how's it going everybody my name is zachary easley and i'm a solutions consultant here at servicenow today i'd like to take some time to talk to you about some of the new changes to the san diego release of the now platform specifically around it operations management and in this video our new service graph connectors again there's a quite a few new changes to the itom suite i'd like to implore you to take some time and take a look at some of the other videos we're releasing to give you a little more insight on exactly what has changed but again for today specifically we're going to be talking about the new service graph connectors for the uninitiated service graph connectors are standardized ways to ingest data into the cmdb and make it easily accessible on the now platform we release new connectors on a regular basis via the servicenow store and in san diego we're bringing new connectors for observability cloud native stack monitoring and use cases it will help customers consolidate all of their cloud infrastructure in one place if you're looking to improve visibility of your modern cloud native stack and manage that distributed data across multiple teams all in one central platform then service graph connectors for servicenow are for you these connectors send information on monitoring observability apis and other data sets from multiple sources into the cmdb in a standardized way some of the connectors being introduced are aws and tanium as we will be focusing on these two today ideally these are going to help customers ingest multi-stack data into the cmdb with one consistent data model to drive application delivery outcomes in addition to our new service graph connectors we're introducing the dynamic ire that's our identification and reconciliation engine to bring data into the cmdb in a smarter manner especially when it's spread across multiple data sources now before we dive in and i show you how you can begin to install and set up these new service graph connectors i want to make a note that you will need to have access to the itom visibility package in order to utilize the service graph connectors the only exception to this being the service graph connector for microsoft's sccm this is the one service craft connector whose entitlement and use is exempt from all licensing so here we are in the servicenow store that's store.servicenow.com once you jump into here i recommend just clicking on the integrations tab typing aws into the search bar and then if you scroll down we have our service graph connector for aws right here i'm going to go ahead and click into it and really quickly i would just like to show you some of the dependencies that this service graph connector requires so we have a couple plugins here that you'll need to go ahead and make sure you have access to beyond that it's the same exact method for tanium so we'll go ahead and jump in there and i'll also pull up the dependencies so that you can take a look here we are for tanium scrolling down and just taking a look at our dependencies so you have an idea of what might be in required so to go ahead and get started the first thing you're going to want to do is click the get button right here on the store page and that's going to process a request to allow you to begin installing the plugins within your servicenow instance so let's go ahead and take a look at what that might look like so once you're inside your service now instance the first place you're going to want to go to is the system definition for plugins once this page loads first you're going to want to grab some of those dependencies that we showed a few minutes ago from there if we go ahead and type in titanium for example we'll see the service graph connector will pop up and you'll be able to run the installer right here that might take you know a few minutes maybe an hour to make sure we have all of those custom tables installed and running on your system so please be patient and ideally we'll be able to take you on to that next step which is getting ourselves set up and running with our new service graph connectors so now that you have your dependencies and your service graph connector installed you're going to go ahead and just type the name of the service craft connector into the filter navigator from here it should pull up a couple modules for you to click on i suggest jumping into the setup guide that'll take you right here where we can follow some step-by-step instructions to get us set up and configured in this case for tanium i'm going to really briefly just tag into this configuration guide for the connection and credentials and i'm just going to scroll through them really quick so that you have uh just a brief understanding of what what might be coming down the pipeline should you intend to start setting this up yourself again feel free to pause the video at any time i'm just going to scroll through these really quickly now it's also not worth noting that everybody's installation is going to be different and if you for example are going to need to integrate multiple instances of tanium we have a setup guide for you here as well as if you need to get a little more advanced for those aix and solaris os platforms we have a guide for you right here as well all right and for the aws integration it's quite similar to what we did with tanium assuming you have your dependency plugins and the service graph connector for aws plugin installed in your servicenow instance you can go ahead and type aws into the search search bar here and once you click on the setup button you will be able to click get started which will bring you into a very similar setup guide like we saw for tanium a couple things to note here specifically for aws from experience i know that you may need access to the main slash billing account for the aws environment that you plan on connecting to i also recommend you grab these scripts these are just a couple yaml scripts that you'll have to run in the cloud formation module in aws but beyond that the setup is quite similar it is a little bit longer i would like to note this here once you go to start the setup instructions this drop down i would recommend starting from the setup introduction a little bit of a read here but i think it'll be worth it in the end and it could save you a lot of headache all in all i hope this video was a good kickstart guide for you to begin your service graph connector journey specifically on some of the new service graph
