Storage Devices Discovery - Quick and Crisp

Hi All

Just Publishing this quick and crisp article for Storage devices which uses CIM credentials for discovery.

  1. The Shazzam probe launches the wbem port probe as part of network discovery.
  2. The wbem port probe detects activity on target ports SLP 427, CIM 5989 and 5988, and then examines the Service Registry Queries related list, at , for the SLP query. The base system provides this query to detect the service:wbem service type, which indicates the presence of an SLP server.

(1) Port Details for Opening

Service Now Instance ----------Mid Server IP ------5988 5989 427 ----------- Storage Infra

(2) Create a CIM credentials

(2) Run a Quick Discovery for a Given IP

(3) Discovery Output

Discovered CIs.

Once Discovery is done IP will be added into Affinity list of the CIM credentials.
