hello everyone so today we are going to be talking about the new rom release feature that we have got which is scheduling plug-in installations so today i'll be just it would be a quick video i'll be just working with you guys uh trying to install a plug-in by scheduling it you know a couple of minutes later and let's see how it goes so even i have not seen how it's you know behaving in the new rom release i have not activated a plug-in as yet so this is my first time so yeah let's start so i want to play around with event management module so i'll you know choose that event management code i'll just pick this one so as you can see here on the screen we have got an new uh sort of a button which says schedule installation so once you click on this one it will basically give you a date and a time to select from and also you know informs you what version would be installed once the plugin is installed onto the system right so i will be so right now i will be picking up a time which is maybe yep so i picked up the time that i want it's a couple of minutes from the actual time and once i've done this i will be clicking next so once i have clicked next it gives me another which is schedule installation the installation for version will start at this okay if the installation isn't complete within the schedule period you should do the same okay we can reschedule uh we have got two options over here to re schedule the plug installation automatically or we cannot choose the option do not schedule so i just usually can do it for now and that's all so also the usual it also gives us the dependencies that are the plugins that will be installed with it all good i think we are good so i will just submit the request so it's created now if i do a refresh let's see how that comes up uh it's taking a bit of time gain so once i've scheduled the installation and i come back to the plugin it gives me you know a different look and feel to the button and also gives me an information installation for version issue scheduled on this particular time and date that we've selected right so that's how it is and obviously we can if we click on it we can reschedule the time which is fine so let's wait for a couple of minutes and you know i'll be back all right so uh i'm back so the plugin is still being installed it's uh taking a bit of time but again while it's being installed i just wanted to walk through walk you through what exactly you can do just in case you're logged in to the instance so if you click here you can see the plugins currently being installed which is currently running any installation status which was failed or successful and in addition to this you have got another info here which is installation in progress click here to view the details so if you click on this it will be pulling in the details of the plugin be being installed which is the event management core right so again i can let it continue in the background and meanwhile once this is done you all know that you know the plugin would be installed successfully and yeah that's how it is that's how the schedule plugin installation works so that's all for today do like the video if you think it was informative and helpful and do subscribe to my youtube channel for further upcoming content about servicenow thank you everyone and have a good day bye
