hello i'm deborah mcgrath senior technical product marketing manager at servicenell over the next few minutes i'll be demonstrating the servicenow agile development application which helps you manage and track your software development lifecycle through an iterative incremental and flexible approach often organizations have multiple standalone tools for development testing and project tracking and there's a disconnect between enhancements and fixes originating operations change processes and deployment agile development manages these different software development lifecycle workflows together all in one system it manages scrum and hybrid development along with your backlog of tasks throughout the software development lifecycle from inception through testing and deployment ultimately you gain increased visibility into the entire software development lifecycle with servicenow agile development let's see how we'll log in as eileen motern a product owner who's responsible for communicating her business customers requirements to scrum teams and for prioritizing the backlog of work to help maximize the overall value delivered by their scrum development teams all the while she needs to track and report on productivity progress status and continuous improvement servicenow agile development helps eileen and her team do all of this with capabilities including guidance on getting started with agile development product owner and scrum master dashboards lists of products groups releases themes epics stories and more as well as the agile board shown here on the right which eileen relies on as a central location to prioritize plan and track work eileen first looks at the analytics tab which provides her with the on-demand graphical reports to stay on top of current status including a drillable overview release and sprint burndowns stories and group velocity on the overview tab she reviews key performance indicators from stories sprints and the products she manages on the burn down tab the release and sprint burn down reports display the actual daily progress of the selected release from start to finish compared with the ideal progress the stories tab shows stories by story points on the left half of the page and by story count on the right which eileen can filter by product release group sprint as well as story state she can also dynamically change how she views the stories by modifying the grouping for example to see them group by state and stacked by epic on the group velocity tab a group velocity chart lets eileen see the effort shown as points for a specific group against multiple sprints this helps her to quickly understand how much work can be completed per sprint for a given scrum team as a product owner eileen plans and prioritizes the stories for the product in the product backlog which displays all the active stories not assigned to any sprint eileen is currently viewing the all stories backlog she can easily switch to see a different backlog using the backlog selector or create a new backlog by clicking on the plus icon she can also filter to view stories by epic stories with no story points and stories with no acceptance criteria unique to servicenow agile development is that it provides a unified backlog which allows eileen and her scrum teams to maintain a centralized backlog containing records of different test types such as defects enhancements incidents problems and other desired tasks along with their stories they do this by setting up triage boards for each specific test type once set up it enables the team to add other work such as this incident right to the backlog so the scrum team can easily see all the related work in one single location the system automatically creates a related story and they can optionally add additional details having these different task type records all in one location removes the overhead of converting records to stories saving the scrum team valuable time and steps the sprint planning tab enables eileen and the development team to plan and prioritize work across sprints here she's looking at all the work assigned to the crm engineering team in sprint's five and six as well as items from the product backlog that have been assigned to them eileen can view details for a specific sprint in the sprint pop-up window including sprint plan's start date and end dates and group capacity which is automatically calculated and adjusted based on factors including team composition holidays and vacation each sprint displays stories in a list currently showing story number description epic and story points they can optionally personalize the list columns to add or remove details to get a better understanding of the area of focus and business value for each story eileen selects theme and moves it up so it will be displayed to the left of the associated epic new stories themes and epics can be created from the sprint planning page eileen clicks the create story option and adds a short description the story has automatically been assigned to the crm engineering team and as necessary she can add additional information such as product theme and epic when the story is submitted it appears at the bottom of the product backlog to sequence tasks and stories within the backlog or any of the sprints eileen can prioritize them using drag and drop functionality and clicking on the three dot icon next to the selected story or stories provides a menu of additional changes that can be performed on the story the sprint tracking tab provides a visual task board that lets eileen quickly see the status of the stories in the current sprint all the stories assigned to the crm engineering team are displayed here as cards in various states the board also allows for drag and drop assignment of records and clicking on a person's name filters the board to show the specific stories assigned to them new cards can be added right from the visual task board and the state of a story can be changed by simply dragging it to the desired lane the task board also shows an interactive visual task board but with related story tasks for the current sprint eileen can drill into a story test to see more details or she can click on list to view the story tasks in a list group by story with servicenow agile development eileen and her scrum teams have all the information they need to plan and track their work in order to maximize the value of the software products they deliver to the business we just demonstrated how servicenow agile
