so that's analytic center and we have only dashboard so all dashboards is the dashboard overview so you would then create a page with all these predefined filters and all the dashboards are shown in card view and you can search among the among these dashboards uh and kbi details we did not cover anything but you can create a page uh for kpi details and have it on click of some link for example you can build this experience in uib uh that those are all the templates just as an example for example i will choose all dashboards i would select this template then a page is created from this template so i can any name new dashboards so you could either choose to use the original template as it is which means you can't customize the elements that are available much you have to use it as it is given otherwise you can also choose to duplicate the template in here you have more flexibility in the sense you know in some cases you can also delete uh some content for example if you are creating a page using analytic center template and using copy contents and if you don't want to see for example the kpi tab you could delete the kpi tab you know that allows for full customization but of course then you would lose all the later updates that are made on the templates but if you use original then you're always uh reusing what is made available as part of the template so here i used original but just to show you an example uh of the page so this is a new page i created and i have the dashboard overview view in this page that's all about the page templates okay great thank you so we have a couple a couple minutes left here let's see if we can um there's two questions that uh came in so uh will the debugger filter be available kind of i'm not sure uh what's no right now it's not in the plans uh or at least on the timeline that we have right now uh till vancouver and washington and that's not currently in the plan but um if you have specific use cases so uh why you think that the back filter is useful just please send us a message and we will consider them for the future okay great thank you marta and then the last one is uh would any user be able to create a content block the next experience uh if that is uh the rich text yes any user can create a rich text on the dashboard but if instead they want to create uh something that it's more um scripting or like uh there are like codes part of like content blocks could also be dynamic and have charts custom charts in it uh then uh for now the idea is that you will be using the technical dashboards and the ui builder to create those okay great thank you marta uh thank you make sure that you're utilizing um now learning um maybe that's a real quick question for marta or laviga is there anything that you are aware of that has already been added to now learning that relates to anything that we covered today not yet but is in progress so we do hope that in in the next few months we will be able to deliver the trainings for all of this okay great thank you um the
