[Music] my name's laurence tyndall here at glidefast consulting and in today's tutorial i'm going to show you how to update the logo that is displayed in the banner frame of your servicenow instance this is a super easy update and only takes a few minutes if you are new to servicenow then it's an essential update that you'll want to make to your company's logo please note in order to perform this update you'll need the admin role assigned to your user account the first thing you'll want to do is open up service now and type in basic configuration into the application navigator you'll notice that we have two modules basic configuration and basic configuration ui 16. in the first module basic configuration this module is used for updating the system configuration for users that are still using the ui 15 user interface please note user interface 15 is slightly outdated so we won't be updating the banner image in this module that being said if users at your organization use ui 15 and dui 16 then you'll want to update the banner image on this page also in the next module basic configuration ui 16 this is the module which allows you to configure system properties for the user interface we're currently in which is the latest one to update the banner image simply click on the plus icon and select the image that you wish to upload as you can see the glidefast logo is now being displayed in the banner frame of my instance i'm happy with how it looks so i'm going to click save please note when creating and uploading an image to use as a banner image in service now it's best practice to use a png image that is a transparent background that way the theme color of your banner frame will be visible behind your company's logo and it will look a lot more visually pleasing to your users and that is all for today's tutorial on changing your company's logo in service now good luck and thanks for watching
