welcome everyone my name is erin roberts i am a solution consultant specializing in strategic portfolio management spm formerly known as itbm today we'll be discussing the san diego release updates for strategic portfolio management we'll specifically focus on the csdm changes as well as the apm changes and we'll introduce a new product dpm in this video let's take a look at the changes made to servicenow common service data model in our san diego release the csdm is a framework or blueprint that you can follow when you set up your servicenow application including spm following this model ensures that the data for that application maps correctly to the appropriate tables with the updates coming in the san diego release we now provide a framework and guidance on managing shared data across all products on the knob platform enhancing visibility to all products work items that are major part of spm such as ideas demands projects and epics can now be associated with all digital products on the knob platform these changes make it easier for teams to have a complete view of each stage of the product life cycle these changes make it easier for teams to have a complete view of each stage of the product life cycle one of the biggest changes introduced to spm in the san diego release is digital portfolio management dpm allows you to holistically manage and maintain all your services applications and products from a single location using dpm enables you to surface data from solutions that you own as well as from solutions that you don't own but rely on solution owners need one place to view all of the apps and services they own and manage dpm's unified workspace allows owners to holistically view and collectively manage their services apps and products through the entire lifecycle also you can integrate dpm with the ppm alignment planner workspace application to see the roadmap of services their performance levels and view a comprehensive roadmap leveraging both spm apm and dpm workspace provides a view into performance and contacts for business applications services and service offerings service owners can see what they're planning for what's in progress right now and how are things running moving on to the changes made to apm one of the main changes introduced in the san diego release is the by sdlc component view in tpm the by sdlc component view displays the sdlc components application services hardware models and software models structure in a succession also the business applications are shown with the same indentation level of application services in the business application section with this view you can view all the sdlc components along with the associated application services and business applications you can also view the underlying software and hardware models that are associated to the application services when you expand software and hardware models you can view their sources the by sdlc component view is available when servicenow common service data model 4.0 is implemented why did we build this this now allows our customers to drive visibility and insight at the sdlc component level in the technology portfolio management page use the drop down menu to select the buy sdlc component option with this view you can only view the application services that have at least one sdlc component associated use the enter search sdlc component field to enter the name and search an sdlc component from the list in the sdlc component column thanks for joining me today to review the san diego release updates for spm i hope this was helpful you can also go to the servicenow document page to get more detailed information thanks
