Remove Email signatures from Inbound email action triggered journal entry
Dear all,
Here is a solution on how to remove those email signatures from your journal entries triggered or posted via an inbound email action.
Without the solution:
The journal
With the solution:
The solution:
Email Reply separator
Pre-requisites:
Email should be sent to the email address configured on the From field in SMTP account - here (replace with instance name)
Then create a new entry in the module Email reply separator. (System Policy > Email > Email Reply Separator)
Give it a name - Signature separator.
You can configure a email reply separator to identify either a String pattern or a regex pattern.
Here, we are configuring the 'Signature separator' to identify a common string in signatures
i.e. New line and the phrases - Thanks and Regards
We should specify this in the Separator field.
Provide a description to your configuration.
This should help you remove signatures in the reply that is received in the instance.
Remember this is configured to identify string pattern. I hope people reading this article can also come up with regex to identify the keywords 'Thanks', 'Regards', 'Best wishes', etc. which are the common ones used on signatures or else we need to write email reply separator for each one of those.
Note - The email reply separator acts on all incoming emails received at the SMTP mailbox address, given that the received email type is a 'Reply'.
Mark this article Helpful, if this helps you get rid of signatures, you may even bookmark it for reference.
Cheers,
Anish
