hey everybody i'm back with another teaser for knowledge 22. this session is by phil swann he's stacking with how to make code available for citizen developers let's get right into the discussion [Music] hey phil what are you presenting that knowledge this year hey jase well first of all thanks for having me um so my session this year is called how to make your code available to citizen developers that sounds amazing who should attend that session so this is really for developers people that like to write code on servicenow okay and it's about how do we make our code the code that we love to write how do we make it available to the citizen developer community but actually it's also about how do we make our code more available to ourselves to our colleagues and to the citizen developer community how can we make the work we do more valuable and avoid having to rewrite code or write code twice because if we do it in a certain way and if we organize our code and if we present our code using tools like flow designer then our code becomes more and that's the point that's awesome i wasn't asked why should people attend it but i think you nailed it there is there anything else you'd like to add about your session um you know the the kind of the point that i try to make generally is that we should abstract the complexity focus on and expose the simplicity so what i mean by that is that as developers we love to write code and we like to do that heavy lifting and there's still a role for us in this world writing code but we need to do it in a certain way to enable the business to consume the functionality that we're building that's that's the point here is like citizen development doesn't mean no more jobs for developers it means more jobs for developers to make it easier and give those building blocks and and allow the business to consume our applications and make that workflow that was a great topic i wish i could see it in person if you want to see it in person it'll be at the hague on the 12th and if you can't see it in person like me you can check it out digitally on may 9th links below thanks everybody
