what's up servicenow community i'm mark scott and i've been doing a lot of interviewing lately we're doing the interview now not you so i'm gonna let you in on a little secret come a little closer a little closer that's it some of you have terrible linkedin profiles you're just creepy but that's okay because today we're going to look at the top five servicenow linkedin mistakes okay that was lame uh now i know what you're probably thinking to yourself but mark i don't need to keep linkedin up to date i have a resume wrong giving someone a resume is an active task meaning that if you don't give it to them they can't see it linkedin is searchable and recruiters have tons of candidates so they don't want to read your resume they make snap decisions based on what they see on your profile so it better be up to date wait this guy looks kind of interesting wait what there's nothing here why even try no detail is just as bad as not having a linkedin this goes back to our search ability as well i can't find you without keywords worse yet if i do find you i know nothing about you so you get nothing so make sure you're putting as much detail into your profiles as possible if you're going to make it in the servicenow world you need to be certified that's right certifications aren't just pieces of paper uh my papers business papers certifications tell recruiters that you've got the technical ability to be working with the platform you worked really really hard to get them so don't forget to put them on your profile yeah you'll be in a lot of trouble for most of us this probably isn't your first job and you might want to list everywhere you've ever worked i consider experience experience fight that urge especially if you're a senior level or above stick to just the ones that are relevant a short concise profile is much better than a cluttered mess we don't need to know that you stocked shelves when you were 17 but if you work the service desk that totally qualifies just give me a minute i can't believe we're still doing this all i can do right now is put on a brave face and go out there and be there later oh okay i think i've recovered but let's get a few things straight it's not sn it's not service dash now it's not snow it's service now big s big n no space it this really speaks to the search ability of your profile again recruiters are just going to use control f so you might as well make it easy for them take it easy on yourself there you have it five quick and easy ways to get your linkedin profile into tip top shape if you enjoyed this particular brand of vodka don't forget to like and subscribe you
