[Music] hey everyone it's justin here thanks for watching in this video i want to talk about slack and service now that's right slack the messaging collaboration app and service now there's several out-of-the-box integrations that you can use to enhance your flows your communications and generally kind of help your team organize better around the activities that might be happening in servicenow so i've got activated in my demo instance the slack messaging integration for virtual agents you can see it there i've connected them already made sure that authentication was there and they could talk and because i've done that now i can actually let me just tell this virtual agent buy i can actually talk to the virtual agent from within slack so i'll go ahead and end this conversation i had one there i was making sure everything was working for the demo and then i can start a new one just by typing hi and then start to have a conversation with the virtual agent so let me just say on this one email is not working and send that and so the virtual agent is going to do its job to try to figure out uh what actually isn't working so we'll just say hey i'm having email issues and let it respond we'll respond with i can't send email uh actually yeah can't send email so it comes back with the list of things i can try so maybe you know try sending something with a smaller attachment or closing and reporting and i'll just say no this didn't work for me and what we should get to here is some knowledge articles about spam and phishing scams all that's configurable about how many times we provide information or look for additional information from the user and we'll just say show more and this will be some more information and i'll just say i'm done this isn't really helping me and i'll say no this didn't resolve my issue and i'll say yes i'd like to open a ticket and that will go ahead and get that ticket started for me and it gives me a summary of it so it took that short description of can't send email based on my responses to it created the incident assigned it to a group and put my name on it and everything and i can click on go to incident or say no there's nothing else that it can assist you with all from within slack so that's the first thing i wanted to show you the second thing i wanted to show you is if you're an agent like you're somebody working on ticket how is that going to help you so what i did is i created a system notification for a comment being added to an incident so a couple of things here one i'm triggering on an event it's a pre-configured event that an incident receives a comment and when that event triggers i said i want you to send a message to the assigned to for that ticket so whoever's listed and that assigned to you will get that message within slack so let's go ahead and open up this test notification or test incident that i have here and i'm going to move my head back over to the left and we'll pull back up slack here so that we have it in the background and we'll just keep that there so i've got this i'm just going to add some additional comments that was the one thing i'd make sure it wasn't the work notes it was additional comments so i'm just going to say demo of slack and service now working together and go ahead and post that and real quickly i'll pull up slack so you can see that as it comes through in real time so pay attention to the upper right we should receive since i'm justin and i'm on the assigned to field for that particular ticket and i'll just highlight that real quick here see me on the assigned to and we should see a slack notification message come through yep we'll get rid of that guy there and we can see a notification has arrived you can continue the conversation after viewing the notification and there's the additional comments demo of slack and servicenow working together so that's two examples of how you can use slack to make your life easier make your life better as you're working around in servicenow and in slack if you like this video please like please subscribe or if you think someone else might find it helpful share it with them thanks for watching and i'll see you on the next one [Music] you
