ServiceNow San Diego - Business Continuity Management - Copy Feature
[Music] hey everyone it's justin thanks for watching in this video i'm going to cover some new features or one new feature in business continuity management and that's the ability to copy now you're probably like justin why are you making a video about a copy feature and the reason is it's a big deal business continuity management did not get the workspace uplift that we saw on the rest of the products um in san diego so what you can see behind me it's kind of the the version you know 0.9 of the what was become the new workspaces so it's got a similar look and feel it just hasn't been migrated over to that next experience yet where we'd see all that functionality we're used to seeing but copying things in business continuity management is huge because there's a lot that goes into the business impact analysis and the continuity plans that you might be building as part of your bcm strategy all right so business impact analysis analysis is looking at what's the impact should something go wrong should something go down should something be not available and understanding what that is and the continuity plan is what do we do when it happens um what is this actions we need to take right so there's various things that are related to that let's go ahead i'm logged in as chip who is one of our demo personas and he's got this business con or business impact analysis for customer portal so i'll pull up the customer portal and i'll point out right away upper right copy button right so like you said like i said in the beginning big deal it's just a copy button but here's what the big deal is look below i've got the rto impact assessment let's compact this little bar here rto impact assessment letting me know the legal impact the reputation impact the revenue impact the workforce impact and these all have specific things inside of them where we're saying the impact rating is low moderate high whatever it is and what disruption we're expecting so that's all for recovery time objective recovery point objectives we could have questions and risks associated with that so in this one i don't have any in my demo but they could be there right so these will be associated and then i have all the details of that particular business impact analysis that is going to process that so hitting this copy feature is going to pull up this box where i can give it a new name we'll just call this demo bia and i'll confirm that and it's going to copy the bia and everything related to it so let's hop on over there's my demo bia and we should come in here and we should see i've got you know basically no information on the the impact assessment result because it's in draft mode but i've copied over my rpo information or rto my rto information i didn't have any rpo information and some of the details that came as part of that business impact analysis so if i go back home here same thing on the continuity plans side of things so we'll go back home and we'll just look at uh i think i got two that are published here and yeah human resources business continuity plan same thing i've got my overview page for all this planned stuff um but look at these lost scenarios so cyber threat loss of business apps loss of critical vendor personnel and workpla works place can't speak today um associated with that and then the scope associated with it so accounts payable accounts receivable customer support um and hired to retire so lots of other details that i have to go rebuild and do all this stuff so once again we'll show you the new copy button right round up a pause a new button in the upper right um if i hit copy it's going to create a copy of this we'll just call this demo cp or continuity plan hit confirm there and that should get a confirmation message that the plan was successfully copied so if we come over here and look at our in draft items we have the demo continuity plan that we just made look at that my scope was copied over accounts payable counts receivable just like aside saw before the five lost scenarios have all been copied over and you're up and running on your new business impact analysis on your business continuity plan so yes it's a small feature copy but it's a big deal if you're working in bcm and trying to get those analysis and those plans together or farming that out to individuals in the business to get that done i hope you found this video helpful if you did please like please subscribe or share it with somebody you think might be interested until next time i'll see you on the next one [Music] [Applause] you
