Configurable Page v1.1.0
[Music] hey everyone it's justin thank you for watching in this video i'm revisiting configurable page from the servicenow innovation lab my first video hasn't even published yet it hasn't gone live and servicenow released a new version this version is actually worth making another video on so that's what i'm doing now and what's new in this particular version we've only gone from 1.0 to 1.1 but it's actually a big enhancement essentially servicenow has given us the ability to add multiple containers or multiple rows on the service portal page where we have the configurable page loaded so we still had the same control and default settings that we had with the previous one but now your users can add a row that's 12 or eight by four four by four by four or four by eight and then add another row that's 12 or add another row that's four by four by four so they can really start altering the layout of that portal page let's take a look at what that actually looks like i'm going to go to the service portal page that i had set up before no changes here i'll put a little preview of me actually doing the update all i did was go to the application settings in service now hit update that was it i didn't have to change anything i didn't have to go reconfigure everything i still have my menu button over here to configure the view and when i click on that we get a new configuration option just above my head there and i'll call your attention to what's new number one add new layout so translate this to add new row you can see i have row one because this is how i did it before there's only one row if i were to click this add layout button we'll go ahead and click that now now i'm gonna get this row two so now you can see i have the ability to add more than one row to my to my configurable page so now i've got three rows going on i've got all my original widgets that were there before i can change the layout so if i wanted this one up top to maybe be three and i want to move this app launcher down to one of my new rows that i added i'll just scroll on down and we'll put that in the row three so now it's in row three all the way at the bottom i still got row two where i can put something in let's move the announcements to row two we'll just drag that on down and now i've got row two now i could change the layout options for row two to be a different um a different layout so with the one by one or one by three or two by three or whatever it is i can change that per row now and have a different look and feel i'm going to save so you can see there's my three one two three columns there's my one column for the announcements in my one column for my apps and then i still have the default ones that i can't change at the very top so you can make sure that your users have to have some required ones at the very top and then if they want to come in and configure their view it's as simple as clicking on those buttons configuring it reset it to default it'll go back to the way the admin set it up when they originally configured the configurable page i hope you found this video helpful if you did please like please subscribe or share it with somebody who you think might be interested in personalizing their service portal pages with these new enhancements and until next time don't forget always be learning [Music] you
