Starting Your ServiceNow Development Journey
[Music] my name is andrew albredore i'm a senior servicenow developer i was nominated for a developer mvp award for 2020 i've been working on the platform for about five years now and i really love servicenow hey everyone it's jared montz here from the sn dev slack channel moderator and currently the engineering lead at a servicenow partner hi i'm travis dolson i'm a senior architect on the servicenow platform servicenow supports their developers with a lot of resources to get started so first of all you can get your own personal developer instance so that you can actually start working with the tool but additionally they've got the developer site which has api documentation and also some starter courses so that you can start learning and going through some step-by-step tutorials additionally there's also the now learning which offers a wide array of learning paths for just about anybody i mean whether you're starting on the low code side where you don't really have much experience all the way up to the pro code side where you're coming in with years of it experience there's a learning path in there for you to get started i know the developer program and the developer website have been amazing for learning and api resources and being able to get the code snippets of new technology that you're wanting to implement if you're thinking about getting into servicenow development i would say do it jump in uh go to the developer website get a pdi personal developer instance um and then there's learning plans on the developer website there's also now learning that has a lot of other structured content try a variety of uh client-side things server-side things integrations app building see what you enjoy and then there's the the work ecosystem out there between customers and partners is just so large that chances are you'll be able to find work full-time doing whatever specialty you pick up so i would say yeah jump in
