Dynamic Translation | Dynamic translation on forms and activity streams
Inside any table on the platform, the
text in forms and activity streams can be dynamically translated based
on the user’s preferred language. After the Dynamic Translation plugin is installed
and one translation service is set to default, we need to configure a dictionary. For this,
you’ll need to login with admin rights. We’ll use an open incident from
the incident table as an example. As you can see, the short
description is written in French. Also, notice there is only one icon
to the right of the text field. To enable the translation for this field,
which will give us another icon, we need to configure a dictionary. Right click on the short
description label and select configure dictionary. Add a new attribute called “Dynamic Translation
Enabled,” set the value to true, and submit. When we return to the incident,
we see a new icon for translation! Click the icon and the text in the field will
be translated to the user’s preferred language. In this case, it’s translated to English. And if we go to the activity stream, we’ll see that translation is
automatically enabled here as well. For more information, see our product
documentation, knowledge base, or podcast. Or ask a question
in the ServiceNow Community.
