hello i'm deborah mcgrath senior technical product marketing manager at servicenow during the next five minutes i'll cover two key benefits to project managers who use servicenow project workspace this includes improved speed to market and quality of delivery as well as increased transparency and visibility we'll see how a project manager can use servicenow to accomplish this beginning with out-of-the-box dashboards to track project details we'll then show how they use project workspace as a one-stop place to manage their projects and perform all project related activities last we'll drill into a single project to view project analytics details planning resources financials and status reports the project manager paul martin is presented with his project manager dashboard the dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of all his projects including important kpis which helps him to make informed decisions quickly servicenow provides a series of out-of-the-box dashboards for the project manager and project managers are also able to create their own shortcuts reports and dashboards in order to track specific details of their projects switching to the project workspace paul sees each project represented as a card each card shows the project summary so he can quickly gauge project status and health paul wants to know more about the sap and servicenow integration project so he clicks on it servicenow provides a single system of action for managing all aspects of the project from one central location with six tabs that enable the project manager to easily navigate through the full details of the project the analytics tab provides a quick overview across the top by identifying exceptions or red flags about the project including status percent complete number of open risks actions issues and change requests below paul can view delayed tasks and milestones upcoming tasks where no resources have been assigned project resources allocated versus actual time pending time cards to approve and resources who did not submit time cards on time the details tab opens the project form and enables paul to define important aspects of the project the process flow formatter across the top of the screen gives an at a glance indicator of the current stage in the project process configurable related lists below provide access to additional records such as sub-projects requirements resource plans stakeholder details and expenses from the planning tab the project manager accesses an interactive gantt chart based planning console for a graphical overview of the project's schedule and tasks within the planning console the project manager can create and update schedules capture baselines assign resources and track critical path and dependency information the project workbench makes it easy to manage projects by presenting project information in two panes the top pane displays a timeline with the project phases and milestones the bottom pane displays details for the phase selected in the timeline next we'll look at the resource management capability which enables the project manager to find appropriate project resources and to create and manage resource plans for the project and project tasks resource plans enable project managers to request resources based on availability skills and other information and to track effort and associated costs the project manager can adjust the resource plan as desired and submit it for approval from the financial section the project manager can see breakdowns of cost components of a project including plan cost estimated returns allocated budget cost plans and benefit plans here paul can view the cost line items that have been added to the cost plan for the project resource plans cost plans capture both labor and non-labor related project costs the benefit plan shows him the potential benefits that will be accrued by the project last we'll take a look at the status report reporting status to project stakeholders is a key activity for the project manager the status report allows the project manager to view status reports submitted in the past as well as to create a new status report the new report can be created by copying a previous report and editing as required the project checklist capability allows project managers to maintain to-do items and clicking the home icon brings us back to the project workspace we just demonstrated how project managers can use servicenow to improve speed to market quality of delivery and overall transparency with out-of-the-box dashboards to track project details with project workspace as a central place to manage their projects and perform all project related activities and by drilling into a single project to view project analytics details planning resources financials and status reports for additional information on project workspace visit servicenow.com itbm you
