What's new in Rome for IntegrationHub

Import · Sep 02, 2021 · article

Digital workflows need to seamlessly connect to hundreds of different business apps, systems of record, and cloud infrastructure for work to flow efficiently across the enterprise. Existing systems of record are often siloed but must not be bypassed, and instead be part of the end-to-end workflow solution. However, integration complexity is only increasing due to the proliferation of more and more SaaS and on-prem apps, combined with the accelerated pace of digital transformation necessary to succeed in today's rapidly changing environment. With the average enterprise having over 600 SaaS apps, traditional integration approaches such as point-to-point custom integrations and general purpose iPaaS are no longer fast enough.

In order to accelerate time to value, reduce cost, and deliver integrations at scale, Gartner proposes that IT leaders implement SaaS-embedded packaged integrations for common use cases in major systems of record. IntegrationHub is the only integration solution that's embedded in the Now Platform® and all ServiceNow® workflows for fastest time to value, lowest TCO, and ease of use for all ServiceNow developers creating workflows in Flow Designer, App Engine Studio, and Virtual Agent Designer.

Since Quebec, we’ve delivered a tremendous amount of new value for IntegrationHub customers - Solutions, Flow Templates, and Spokes - to rapidly integrate and automate common ServiceNow workflow use cases that involve external systems.

Let's take a look at what’s new in the Rome family release and the Store releases since Quebec.

Rome Family Release

IntegrationHub Import

IntegrationHub Import enables ServiceNow admins and process owners to import large data sets quickly and easily into ServiceNow. It replaces the complexity of previous approaches - Robust Transform Engine and Import Sets - with a simplified user interface and three step process:

  1. Configure the data source from available IntegrationHub spokes.
  2. Map to target with easy drag and drop of data pills to map source to target table and apply transformations as needed.
  3. Schedule, run, and monitor progress.
